Taking the time, even 15 minutes a day on social media for your classroom can make a different. I think this is an important reminder on the reasons why we should use social media. This is a great starting point if you are just introducing social media into your classroom. I will continue to revisit this website to improve my instructional practice.
This is a great website for 21st Century Learning. There is a large possibility in the future the students are going to be getting the news and updates about their society through online news sources. This is a great way to start the students on reading the news and educating them about the world. We can teach them strategies on how to filter through news in the online environment. I also like this website is kid friendly language.
We all hear we should be using Twitter to enhance our classroom, but where do you start? I would like to incorporate Twitter into my classroom and I think this is a great resource to start up with. Please use this if you are looking to incorporate Twitter into your classroom!
This is a great resource to use in educating yourself on information about digital storytelling in the classroom. You can use this to learn information about it and why it should or should not be used in the classroom. It is a good idea to know the benefits and downsides to any resource we are using in the classroom
The two extra resources I found were in correlation to my final topic I am writing about in this class, digital storytelling! If you have any resources related this topic, please share!
I LOVE Discovery Education! I had an account for a while and I used it a lot in my class. They have a variety of resources that can be used in the room. I especially like their videos! The footage is high quality and you can be sure that it will address the topic that you are searching for.
I've never have used or heard of Discovery Education, I just checked it out and think that it is great! I think that I could use this resource efficientlly in my own classroom because you can never have too many resources; especially free ones! I see that there is use for both students and teachers, I'm not sure how great it will be for students though.
Thank you for posting about 21st century schools!! Lately in some of my other classes I feel like people are forgetting we need to teach these and how important they are for students to learn so I'm glad you haven't forgot about them! This a pretty nice listing too so you can easily see what you need to teach skill wise and why it's important

This website is a lot like the one Tabatha posted, I like that there are websites out there that can give a teacher multiple resources on just one page, it takes the search out of teaching, which is really appreciated from a busy teacher. This is mainly for teacher use, but students benefit.
The 21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age. The Partnership for 21st Century Skills lists three types: These skills have always been important for students, though they are particularly important in our information-based economy.
This module explores ways to address the specific needs of ELL students and how to scaffold their language and literacy development. You will examine observable behaviors that indicate students' progression through stages of language acquisition. English-language learners are students who have acquired their primary listening and speaking skills in a language other than English.
I feel like people are often so worried about integrating technology into the classroom that they often forget about how this is going to affect classroom management. As we implement technology into the classroom we are going to have to change other aspects of our classroom, and classroom management is going to be one of them. Great resource!
I thought this was a very in depth article, with a lot of information about using social media in education. If I were really wanting to get a foundation of understanding about using it in my classroom effectively, I think this would be a great place to start. I think I would use this effectively, because I would be able to start educating myself on the topic and hopefully find some blogs to follow to keep updating me on the topic. I believe this is mostly an educational tool for teachers. They could also find good articles and share them with their parents, so the parents can understand the strategy of using social media in the classroom. I have seen other resources that explain social media, but I feel as though this a very through compilation.
I liked this website, I agree with the fact that students are learning better via computer/technology. This website gives a good synopsis of helpful websites for teachers to use in their classroom, it basically gives them ideas and different ways to incorporate the technology in the classroom. I have found many teachers help teachers with technology websites throughout, and most of them have been mainly for teacher use.
This is a great one shop stop for teachers! I would definitely use it as a starting point for many of my classroom activities to spice things up and expose my students to a variety of learning methods. I think it focuses more on what teachers need to do but its great for students to learn with.
Wow, what a collection! All types of links including blogs, educational sites, apps, databases, and activities. This is a great place to visit when looking for ideas. Many subjects are included. A teacher could start here and spend lots of time expanding to other sites!
