Katie, this is an awesome list of resources! I think so often that teachers neglect ELL learners, especially if they aren't ELL teachers. I was just talking with one of my TESOL friends this last weekend and we both agreed that classroom teachers need to be more accommodating to their ELL students.

YAY TESOL. I love seeing other teachers post about TESOL because every teacher is going to encounter ELL students in their teaching career. This is a great list of resources! I have used many of them and know that having them all in one place is extremely helpful. Since this is my future, I would definitely use this website to keep track of resources. It is for teacher use. Most ELL students would have difficulties navigating through these resources and understanding why they would be useful until a teacher helped them understand why. There are many lists on the internet for ESL help, but most have a lot of dead links. From what I looked at, this list looked very helpful!

This website a list of Web 2.0 tools you can use with your students when you want them to be collaborating, communicating, creating, critical thinking, and processing information. Many of the tools come with tutorials and explanations of how teachers have incorporated the tool into their classrooms.

Wow, love the extensive lists and all of the ideas they have here. It helps to keep them all together on this site so I can remember where to look when I want to variety of ideas for something. Whenever I feel like I want to change up a lesson or add something "spicier" to it, I often turn to something-tech related, so now I can turn here. Thanks! I think this could be helpful for any teachers looking to add a little spice to their lessons. I always "pin" stuff like that, too, to keep all of my ideas collected together.

I love the part of this article that encourages educators to think of a lesson that needs some life and then to look at web 2.0 tools! Also there is a link that brings you to effective communication tools for web 2.0 that I found helpful. Definitely a great teacher tool so that they have a place to go to for ideas for sprucing up a lesson. Teachers are really starting to come around to ideas like this, and I see more integration in lessons everyday. Definitely check out the twitter handle!

This website offers many resources for teachers. It is important, especially as a first year teachers, to know were you can go for help.

I agree that I could use this resource efficiently in my own future classroom but probably only for the first couple of years that I teach because it simply provides tips to keep in mind and resources for first year teachers. I like how the article tells teachers to keep in mind 4 key points: teaching is hard, you can't do it alone, every classroom is different, and classroom management means solving problems before they occur. This resource is definitely meant for teacher use because it is meant to help teachers as they first begin their careers, and students would not have a reason to utilize resources for first year teachers. Richard Byrne is a teacher who blogs about different technology tools that are out there for teachers. His tips are usually quick reads and very easy to follow. He posts approximately once daily. Excellent resource!

This site has great resources that can be used in my classroom. One post from this blog is about "How to share videos through Google drive". At times students have an assignment where they have to create a video and it would be easier for them to submit the video to me through Google drive instead of posting it on a public site. This resource could be equally useful for teachers. Teachers can share videos with students or with colleagues through Google drive. Similar resources could be dropbox and learning management systems such as e-learning, Canvas or Blackboard.

This is an awesome blog for teachers! It seems that most of these tools can easily be used for teachers in the classroom. I would definitely like to use some of this technology anyway. It really is geared towards educators and it is nice that they are quick to read for those teachers who don't have much free time.

Great site giving proof that flipping the classroom works! This site is a great place to start because she did a lot of the research for you and gives a list of great sources to get you started.

I liked this site. It gives webcasts and web pages that you can look at. A great place to look for ideas if beginning the process of flipping. I have saved it to my library and plan to dig deeper into the many resources the author shared.

How to put OER's in action. A great Science tool!

Science is one of my favorite subject and I thought this resource was great! As a teacher I can see myself using . This for my future classroom. I have not seen any similar resources and i think this offers great items.

Christa, My overall first impression about this resource is what an amazing science tool! I especially love this resource because it not only speaks to my understanding of being a science major, but also as a hopefully becoming a science teacher as well. I completely agree that this resource will for sure be used in my future classroom, as well as even possibly passing it down my future students and maybe even one day to my future student teachers. I personally believe that this resource can be used for both teachers as well as students. My reasoning behind why it can be used for both is because how teachers can learn from the viable information, or even teach the students science in a different way that they possible different even think of before. As well as students can learn from the material, on top of what the teacher has taught them in the classroom. I am currently not aware of any other similar resources, but I will make sure to keep my eye out for any more just like this one in the future. Overall, this resource is extremely valuable and easy to access.

This looks like a great resource for math teachers! I love that she gives new tips with each entry. I can see where this could be a resource for teacher, but also, how students could benefit from some of resources that she posts about. Schoology is a relatively new free learning management system for educators. Similar in nature to Edmodo, it currently allows the educator a few more abilities, resources, and customization that isn't offered in Edmodo.

o Do agree or disagree that the resource can be used efficiently in your own future classroom? Explain why or why not. Yes, this feature CAN and HAS been used in my classroom to much success. Students really seem to prefer it over other LMS websites like Edmodo or Moodle because of the ease of use, different resources, mobile app, and the App Store. I use it for distributing and collecting assignments, taking polls and surveys, and for taking assessments such as quizzes and tests. o Do you believe the resource is mostly for teacher use, student use, or both? Explain your perceptions constructively. This resource is used by both the teacher and the students in order to be effective. The teacher is the one who sets up the page, creates the assignments, links, quizzes, polls, etc and the students use the site to effectively manage their learning process. It has really helped to take away the complaints and excuses that I typically get from students not knowing what they are supposed to do and where everything is located. I think one of the major advantages to Schoology is the ease of being able to find Files/Links and Assignments. o Are you aware of any similar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources. This task is similar to our threaded discussions. You want your comments to be constructive. Repeat this step for the remaining three bookmarks you are required to comment on. Other possible LMS websites that I have used are: Moodle, Edmodo, and Blackboard. There are many, many others as this is a highly innovative arena right now and out of all of them, Schoology seems to really impress most educators who have tried using it.

I really like the looks of schoolology, Jeremy! I can see how this would be very useful in a junior high or high school classroom. Especially in a school that has gone 1:1! If fifth grade students had their own computers, I would definitely use this as a classroom management tool! I think this is a great way for educators, students, and parents to all be on the same page regarding assignments and class expectations. I really like the Text/SMS feature! As you had stated in your description. This is very similar to Edmodo, which I'm familiar with. Thank you for sharing!

This is a great website that lists free resources that teachers can use in the classroom.

I LOVE Discovery Education! I had an account for a while and I used it a lot in my class. They have a variety of resources that can be used in the room. I especially like their videos! The footage is high quality and you can be sure that it will address the topic that you are searching for.

I've never have used or heard of Discovery Education, I just checked it out and think that it is great! I think that I could use this resource efficientlly in my own classroom because you can never have too many resources; especially free ones! I see that there is use for both students and teachers, I'm not sure how great it will be for students though.

Social media resources for educators I can use these tools to create a wider variety of communication using social media.

I can use the resources posted on this site in my classroom to enhance learning. These resources can be used by both teachers and students for interactive learning experiences. I am familiar with Edmodo and I like the many features it offers to teachers and students. In my school we use Canvas, which is based on a similar concept. However the Edmodo interface is very similar to Facebook which can be more user friendly for students.

This resource is valuable to students and teachers. The first video on talks about how it can be used by anyone. My concern is that the video was made in 2007. That seems like a long time ago I wonder what the updated video looks like? I am very glad to hear there are alternatives to Blackboard and Google classroom but I wonder if the alternatives to these big shots work the same?

This is a great resource to use in educating yourself on information about digital storytelling in the classroom. You can use this to learn information about it and why it should or should not be used in the classroom. It is a good idea to know the benefits and downsides to any resource we are using in the classroom

This website is a lot like the one Tabatha posted, I like that there are websites out there that can give a teacher multiple resources on just one page, it takes the search out of teaching, which is really appreciated from a busy teacher. This is mainly for teacher use, but students benefit.

This resource shows a couple of different social media resources that teachers are using in the classroom. 

I really enjoyed the fact that this website gave several examples of how teachers have implemented technology and 21st century skills in their classrooms. Then gave a couple of examples of other social media avenues that teachers can implement. One thing that I think would be helpful is connecting teachers with PLNs on twitter or other places that would help them see how people in their field are using social media.

I think that this resource can be used by teachers very easily. It gives very clear examples on how to use a few websites in an actual classroom. This is a good resource for teacher use. It isn't made for students to look at; it's for teachers to get ideas on how they can use resources. There are always going to many of these blog posts and websites that give tutorials, ideas, lesson plans, etc., but some are good and some are bad. This one is one of the good ones!

A meeting place for a world of reflective writers. This blog is outstanding! I have been trying to come up with new ways to become a better writing teacher. These writing teachers provide free resources for a writing binder they created with their students, and I plan to implement this into my own class!

Since I am a TESOL major, I am very interested in motivation for writing and ways to make writing fun! I definitely think I would use this in the future for advanced students for ESL. It would help me think of new prompts, new ways to make writing fun, and motivation for students. The website is definitely for teacher use because it is a resource for lesson plans and activities. I said it before, there will always be blogs and websites that give resources and ideas like this. But there are a lot of bad blogs and websites and this one definitely has a lot of good ideas!

Great blog, I like how they have it organized and the amount of resources you can find on this blog. This blog had many great ideas for teachers to use while teaching students writing. This is a resource that would be helpful for teachers.

This is a video about natural resources. Would be good to use this when introducing our natural resource unit in Earth Science.

Twitter!! I have learned that Twitter is a great resource for teachers. It is very interesting that Twitter is utilized by more teachers than business professionals. It probably helps a lot of parents get into something new too.

I have experienced twitter use in the classroom numerous times through my experience during college. I think it is a great way to utilize social media in a safe way. Students can easily share information because they use twitter all the time. I think this website could be used by both teachers and students because they will need to know how to use twitter in the classroom. I defiantly want to use Twitter in my classroom in the future.

1. I can see myself using Twitter in my classroom in the future. I am still overcoming my hesitation to use social media in an educational setting...I think it is just going to take time and continued practice! :-) 2. The resource deals mostly with teacher use, but the tool could be used with teachers and students. 3. There are many different social media tools that could be used with students. The important part is selecting tools that are appropriate for the audience.

Kim, I really enjoy this website! I like how this website is also split up by grade levels! This makes it so much easier for teachers to search for resources. Smithsonian website with resources and information about oceans, science, etc; features an "Educator's Corner" with lesson plans and activities.

Erin this looks like a great site for students who want to learn about the ocean. When I visited it I noticed just how easy the site was to navigate. Super simple for people who might now be to tech savvy. Everything was laid out in an easy to read manner. The articles looked fun and full of information. If I ever became a teacher and we were learning about the ocean this would be a huge help, because the Smithsonian is one of the most prestigious organizations in the world. The Smithsonian has many different interactive website that deal with all different parts of our planet, and the ocean is just on small sliver of their knowledge.

I really liked this website, and I remember liking the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, itself. The site is very user-friendly for both teachers and students.
