PMS is Hotel Property Management Systems to help operate the day-to-day tasks in the hospitality industry, PMS has assisted the process with guests check in and checkout, assistance with assigning rooms, managing room rates and for billing guests, this article also explains how PMS has removed the unnecessary use of paper for these processes as well, which is environmentally friendly! When a guest leaves their room, PMS systems help inform housekeeping that there is an empty room that now needs to be cleaned for the next guest. The article by Oracle also mentions "mobile-enabled cloud-based hotel PMS" which tells the reader that internet is required to function the PMS properly and efficiently. PMS also assists hotels with keeping customer data in their systems so that managers within the property can keep track of guest spending, room rates, guests per night, week or month and help improve how accurate their information is instead of having to keep track of all of this data manually. When speaking of the cloud-based PMS systems the article also states that this helps customers keep track of their own information with a specific company. Like if a customer stays at Marriott hotels, with the Marriott app they will be able to keep track of their stays and reservations they have made in the past as well as existing reservations.

Property management systems (PMS) were originally only for front desk needs like booking reservations, checking guest in and out, charging accounts, and managing room assignments. The newer PMS systems have enhanced the check in and check out process, maintenance and housekeeping management, and accounts receivable management. The check in and check out process has been enhanced by the newer cloud based PMS systems by giving the front desk the ability to provide service anywhere and anytime. It is more accessible and can update room statuses in real time. As housekeeping cleans rooms the room statuses are updated through their mobile cleaning device into the PMS system. Also, the PMS system allows the front desk to communicate with the maintenance and housekeeping staff for last minute guest request and complaints. The cloud based PMS system also allows the front desk to have access to revenue management. This way the front desk can have access to accounts receivable and update it as payments come in from previous guest. This enables faster and more accurate billing for guest. As technology advances it is important for the hospitality industry to stay updated so that guest and employees needs are met. Keeping up with the technological trends allows companies to remain competitive.

MS technology changed a lot in the hospitality industry. A hotel property management system is a platform that enabled a hotel or group of hotels to manage front-office capabilities, such as booking reservations, guest check-in/check-out, room assignment, managing room rates, and billing. Hotel PMS now integrates to other onsite services that impact the guest's complete experience. Hotel staff provides a guest experience when operating an effective hotel business.PMS can help hotel staff to manage information more efficiently. hotel PMS can also let hotel employees gain insights into guest behavior and preferences, improving guest satisfaction and enhancing the quality of the guest experience. PMS will develop faster than now and implement their system more efficient. When customers book a hotel room through website hotel staff can know it immediately. It saves time and saves labor cost. Hotel staff doesn't need to write down the information now.
  •
A hotel PMS is often defined as the software used to manage bookings, room rates, check-in/check-out times, and much more. However, through the years, hotels' PMS has evolved to better allow for a seamless guest experience. For example, with an advanced PMS, front desk is capable of directly notifying housekeeping employees what rooms need what service and any specifications they might have. In addition, PMS has evolved to be a cloud-based software. This means that hotels can keep up to date with the newest version of the PMS, they lower IT costs, they can more effectively influence room rates and better manage expenses along with income, and they allow them to keep track of all guests and their specific requests to keep the experience perfectly personalized for them each time they come to visit.

This articles talks about how the PMS programs are being redefined by new technologies that not only enhance the productivity of the hotel it self but has millions of positive effects, event towards a more ecological and eco friendly environment.
  •
This article first introduces the definition of PMS. Traditionally, PMS was defined as a platform that enabled a hotel or group of hotels to manage front-office capabilities. But with the development of science and technology, the function of PMS has been extended. Hotels can get many benefits from PMS, such as improving room management efficiency, more convenient management of customer data, and so on. This article also introduces the advantages of cloud-based PMS over traditional PMS. Such as faster updates, avoiding excessive costs in the IT department. Cloud-based PMS may be an important development trend for PMS.

Hotel PMS is a critical business operations system which enables a seamless guest experience. PMS is not just limited to in house; cloud base PMS provides the same benefits with more features.
  •
Hotel PMS is extremely important when it comes to hotel management. It provides a seamless experience for not only guests but employees. It provides easier guest check in and out, data that includes accounts receivable, and also helps with maintenance and housekeeping. PMS systems are cloud based and is expensive but will be worth it over time.

This article tell us what is PMS and what benefits it can brings to the hotels operation. Automating daily operations and administrative tasks is an important part of achieving customer satisfaction as it helps provide reliable and quality service time after time. A hotel is a complex system that encompasses the activities of many departments, and every operation must be tracked
  •
More than a "platform that enabled a hotel or group of hotels to manage front-office capabilities", modern PMS is "a critical business operations system that enables hoteliers to deliver a seamless guest experience" by integrating many other systems. PMS offers many kinds of benefits to hoteliers, including improving housekeeping services and revenue management. The deployment of PMS is also a consideration. While most PMS systems were on-premise, there do have cloud-based ones that reduces cost in an innovative way. It also helps in enhancing customer lifetime value and increase RevPAR and ADR.

Cloud Computing Is Becoming the Default Setting for Enterprise Business - 1 views

  •
" It is a reasonable argument that the only reason millions of workers have been able to successfully work remotely over the past year is because cloud computing has reached a level of maturity that now makes working without the cloud unthinkable. Microsoft 365 is arguably the most widely used. Cloud computing is no longer a choice, but rather the default position of any organization that wants to remain competitive. The number of ShareGate desktop users performing on-premises SharePoint upgrades decreased by 19.7 percent in 2020. On-premises operations decreased by 60.63 percent. Operations to migrate from on-premises to the cloud increased by 37.2 percent. Cloud-based operations jumped by 50.1 percent. Cloud-to-cloud migrations increased by 67.9 percent and included the transfer of 144 percent more terabytes of data in 2020 versus 2019. Microsoft also made significant investments in industry specific certifications in financial services, energy, health and manufacturing to meet the stringent requirements of these heavily regulated environments, making it an even more attractive option for enterprise clients. He pointed out that companies that need extreme low-latency transactions, have geographical proximity restrictions or highly secure data handling needs should consider traditional methods as well as the cloud While security is improving, some old and new attack vectors remain for cloud-based applications. That threat landscape will continue to grow as the market for cloud and SaaS networks and platforms expands and bad actors follow the money. The cloud service providers are asking businesses to trade off convenience for control. That will never happen. Further, there is only one cross-cloud provider standard, K8. The other area in need of standardization is security notification. Every cloud provider reports security events to customers separately, with different languages and syntax. Cloud consumption is linear but cloud security notification is exponential.

Why Is Hotel Security Important? - American Protection Group - 0 views

  • Hotels are part of the hospitality industry, where providing good customer service is essential. A hotel’s reputation is staked largely on the guest experience, and investing in proper security services plays a central role in ensuring guests feel safe and protected. It also protects owners from the damages and costs that may arise from criminal activity such as theft.
  • Security officers patrolling the hotel’s grounds can look out for suspicious activity. Hotels should have security officers regularly patrol the hallways, stairwells, lobbies, parking lots, restaurants and bars.
  • Security officers can handle unruly guests or visitors and prevent negative situations from spiraling out of control. Officers can also provide additional protection to VIP or controversial guests of the hotel that might attract public attention or protests.

  • Security officers can prevent hotels from incurring property damage, particularly if officers are patrolling the hotel’s grounds. They can also assist in incidents involving guests damaging their rooms.
  • In addition, the presence of security officers at a hotel can make guests and employees feel safer and more at ease. Many hotel guests are in an unfamiliar location, and this sense of security can increase their satisfaction with the hotel.
  • Security officers on the premises of a hotel can react appropriately and rapidly when emergencies occur. In the case of a fire, they can help evacuate guests and maintain order. In a shooting or other act of violence, they can stop the perpetrator and protect guests and staff from danger. They can also provide valuable assistance and information to law enforcement when they arrive on the scene.
  • Hotel guests may occasionally become unruly or intoxicated, particularly in hotels with bars. Security officers follow hotel policy for dealing with these guests by escorting them either off of the premises or to a taxi, or detaining them for the police as appropriate. They can also escort trespassers and loiterers off the premises. In addition, security officers can safely help staff and guests to their vehicles upon request if they feel unsafe.

protel cloud solutions create benefits in the near term - 0 views

  • The benefits are impossible to ignore: Lower overall cost, no requirement to build and own an IT infrastructure, no need to bother with maintenance and data security, and the ability to add and subtract capacity as needed.
  • The sole requirement to use cloud applications such as the hotel management software protel Air or the new protel Web Booking Engine is an Internet browser.
  • To reap the benefits of the cloud, however, hotels are not required to move their entire IT infrastructure online.

  • The introduction of the cloud to the hospitality industry will play a large part in stimulating the faster deployment of new services to both companies and customers, and for both it will restore something unique: a choice.
  •
Hotel software provider protel has jumped on the cloud computing bandwagon by launching a web-based product line. As stated in the article, the benefits are endless, including but not limited to: lower expenditures, no IT infrastructure required, ability to add capacity as needed, etc. Protel only asks that their hotel clients have access to an Internet browser in order to run protel Air or the new portel Web Booking Engine.  Contrary to popular belief, hotels are not required to convert their IT infrastructure entirely online. With protel Air, these hotels are able to combine cloud and on-premise solutions in order to utilize their existing infrastructure while reaping the cloud benefits. With such hybrid solutions all the rage, costs are being significantly reduced while enabling efficient and effective business processes.  Personally, I believe all hotels should convert to a hybrid infrastructure, if not completely run on the cloud. With the average consumer relying on internet interaction every day, guests are accustomed to instantaneous results and information. Software such as protel Air and WBE will help the hospitality industry grow in the technology world.

Time to Invest: Predicting What's Next for Technology in Hospitality | hospitalityupgrade.com - 0 views

  •   If you make the right choice, today’s investments may last for 10 or even 20 years.

  • Mobility gives us the ability to communicate with our guests and staff in real time.
  • Many hotels have shortchanged the investment in upgrading bandwidth and supporting Wi-Fi infrastructure, believing that the migration of mobile devices to 4G/LTE cellular technologies will solve the problem by ultimately reducing or eliminating Wi-Fi.  But a look at where the megacarriers are investing proves this assumption completely false.

This article indicates that there are three majors shaping our world between now and 2020. Those are the cloud, mobility, and Cellular Offload. We should determine the major trends, and then invest in solutions that align with those trends. Interestingly, it is mentioned some insights provide clues as which investments will be future proof to and witch will be risks. From hospitality perspective, equipment and maintenance performed by on-site or locally based staff, which is great for all owners. Also, It can be seen that the cloud allows investors to make big investments in its service.

This article introduced three major trends that we think will shape our world between now and 2020. The author thought one of the biggest challenges for any technology executive is predicting the landscape of toolsets and IT infrastructure that will be available in the future. The correct choice can last at least 10 years and there are three major trends, cloud, mobility and cellular offload. For cloud, the author thought it is good for hospitality. It holds the promise of relieving the hotel owner of responsibility for managing the operation and integration of premise-based systems, with associated costs for deployment, equipment and maintenance performed by on-site or locally based staff. Also, the author thought the mobility creates both opportunity and challenge. It can be used to both define new service models and revenue streams, and to improve existing ones. Today's challenge is that mobility requires massive investment in wireless infrastructure and bandwidth .Finally, the author thought as it is far cheaper for a cellular carrier to build or fund a Wi-Fi network, than to install an additional cell tower and/or buy additional spectrum, it is good news for hotels. It means that cellular companies have an economic reason to help fund hotel Wi-Fi networks.

Six questions hoteliers should ask providers of cloud-based systems | Tnooz - 0 views

  • Cloud/SaaS can bring many advantages over on-premise solutions for hoteliers. Among them: Conversion of CapEx (capital expenditure) to OpEx (operational expenditure); Access to the latest version without the pain often associated with upgrades; Removal of the burden of application and infrastructure management; and Potential for heightened security beyond internal capabilities.
  • In addition, the cloud is being used by the federal government and financial institutions, both of which likely have stricter, more complicated regulatory requirements than most hotels.
  • 1. Is it really cloud?

  • But in evaluating whether to choose a cloud/SaaS solution over on premise you also need to do an honest evaluation of your own IT organization’s ability to manage your infrastructure. Google’s cloud-based Gmail service offers 99.984% availability, which is 46 times better than the average Microsoft Exchange implementation.
  • 2. Do you have Service Level Agreements on RTO/RPO?
  • 3. What are the availability SLAs?
  • 4. Is there an offline mode?
  • 5. What about integration?
  • 6. How can I get my data back out?
  •
Cloud computing is becoming more and more popular in today's business world. What are the main advantages that cloud computing can bring to Hospitality industry? Through the article I found the answer which are also the concerns of hoteliers that are a lower cost and a higher security environment. For instance hotel companies can be access to the latest version of what they are using without paying too much to buy related software. Secondly since the cloud is being used by federal government and financial institution which have higher level of regulatory requirements than most hotels, hotel companies can feel more safety in applying this high-tech in their business. But nothing is perfect. The author mentioned in this article that before we choose cloud service, we should get to know some information about the hospitality software suppliers. As for me I concerned about whether they have an offline mode which can continue the business activities for a while when the internet disconnection happens. For example how could hotels make sure the check-in, check-out, and reservation activities go on successfully when something wrong with the internet. The second concern for me is how could I get my data back if I discontinue my service in certain provider. Hoteliers should have ways to protect their data and other business activities. Cloud computing is developing very quickly and it will benefit us a lot only when we get to know the right way to use it.

I used to use this systme to make key cards for the customers in the hotel. It's really easy to make a key card and safe for both of the customers and hotels. For example, if a customer lost his/her key card, we can remake a new one that the old one is not able to open the door in case of a theive pick up the room card to access to the guest's room. I think in the future the access system will be more advanced like you can use a cellphone to access to your room or you just use your finger print or pupil to access your room. It also works for the access for the employees. Employees may access to the working area by using their figer print or pupil to in case of some of the stranger to access to the working area. This locking system may be still have a large space to develop. This will make the hotel more fashionable and more intersting for the customers. We used to have the oringinal keys but now most of the hotels use key cards. Today also some of the hotel use mobile phones to access to the room, here still some security issues to be pay attetion like if someone lost their mobile phones. So from my opinion the future room key fotr the hotels will be better to use the unique identity of the human to access to the room.

Trending in 2015 will be the use of hosted PBX services which will take the place of the stand alone on-premise system. By utilizing a hosted service businesses should see a cost savings from the freedom of maintenance on a system that is owned and operated by the hotel to the required staff that is needed to monitor the system on a daily basis. With the use of a hosted PBX the host company will be running analytical data and sharing the results with your company, a hosted setup will also be keeping up with technology without you incurring additional expenses of keeping your software updated in the ever changing technology field. This article goes on to talk about mobile integration which in my opinion, will need some tweaking right out of the starting gate. The trend talks about migrating our mobile phones and tablets as a replacement to the desk phone and room phone. This idea will make front desk staff more mobile, but I do see how it will also cause issues with employee abuse on personal calls acting like they are working and also with customers seeing an employee on the phone and automatically thinking the employee is on a personal call. There are still people out there that have not moved up with technology like the vast majority of the population, and they will be the first to complain loudly at the advances coming.

Managing Multiple POS Outlets is a Cakewalk With a Cloud-Based PMS - Hotelogix - 0 views

  • Well, it has several smart POS systems for all its outlets. And, most importantly, the hotel’s cloud-based PMS integrates seamlessly with all the POS systems empowering the management to increase billing accuracy while saving time. Now that is smart hoteliering, don’t you think!
  • In today’s fiercely competitive market, you need to stay one step ahead of your competition when it comes to adopting technology to grow your hotel business. Or else, you are bound to face operational bottlenecks like Hotel A.
  • For all these activities, guests usually pay during check out.
  • ...9 more annotations...
  • During the stay, guests can order food from your restaurants, use the spa, the gym, the travel desk or the gift shop
  • On the other hand, , you may face loss of revenue if you forget to post a certain amount on the final bill.
  • So, in such cases, charges need to be posted directly to the guest folio in the Hotel PMS. The whole process needs to be properly streamlined as manually posting the bills can lead to multiple errors.
  • this is an important part of ‘guest convenience’, too.
  • Now, to avoid such confusion, you must ensure that your Hotel PMS and POS systems are integrated
  • With such an integration, bills from multiple outlets like F&B point, gym, or spa can be automatically charged to a guest room and the folio can be updated with no manual intervention. This whole process eliminates billing inconsistencies and helps you ensure a pleasant guest experience.
  • Because, today’s leading POS systems are all on the cloud. So, it becomes a tough and complicated task to integrate your on-premise PMS with your POS system that is on cloud too. Integrating multiple POS systems with your old and outdated legacy PMS is a mammoth-level hassle, that you’d much rather avoid. Not only is it cumbersome, it is also impractical in this day and age.
  • A cloud-based Hotel PMS can come to your rescue ,in this case.
  • What this translates to, for you, is having all your hotel-related data under one umbrella, in one single system, on one dashboard. Moving from an on-premise system to a cloud-based PMS gives you the luxury of automation, accuracy, time and most important of all- convenience.
  •
In today's fiercely competitive market adopting technology to grow your hotel business is essential, to avoid facing operational bottlenecks like Hotel A, unlike Hotel B who uses the latest technology to do smart hoteliering. This means getting a cloud based Hotel PMS which can easily integrate with a POS system that is also on the cloud. This translates into having all your hotel-related data under one umbrella in one single system, on one dashboard, giving you automation, accuracy, time and most importantly convenience. So during the stay, guests can order food from the restaurant, use the spa, the gym, the travel desk or the gift shop and pay for everything during checkout without being over or undercharged so both the hotel and guests remain happy and guests have a pleasant guest experience. In my opinion Hotel A needs to upgrade their technology to integrate the cloud PMS with the POS system also on the cloud and add other facilities to supplement revenue for the hotel when room occupancy might be down.

Maestro now offers single guest itinerary feature | Hotel Management - 0 views

  • Maestro PMS’ single guest itinerary feature now enables operators to customize their guests’ total stay itineraries with the property’s special look, feel and branding.
  • If guests change their plans, the itinerary is automatically updated in real-time.
  • Maestro is an all-inclusive system that delivers this feature as part of all deployments.
  •
The Maestro PMS has a new feature, called the single guest itinerary, that lets hoteliers give guests a more personalized experience. Since each guest is different, and would have different preferences in terms of activities, the feature allows the operator to create an itinerary that would have the guests reservations for things such as dining reservations and spas. It updates in real time if a guest wants to move things around, so that the guests can see what their new itinerary looks like as soon as they make any changes. This feature is included in all Maestro systems, both cloud and on-premises.

HRIS: Advantages … and Disadvantages - 0 views

  • We’re defining it as a software or online platform that assists HR professionals by integrating the management of employee data with the performance of common HR tasks.
  • One-stop shopping. One of the most frequently mentioned advantages of an HRIS is that you enter information only once for many HR-related employee tasks. And, similarly, you need to update only one place when employee information changes. Integration of data. Furthermore, different parts of the system can “talk to each other” allowing more meaningful reporting and analysis capabilities, including internal evaluations and audits and preparation of data for outsiders. Accuracy. Improved accuracy is likely assuming data are entered and manipulated correctly. Self service. This feature can be a great timesaver for HR. Employees may enter the system to change data (for example, change their own addresses) and managers and supervisors may enter the system to enter data (for example, performance reviews) or to retrieve data without bothering HR. Automated reminders. Systems can schedule events, such as performance appraisals and benefit deadlines, automatically notifying and nudging if actions have not been performed. Hosting of company-related documents. The system can host such materials as employee handbooks, procedures, and safety guidelines. The materials are easily updated in one place. Benefits administration. This could include enrollment, notices, changes, and reporting. Recruiting management. This may include applicant tracking, management, and reporting.
  • HRIS users responding to the survey have 100 or more employees; however, 8% of HRIS users among customers surveyed had fewer than 50 employees.

On-site/on-premises: Customer uses software that is installed on a physical hard drive or server on the business premises. Data are also stored on-site. Hybrid: Customers may download software/modules onto their own networks from centralized databases.

Doing more research on the topic of this week HRIS, I stumbled upon this very helpful article. It goes into detail about Human Resource Information Systems their use, and pros and cons. The article lists eight advantages that come from having one of these systems. It only has to be uploaded once, it integrates reporting and evaluations, it removes human error therefore improving accuracy, time saving because of self service, reminders, paper saving, administrative tools, and recruitment tools such as those we discussed in our class discussion. Where as there are only three disadvantages mentioned; security concerns just as there are with any online system, cost which is predicted to decrease rapidly in the upcoming years, and staffing because systems like these often require IT team. These three disadvantages are synonymous with that of the disadvantages we have seen on all of the softwares or systems we've learned about this semester. There will always be a concern with security when a business has data online and when a company reaches a certain size it will be inevitable to have an IT team so I believe that these few disadvantages do not outweigh the benefits of HRIS. The statistics provided by the article are very helpful in noting that these systems are most effective for businesses with approximately 100 employees but can be used with those with as few as 50.

Restaurant POS Systems Comparison: Cloud-Based vs. Traditional - 0 views

  • POS system. It’s the central artery of your operation, tracking everything from orders to employee hours and tips and practically everything in between, which means that the restaurant POS system you choose makes a major difference in how your business runs
  • While buying up all of the necessary technology to get a cloud-based POS system off the ground may seem expensive, they tend to have cheaper operating costs in the long run.
  • Think of it as Google Docs versus any documents you have saved on your desktop. Google Docs are stored on the internet while the things on your desktop are stored right there on your computer. On-premise POS systems are like things on your computer’s desktop—you can only access them in one place.
  • ...9 more annotations...
  • do you want to have to be in your restaurant every time you need to access your POS system? Because that’s exactly what you’ll have to do if you opt for a legacy POS system.
  • If you’ve ever been to a bar, restaurant, or coffee shop and had your card swiped on an iPad and signed with your finger after the barista swiveled the tablet over to you, you’ve used a cloud-based POS system before.
  • cloud POS systems are significantly more digitized and technologically advanced than traditional POS systems and they typically bring a lot more functionality with them.
  • deciding between cloud-based or traditional, legacy, point of sale system.
  • legacy systems only allow on-premise access to data, which means you have to be in your restaurant in order to access the information on your POS system.
  • Cloud-based options, on the other hand, can be accessed from anywhere you can access an app, whether that’s in your living room or the other side of the country. All you need is some internet and a device that supports apps (aka any tablet or smartphone) to get the job done.
  • Cloud-based systems update automatically, while traditional POS systems require manual updates that can be labor intensive and costly.
  • if you anticipate changes or uncertainty, cloud-based systems are much more adaptable. Whether it’s updating your menu on the regular, launching new or improved loyalty programs, or requiring more precise inventory tracking, the more your needs will shift over time, the more sense it makes to opt for cloud-based.
  • Perhaps the best thing that legacy systems have going for them is that they operate on their own little system rather than the internet. If you’ve got a solid internet connection (and most places do), you shouldn’t have problems with a cloud-based POS
  •
This article mainly compares cloud-based POS versus traditional POS. While cloud-based systems are easier to access and are supported through any tablet or smartphone, it explains how traditional POS systems are more difficult to access if you are away from your restaurant. Cloud-based point of sale systems have made it easier for employees to access data from outside of the office, decreased operating costs, and have made it easier for system updates. Although, the only advantage that a traditional POS might have over a cloud-based POS is that it does not rely on the internet.

HRIS System | Benefits of HRIS | Importance of HRIS Software - 0 views

  • Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is a software through which organizations can take care of all HR processes and unify employee data in a single system.
  • . HRIS system is cost effective
  • As this data is entered manually by the person with authority, you can trust it to be accurate. It’s going to show exactly what was entered without any errors.

  • . Any changes made are also automatically updated wherever the policy has been assigned without having to manually change it everywhere.
  • . It becomes easier to compare and analyze data in order to generate timely reports for every employee. The quality of these reports is raised too with increased accuracy.
  • HRIS can also be used to announce upcoming events or deadlines to every employee in one place. Employees can also respond with acknowledgements.
  • A cloud-based software is suitable for organizations that have less than 10 employees as well as SMEs with over 100 employees. Most of these software are available on a per employee basis at remarkably low prices. Furthermore, knowing the importance of HRIS system, you can also pay only for the features that you need and select your preferred package
  • An on-site software is only suitable for large-scale organizations with 100+ employees considering the factors involved in it. On-site software can get expensive as there are charges that will appear in the future and while using the software. Maintenance of the hardware, licensing fees, updating the system, the space required to install the hardware, etc. are just some of the extra charges

Effect Of COVID-19 On Hospitality Industry - Web Hosting | Cloud Computing | Datacenter | Domain News - 0 views

  • Effect Of COVID-19 On Hospitality Industry
  • At a time when consumer confidence is at an all-time low, communication will play the lead role in re-assuring the guests of the safe environments at different hotels. Also, within the hotel premises, the way hotels empower their guests with increasingly relevant and timely information, will also hold the key to future.
  • Hotels will need to review their existing service offerings to adapt to the “new normal” and provide a touch-free experience to their guests when they arrive at the property.
  • ...7 more annotations...
  • Providing them with safety kits and eliminating the different touchpoints while serving the guests are the major needs of the hour.
  • Digital solutions that can identify touchpoints and ensure minimum physical contact among the guests and the employees at each point of contact will take the center stage.
  • The journey starts the moment guests/staff enter the property where a touch-less identification and mobile check-in is needed to avoid the long queues at the reception. Digital keys to access the rooms or elevators would be another aspect to avoid the physical touchpoint with the doors.
  • Smart devices such as sensor-based lights or gesture control features in washrooms can further elevate the touch-less ecosystem of the hotel
  • In spite of many solution providers working with the hotels to incorporate such offerings, the major challenge which the hotels face is to get their applications downloaded onto the guest’s devices.
  • Besides engaging guests at the premises based on their locations, Proximity Marketing can enable the hotels to notify them regarding any violations of the allowed number of people in a surrounding area, information about room-service delivery, or even informing them if their room is ready to check-in.
  • Reviewing and updating standard operating procedures, upgrading towards cloud-based platforms should be a standard for the hospitality ecosystem.
