I just love the way Google supports teachers and education. Companies like Google are shattering what was once limits in education! Their online tools are making impacts in all levels of education k-12 and higher ed!
When I found out about Google in Education I was thrilled. Google provides so many opportunities and applications for everyone, not just teachers. It is a great tool to learn from and get classroom ideas. It definitely helps support any aspiring teacher, and helps benefit them in a positive way!
I didn't know about Google in Education before this and I really like it! I think it's wonderful how Google is supporting educators along with students. This website is filled with great information and I will be looking back upon it in my future classroom for a resource. Thank you for sharing Nichol!
Nice find Nichol! I don't think it could hurt anything to have someone like google getting behind teachers in education. Now granted, pretty much everything they are presenting here is something that is going to turn you on to a google product, but google makes some pretty great things so I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that they do this. If you're going to put that many resources into helping teachers (and the option to help students as well) you might as well get a little something out of it yourself.
Wow, this is great! I've never seen a website like this! I can absolutely see how I would refer to this site when my students pose that ever-popular question, "When am I ever gonna use this?" I think this sight could be used by teacher, students, and parents to help deepen the understanding and application of math concepts! I wish I had a similar site to share with you, but, like I said, this is the first I've seen of this type! Thanks for sharing!
Great site for both teachers and students to show how math relates to everyday life! Thanks for sharing this is something I can see myself using in the future.
This list is a great resource and I believe I could use this in my future classroom. If I am in a classroom with technology readily available I think many of the web 2.0 tools listed in this article could be put to good use! I believe this resource is intended for teachers but will benefit students and teachers alike when these tools are implemented into the classroom. I found this article "The 100 Best Web 2.0 Classroom Tools Chosen By You," http://www.edudemic.com/best-web-tools/. This list was published a year after the article you posted so you might want to check out this list as well! Thank you for your resource!
This quick article went through 35 web 2.0 tools. I like this list because it has some of the easier things to work with (Prezi, Twitter) to some more advanced things like Diigo and Wikispaces.
Ideas related to how you can put wikis to work in your classroom! Categories: Resource Creation, Student Participation, Group Projects, Student Interaction For the Classroom Community, Other
I love how it´s broken up in different categories for using wikis. It makes it so easy to navigate through for teachers. There are many fun and easy ways on here that I will for sure use in my classroom someday. Thank you for sharing.
While it definitely seems like a educator-specific resource, I love the categories. I especially like the collection of ideas for group projects, as it is always nice to have a pool of formats to pull from.
Recourse for student use! Separated by grade level 1-6 or subject area! Very kid friendly site! Helpful for those of us who are also elementary majors/teachers!
Prezi is a way of working on a presentation online and then when you go to your class you can log on to your account and pull the presentation up that you have been working on, instead of using USB drives, etc.

I love Prezi! I have used it many times in classes to do presentations! I love the way it looks and it is so much better than a boring powerpoint! Don't get me wrong, powerpoint is a great tool also, but sometimes it is nice to just use Prezi and do something a little different than everyone else! I think more people should really learn about Prezi.
I think Prezi is a great Web 2.0 Tool. Powerpoints are very beneficial and fun to create, however Prezi takes that to a whole new level. It is a great interactive tool that keeps learners engaged! Prezi is great for anyone to use, whether you are a student or an educator. I think all students should learn and hear about Prezi, so they can make interactive presentations!
This is the best presentation tool out there. Whenever I see a Power point I kind of laugh to myself. Prezi is just so much more pretty. With the types of transitions and effects you can make it just makes the experience so much better. As some of the others were saying it keeps the learners engaged. Power points came often become very repetitive and boring but with Prezi this is rarely the fact. Prezi is catered to many different levels of education, teachers, students, and even business. Anyone can use it, and they should. To my knowledge there aren't any different types of presentation tools out there.
This educational resource describes the different breeds of cats from Maine Coons to Pixiebob and many more. By clicking on one of your favorite or preferred breed information on that breed will pop up.

Wikispaces is a great place for academic based wikis to be formed. Since the site is geared towards education it does a great job of being exactly what a teacher would want it to be.
I actually had two sites that were provided by the government with lots of digital activities for the kids to do. This is the one that wasn't turned off by the government shutdown. Good to know.
I thought this site had a lot of great advice for people that might be starting their first blog. I would say that half of the things they bring up I wouldn't have thought about if I was starting a blog.
I also just recently started using Khan academy with my students. Even though we follow a constructivist approach to teaching math, this resource has been helpful for my kids who need procedural examples. Plus sometimes it is more engaging to listen to someone else teach it!
I do like the free aspect of Khan Academy - due in part to funding by The Gates Foundation. I love the variety of topics available, and the ability to engage in "hip pocket learning" whenever I wish. Honestly, I am sad that Bank of America has become a sponsor of Khan Academy, however. It seems like they would have less of an interest in learning for learning's sake.
YouTube has more than just silly cat videos, this educational channel has tons of different lessons from various professors and teachers from very prestigious schools. A great tool if you're looking to sharpen your skills and learning something new
