I love how it´s broken up in different categories for using wikis. It makes it so easy to navigate through for teachers. There are many fun and easy ways on here that I will for sure use in my classroom someday. Thank you for sharing.
While it definitely seems like a educator-specific resource, I love the categories. I especially like the collection of ideas for group projects, as it is always nice to have a pool of formats to pull from.
The 21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age. The Partnership for 21st Century Skills lists three types: These skills have always been important for students, though they are particularly important in our information-based economy.
This module explores ways to address the specific needs of ELL students and how to scaffold their language and literacy development. You will examine observable behaviors that indicate students' progression through stages of language acquisition. English-language learners are students who have acquired their primary listening and speaking skills in a language other than English.
To begin with, I don’t lecture. My students don’t take notes, at least not in the traditional sense, and we don’t read a novel and simply answer the questions.
It also means my students don’t acquire knowledge just for the sake of acquiring it. They need to do something with it — that’s where “project-based” comes into play.
Finally, technology is embedded into the structure of all we do. It’s part of how we research, how we capture information, and how we display our learning. It’s never an accessory tacked on at the end.
One of the most important things we can do is teach our students how to use social media wisely, and how social media can be used for social good.
Instead, inquiry and technology are a natural part of our English classes. It’s what my students have come to expect and have started to design themselves. Instead, of saying, “hand in your assignments,” I say, “publish your assignments and send me the link.” They think about connecting and sharing their learning in the larger world.
I found this post very interesting. It is easy to see how PBL may work in a science or math classroom, but I have always wondered how it would look for English. It seems like this teacher has truly grasped PBL, and her students are enjoying the learning process. I think this resource could be utilized by any teacher who instructs about English content, but depending on the age of the learners, the students may not reach full autonomy as those in this article did. I particularly enjoyed one quote from the teacher, "Finally technology is embedded into the structure of all we do... It's never an accessory tacked on at the end." As we have learned about in other EdTech courses, technology needs to truly transform the learning experience. I believe the teacher is doing that in this classroom.
This Blog is one that I have bookmarked and will coming back to. This teacher's description of her class is how I want to work to make my class to look like. She had her premise but she had been able to create a class based on inquiry, openness and trust. This empowers students to create a social media campaign, create their own curriculum, and at the same time become more advanced in the content. Ms. Barseghian, I'm gushing, but your class sounds inspirational and worth the gushing.

They also demonstrate great potential as a mechanism for instructional innovation as networks of teachers and learners share best practices.
Science is one of my favorite subject and I thought this resource was great! As a teacher I can see myself using . This for my future classroom. I have not seen any similar resources and i think this offers great items.

My overall first impression about this resource is what an amazing science tool! I especially love this resource because it not only speaks to my understanding of being a science major, but also as a hopefully becoming a science teacher as well. I completely agree that this resource will for sure be used in my future classroom, as well as even possibly passing it down my future students and maybe even one day to my future student teachers. I personally believe that this resource can be used for both teachers as well as students. My reasoning behind why it can be used for both is because how teachers can learn from the viable information, or even teach the students science in a different way that they possible different even think of before. As well as students can learn from the material, on top of what the teacher has taught them in the classroom. I am currently not aware of any other similar resources, but I will make sure to keep my eye out for any more just like this one in the future. Overall, this resource is extremely valuable and easy to access.

This is an article that breaks down the "Four C's" of 21st Century Skills. It is a nice, light, read and I feel like it hits the nail on the head about what kinds of skills our students will need in the workforce of today and tomorrow.
Great article about the Four C's. This article is very long and detailed but atleast it gives a better understanding and more in depth lesson about the Four C's.
The main thing that makes this blog post l is the youtube video embedded at the bottom. Sir Ken Robinson, critically evaluates the current school system and shows how it needs to be changed to prepare students for the jobs that do not even exist yet
Sir Ken Robinson is one of my favorite educational speakers. His Ted Talks are all amazing. I like this resource just for its usefulness in making people think. It would make a great tool for teachers to take to administrators who are reluctant to move towards a new teaching style or technology implementation. I am lucky enough to work with an administration that already thinks this way, but I know that there are some districts that do not see a need for a change in our education system. I also think that every parent and student also need to see this video. It is important to understand why your teachers are trying new things and teaching new skills. It helps when everyone is on board. Thanks for sharing this source!
Great find for all teachers. I think many teachers, including college professors are falling behind in this. I think the higher ed people need to replace their training manuals with this.
