A quick little website about the some of the pros and cons of using interactive whiteboards in class and how they worked when researched. 

I think that this may be the content of an article, not a website. Also I question how the results they found have changed, considering that this article was published in 2009. Therefore, I am not sure how relevant the content of this article is, because the technology has undoubtedly changed a lot since it was written. This resource is definitely for teacher use; I think the writers are trying to help teachers see how they can utilize interactive whiteboards more effectively in their classrooms. This article left me questioning what the authors were talking about a little bit: under the "What the Research Found" portion of the article, the authors describe three features "inherent in interactive whiteboards" that have increased student achievement. However, the handheld voting devices and projection of graphics and visuals can be done without an interactive whiteboard. It left me unsure about how useful interactive whiteboards are; I think that if I had my choice of technology in the classroom, an interactive whiteboard would not be high on my list.

A great free resource for classrooms that use interactive whiteboards.

This looks like a great collection of resources for teachers with an interactive whiteboard. Interactive whiteboards, in my opinion, are an underutilized technology. I know that I definitely do not do enough with the one in my own classroom. As a teacher, it is difficult to create activities for the whiteboard completely from scratch. This seems to be a good place to start. I especially appreciate the breadth of subjects that the activities encompass. Thank you for sharing!

I love how it´s broken up in different categories for using wikis. It makes it so easy to navigate through for teachers. There are many fun and easy ways on here that I will for sure use in my classroom someday. Thank you for sharing.

While it definitely seems like a educator-specific resource, I love the categories. I especially like the collection of ideas for group projects, as it is always nice to have a pool of formats to pull from.

I used Edmodo for about four years and I loved just about every minute of it. For a long time, I swore by Edmodo, as it had the most capabilities and services, and tried to convert most teachers to at least trying it out with one class. The site has definitely changed over the last few years, adding new features and even an App Store, however there are so many new LMS resources out there now, that I kinda felt like Edmodo has started to lag behind and is often playing catch-up. I also started to get kids in class complaining that it was just too much like Facebook and that it was really difficult to find assignments and resources easily. I've since switched to Schoology (https://www.schoology.com/home.php) and it has fixed nearly every complaint and problem I had with Edmodo. It gives the teacher more customization options and it is really easy to grade assignments and quizzes. Students have also told me that it's way easier to know where assignments are and what they are supposed to do and how to turn it in. Don't get me wrong, Edmodo is still very awesome and it will help you become a better at your management of assignments, just know that there is a lot of competition and innovation happening from other sources. Lacie, I also have t chat on one of my lists! I decided not to share it, assuming that you would. It really is a great tool. It makes it so much easier than just trying to follow along on your everyday twitter feed. Tweet chats can get going pretty fast and can get hard to follow, this makes it a little easier by putting it in it's own little world to follow along with.

I just used Poll Everywhere in a presentation on campus with pre-service teachers! It was a hit!! I've never seen a class so quiet and so focused with that many cellphones out!

I feel like this would be a great tool if it's used in the right context. I don't necessarily think elementary would be the right place for it. For the students that actually have phones you don't know if the students have texting included in their plans. You might get them in trouble with their parents, hence you get in trouble for telling them to send a text. In older grades I could see this going over very well and I've seen it used in a college class before. It's a nice change of pace in that context.

I actually used Poll Everywhere in my Level 1 Teaching Experience and loved it! The students got to see some results of our lessons, I got a quick formative assessment, and the data was nicely organized for graphing or applying to spreadsheets!

Prezi is a way of working on a presentation online and then when you go to your class you can log on to your account and pull the presentation up that you have been working on, instead of using USB drives, etc.

I think Prezi is a great Web 2.0 Tool. Powerpoints are very beneficial and fun to create, however Prezi takes that to a whole new level. It is a great interactive tool that keeps learners engaged! Prezi is great for anyone to use, whether you are a student or an educator. I think all students should learn and hear about Prezi, so they can make interactive presentations!

This is the best presentation tool out there. Whenever I see a Power point I kind of laugh to myself. Prezi is just so much more pretty. With the types of transitions and effects you can make it just makes the experience so much better. As some of the others were saying it keeps the learners engaged. Power points came often become very repetitive and boring but with Prezi this is rarely the fact. Prezi is catered to many different levels of education, teachers, students, and even business. Anyone can use it, and they should. To my knowledge there aren't any different types of presentation tools out there.

Buzzmath is an interactive website designed for middle school students to practice skills specific to common core. Teachers can create free accounts for limited access or pay for premium accounts. With a premium account, buzzmath will collect data on students progress which makes grouping easier on the teacher. It is a great way for schools with one to one initiatives to incorporate technology into the classroom.

Smithsonian website with resources and information about oceans, science, etc; features an "Educator's Corner" with lesson plans and activities.

Erin this looks like a great site for students who want to learn about the ocean. When I visited it I noticed just how easy the site was to navigate. Super simple for people who might now be to tech savvy. Everything was laid out in an easy to read manner. The articles looked fun and full of information. If I ever became a teacher and we were learning about the ocean this would be a huge help, because the Smithsonian is one of the most prestigious organizations in the world. The Smithsonian has many different interactive website that deal with all different parts of our planet, and the ocean is just on small sliver of their knowledge.

I really liked this website, and I remember liking the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, itself. The site is very user-friendly for both teachers and students.

This website is from the History channel and contains content about different events in past and present current events. The feature that I particularly like on this website is the This Day in History, where it tells about all the events that have happened on that current day in history. This can be utilized in history lessons for students to interact and research upon.

Wide variety of engaging topics relating to history. Great as a teacher resource for supplemental lesson material or for students research.

This is an interactive website in which teachers share ideas that can be utilized within classrooms. It's great for first year teachers starting up there first classrooms. It can also be used in the classroom for students to research different content as there are resources on the website.

I love this website. It´s set up kind of like pinterest which I´m a big fan of. The layout is well organized, so it´s easy for teachers and students to navigate through. There are a lot of great ideas on it that I´m sure I could use in my classroom someday. Thank you for sharing.

Nikki, I have this same page bookmarked on my Diigo, so I definitely find it very useful and inspiring. I think Ted talks are a great resource that we can use for our students! They have so many different Ted talks on very different issues, and being able to watch a video for a quick 15 minutes can catch the attention of the students. I also feel as though the Ted talks I have watched have been very inspirational and done very well! I would definitely be able to effectively use these resources in my future classroom. I believe this resources if for teachers to use and share good Ted Talks, but then those teachers are expected to share with their students. I would recommend following Ted Talks so you can see when they post new and similar videos.

This is brilliant! TED talks are so widely known and used in so many different walks of education! The ability to create and share lessons across such a well traveled network of people is phenomenal resource to help you find what you really need to get your things done. Kahoot is a great way to get students to be interactive in the classroom while studying and gaining knowledge at the same time!

The information in this article supports one of the things that my school tech integrationist is trying to get teachers to do with social media. He is asking teachers to do Penpal Schools, which will connect students with other students from around the world. I am going to be having my class do Penpal schools. I also want to try out having my students blog about books we are reading in 7th grade language arts after reading about the benefits of blogging in this article.

Very cool! I really wish I had students at an older age level. Though I can do something like this for 2nd graders it is more difficult with their reading and writing skill levels. Still a pretty cool tool to use for students and teachers alike. Thank you for sharing!

Social Media is important. When I was in middle school and high school we didn't learn about social media or how to be safe on the internet. It was more of a foot note than a subject in class that we learned about. Blogging was foreign to me until now. I feel like I have missed a lot because of this.

Makes math seem relevant to students.

Wow, this is great! I've never seen a website like this! I can absolutely see how I would refer to this site when my students pose that ever-popular question, "When am I ever gonna use this?" I think this sight could be used by teacher, students, and parents to help deepen the understanding and application of math concepts! I wish I had a similar site to share with you, but, like I said, this is the first I've seen of this type! Thanks for sharing!
