Ein Beispiel für neue Zielgruppen erreichen (s. Konferenzbeitrag Archimuse: http://www.archimuse.com/mw2008/abstracts/prg_335001837.html Our solution (in progress): - By creating many experiments across the widest range of existing social networking models we are making links with the local community who in turn show what the Gallery and the area is really about through their own images, ...- We always ensure we can back each experiment with adequate resources and talent to ensure a high quality result that does justice to the Gallery we represent.

Here Is New York - 1 views

  •
HERE IS NEW YORK is not a conventional gallery show. It is something new, a show tailored to the nature of the event, and to the response it has elicited. The exhibition is subtitled "A Democracy of Photographs" because anyone and everyone who has taken pictures relating to the tragedy was invited to submit their images to the gallery, where they were digitally scanned, printed and displayed on the walls alongside the work of top photojournalists and other professional photographers.

Seductive Subversion opens today and the show takes a look at the impact of women artists on the traditionally male-dominated field of Pop art.  The exhibition team wanted to keep things simple in the gallery-a spare look, so the pop art would really pop out at you.  At the same time, the team had a plethora of research about each of the 25 artists featured in the show and wanted a way to share that with the public.   So, the goals of this endeavor became two-fold.  First, how do we share the research and, second, how do we do it in a way that won't overwhelm the visitor experience?  Wikipedia + iPads became the answer

The Degas Manuscript - 0 views

  •
The following manuscript, consisting of 281 handwritten pages of unlined drawing paper, was discovered in the studio of Impressionist painter Edgar Degas (1834-1917) shortly after his death. Recorded as Lot 49 in the legendary 1918 auction of Degas's collection, the manuscript was purchased by economist John Maynard Keynes, who attended the sale as a buyer for the London National Gallery. The pages apparently remained in Keynes's possession until his death in 1946.

Disposition « Museen im Zeitalter des Web 2.0 - 3 views

  •

How to Evaluate Online Success? A New Piece of Action Research | conference.archimuse.com - 1 views

  •
"How to measure and define the success of cultural websites and online services is a problem common to all parts of the cultural sector - museums, archives, galleries, arts organizations, libraries and publishers. Worse, funding agencies and government departments lack the expertise to offer guidelines or set standards. The result is a confusing mixture of statistics and reporting that reveals little about genuine user satisfaction."

NGA Experience - V2_ Institute for the Unstable Media - 0 views

  •
The ubiquity of mobile devices and the advent of augmented reality provide an opportunity to explore the use of interactive design in what is traditionally a difficult educational space: the art museum. The NGA Experience app (shown here on an iPhone but theoretically platform-agnostic) uses augmented reality to populate the art museum with a digital layer of content that is virtually infinite, yet completely optional for visitors. Such an application of AR in the museum ultimately provides a greater level of control and engagement to the museum visitor and enhances his or her opportunity for a meaningful experience without altering the physical space of the gallery.

Collection X - 0 views

  •
On April 25, 2007 the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto launched a new online initiative called Collection X "This project, which has been in development for six years, represents a huge leap forward for the AGO not only because it makes works from the permanent collection available online but also because it makes it possible for the public to upload their own collections and to create exhibitions using the same application. As it has been conceived, Collection X is meant to function as an open-source museum that features public collections presented alongside collections created by the public." (museumsremixed.blogspot)

Tips for using Foursquare to promote your museum « Museum Marketing - 0 views

  •
Foursquare basically lets you leave tips for friends and strangers in your favorite places, when someone else comes to that place, they can read the tips that you have left through Foursquare on their mobile phone. Foursquare is growing in popularity and many museums and galleries are listed on the application. A lot of these institutions are taking steps to engage with those who use Foursquare and  having spent a little more time using this application I want to share a couple of tips.
