The September issue of University Business includes the following article highlighting how financial aid offices are drowning in a sea of reports, but the right software and strategies can make it possible to handle the increase in reports. The article highlights how universities, such as California State University (CSU), and software providers are handling the data deluge. The article includes comment from Dean Kulju, director of student financial services and programs, California State University, who notes that he likes the flexibility of CSU's software (Oracle PeopleSoft for the majority of campuses) and the ability it gives CSU to customize but he would like to see more movement towards providing universally accepted or required reports being used by institutions nationally. The article also includes comment by Gary Allen, senior strategy manager, Oracle Higher Education, who notes that financial aid offices can manage better outcomes by knowing their audience and what will make most sense to them.

The March 21 edition of ExecutiveBiz includes the following blog post highlighting that California State University (CSU) is implementing Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications in its efforts to standardize financial management processes and systems across its 23 campuses.  The blog post notes that the integrated financial management solutions will provide a consolidated platform for the school to complete financial operations including general ledger, billing and purchasing.  The blog post also notes that CSU will use Oracle's PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.

The March 22 edition of Campus Technology includes the following article highlighting that California State University (CSU) has standardized its financial, human resources, student administration and alumni development systems across all 23 of its campuses and the Office of the Chancellor.  The article notes that the university is using Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications hosted on the Unisys Hosted Secure Private Cloud Solution.  The article also notes that Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, MO, has expanded its implementation of Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications to include PeopleSoft Human Resources, Payroll for North America, Benefits, Campus Solutions and Financial Management, in addition to PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) and PeopleTools.

The March 23 edition of eCampus News includes the following article highlighting that California State University (CSU) is currently standardizing its 23-campus system and the Chancellor's Office on Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications.  The article notes that as part of the university's strategic plan, Access to Excellence, CSU has made a commitment to take advantage of technology to meet future educational needs and has created the Common Management Systems (CMS).  The article also notes that in an effort to improve efficiency and reduce costs system wide, CSU has consolidated its financial management processes and systems onto PeopleSoft Financial Management. 

The March 22 edition of Computer Business Review includes the following article highlighting that California State University (CSU) will use Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications to standardize its 23-campus system and the Chancellor's Office, as well as manage its student academic operations.  The article notes that PeopleSoft Campus Solutions will enable the University to manage its student academic operations, including scheduling and registering for classes, calculating and collecting fees, awarding financial aid and assessing students' academic progress.

The July 23 edition of Campus Technology included the following article highlighting California State University San Marcos as a 2013 Innovator using Oracle as one of its solutions. The university needed a way to achieve the right balance of high enrollment and elective courses. The university's plan included Oracle's PeopleSoft ERP to leverage student data. The university also implemented Oracle's Campus Solutions Academic Advising module to initiate an analysis of aggregate course demand. The university is now planning several projects, including a roadmap students can access directly to assist them with their academic planning.

The October 28 edition of University Business included a press release announcing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions' new features for program-based enrollment and assessment. The new enrollment functionality enables institutions to improve student retention and timely degree completion. Additionally, the new assessment feature allows instructors to define and assess any type of learning activity and provide flexible structures for assigning and calculating marks and course goals.

The October 2011 edition of Business Officer includes the following article highlighting the significance and uses of business intelligence (BI) in higher education. The article notes that California State University System uses Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to provide more functionality, change the reporting queries and improve the look of its dashboards. The article includes comment by Amir Dabirian, vice president of IT and chief information officer, California State University, Fullerton, noting that the university's goal is to enable the institution to make data-driven decisions, particularly in tough budgetary times. The article also includes comments by Theo Bosnak, director, higher education and academic medical centers, Attain LLC, noting that BI is extremely useful because the solutions can be customized and adapted to the needs of the leader or educational department.
