  • therapeutic goal of reaching a peak-plasma concentration of ~20 mM (350- 400 mg/dL) is most efficacious
  • The first post IVC plasma level following the 15 gram IVC has been shown to be clinically instructive: levels below 100 mg/dL correlate with higher levels of existent oxidative stress, presumably from higher tumor burden, chemo/radiation damage, hidden infection, or other oxidative insult, such as smoking.

    High dose IV vitamin C shown to reduce both pain and inflammation in patients with RA.  This study looked at doses only up to 50 grams.  The specific inflammatory marker that this study looked at was CRP and it was reduced on average by 44%.

    Good place to start on the understanding, yet oversimplified. The dosage has to be individually determined based on tumor burden, body size...A one size fits all approach never works. One cannot simple treat statistics; but, instead, must treat people...which are not statistics.
