    Wow Ryan! This looks like an awesome resource once it gets going! I think that this could be a wonderful tool in getting students creating their own graphic design images, etc. I think that this could be used by both teachers and students! Teachers could use this to create material for the classroom, etc., and students can create images for projects, school organizations, etc. It seems similar to Animoto (animoto.com), which allows you to easily create video/slideshows on the web. Great resource!

    Thank you for sharing this resource, I had no idea something like this was out there! I'm going to try messing around with Canva and see if I can make some new designs for my blog since I'm just using default Blogger templates now. I love how simple it looks and I can see how it would be easy for students and non-techie people to use. I can also see myself actually being able to produce some of my own posters for my classroom as well.

    Ryan I had never heard of Canva! This looks cool and I feel would be a great tool for students and teachers, like you said. This seems like it could really have students and teachers getting creative and sharing that with each other!

    Ryan- Thank you for introducing this brand new tool. It looks like an app that can be used by both teachers and students. This is one I would like to stay up to date with so that I can give it a try when it releases for use.

    Canva is a great tool. I have used this tool in my classroom. We used Canva's Snapchat filter template to create filters for our school. This tool is great for students to express their creative side. The one downfall I have seen with Canva is that some of their features are premium and that leaves a watermark on the final project.

    I am a big fan of Canva! I taught my 4th grade students how to use it last year. They continue to use it for projects, tasks, and assignments. They have a hard time finding free graphics on the site, though. Luckily, they are also good at finding and inserting their own :)

    We already use some of these strategies and it would be great to try out others in our cotaught classes. I feel that this resource is mainly for teacher use. Students don't really need instructional strategies. Doesn't the Marzano Compendiums have a list of instructional strategies we can use in our classrooms?

    WoW!!! This is definitely a comprehensive list of strategies. It is helpful when a list has a brief description that helps teachers understand what they will be implementing into their classrooms. I often times provide enrichment to students that I cannot see daily, so i know that I will find some great strategies to use on this list.

    1. I could see myself using something like this with a future class. Right now, its all about access, access, access! (and I don't always have it) If I add this, I want to be able to do it more than a day or two every other week... 2. The resource is mostly for teacher use...it considers issues a teacher might want to consider before implementing coding in their curriculum, along with support issues they might need help with later. 3. There are other resources out there for teachers -- I have looked at code.org (for example) as they provide a lot of lesson plans/etc. that can be used by teachers in their classrooms.

    While I don't think I would used in my future classrooms per say. I am however interested in learning to code for myself. Also, having a 1st grader and a preschooler, I think this would be helpful to start teaching them to code. This resource is mainly for teacher use, but the curriculums listed on this site would be used by students. Another resource I have heard about through a coder friend is DeltaVCode 101 course. I know they are offering a class starting soon in CR very soon.

    This will be a helpful tool for me to use in my ELP classrooms. I have found that coding is an area of both interest and strength for many of my students. I have found that some like to stick with the apps and resources that they are comfortable with and others like to try new things. This will help me offer those students what they need.

    I loved this article! It reminded me a lot of the Horizon report on what is trending. Many of these we are already incorporating at my school and in my library like the coding, augmented reality, robotics and makerspaces. I also liked that they included student privacy as a trend. This is something many people overlook at the elementary level, but it is still extremely important!

    This was an awesome article. Like Staci said, it reminded me of the Horizon Report. Knowing what the current trends are now will definitely influence my future classrooms. Also, I am working on figuring out how to use virtual reality and augmented reality in my current Earth Science classrooms. I feel like this article was mainly written for teachers, and not students. The Horizon Report is very similar to this, in fact it was even mentioned in this article.

    This was a very informational article. It did a nice job of discussing the current trends in education and technology. I try to stay current on the hot topics in both education and technology by attending conferences and reading researched based articles like this. It often becomes overwhelming trying to decide which practices will benefit my classroom and students the most at a current time.

    This is a nice tool for teachers to use. I know that I can definitely take a look at it for my own classroom. Learning definitely changes with the use of technology and how accessibly it can be for students to learn facts.

    I think this resource is very applicable to my classroom because one of my main goals to to have my students evaluate and create which is what a lot of the article discussed. Overall this is more for teacher use as it is discussing 21st century skills and what they look like. Also it comes from the Teacher PD source book. I shared an article that was very similar to this that covered 10 signs of a 21st century classroom.

    I really like the way that this article breaks down 21st Century learning and dispels the myth that 21st Century Learning is the same as learning with technology. I especially like the quote that you highlighted that states "Twenty-first-century learning means that students master content while producing, synthesizing, and evaluating information from a wide variety of subjects and sources with an understanding of and respect for diverse cultures." I think this is a useful article that helps us focus on what will truly help students become 21st Century thinkers, instead of just figuring out ways to have them do their work on the computer.

    This is a great article and gives me a great definition to wrap my head around.     I think this website is a great start when it comes to thinking about teaching 21st century skills. Before you can understand something, you must understand the definition of it. I think it is important to note that 21st century learning is not the same as teaching/learning with technology. This website would be especially useful for teachers, because they need to understand 21st century learning before they can teach it. Great article, thanks for sharing!

    This resource is great for beginning teachers and teachers who have not worked with students with different abilities before. I like how it also notes the gifted populations as well as those students with a disability. This resource could be used by both teachers and students. Teachers could use it to learn a brief amount more about students with special needs, while as students can use it to understand what other options/strategies might work best for them if they fall into one of the categories listed. There are many other resources that provide strategies/information about how to work with special populations. One I like to check out as a special ed teacher is ldonline.com.
