The March 23 edition of eCampus News includes the following article highlighting that California State University (CSU) is currently standardizing its 23-campus system and the Chancellor's Office on Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications.  The article notes that as part of the university's strategic plan, Access to Excellence, CSU has made a commitment to take advantage of technology to meet future educational needs and has created the Common Management Systems (CMS).  The article also notes that in an effort to improve efficiency and reduce costs system wide, CSU has consolidated its financial management processes and systems onto PeopleSoft Financial Management. 

Oracle has introduced its Retail Customer Analytics solution, joining Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics in its family of BI applications. The new solution offers 10-plus pre-built dashboards based on nearly 100 key performance indicators (KPIs) and also allows users to frame ad hoc data analysis queries

When it comes to making purchases online, 45% of consumers age 18 - 34 who own a smartphone will use it to purchase products online as often as a few times each week..."As a whole, retailers are challenged to move across channels as easily as the consumer and deliver the same consistent, high quality experience no matter the format," said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail.

The February 1 edition of eCampus News includes the following article highlighting that Vanderbilt University selected Oracle's PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to overhaul its admissions systems and enhance strategic assessments for campus programs.  The article notes that PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management will enable the institution to integrate six admissions systems into one comprehensive solution to facilitate more efficient information transfer between departments and mitigate student records integration complexities.
