online Media Library, built on the open source DSpace repository platform, provides a growing list of about 6,000 total resources, including 3,000 open educational resources, 1,300 videos, 124 full-length textbooks, and 2,500 articles. Resources cover the arts, sciences, humanities, social sciences, engineering, business, and test prep. Materials include primary texts (such as Beowulf and Hamlet), references (such as the Catholic Encyclopedia), textbooks (such as The Electronic Introduction to Old English), maps, presentations, audio recordings, assessments, assignments, data sets, and others.

This content unit gives an overview of the use of STARLOGO software (FREE) for education from MIT. This is an awesome software and curriculum!

Blogging is now a worldwide phenomenon with weblogs reaching a potential audience of hundreds of millions. Blogs have been described as the ultimate in publishing for the people and have been used to challenge governments and the press. Steve O'Hear, one of Britain's digital evangelists, explores how blogs can be used in schools. Steve finds some enthusiastic primary age bloggers and sees how it helps in literacy, ICT skills and a range of other subjects. He finds many of the benefits extend beyond the curriculum. I was all excited to check this out...No such luck, blocked by the sonic wall because You-Tube was in the site name....outwitted again!

Many of the participants in the UW-Stout E-Learning and Online Teaching Graduate Certificate Program use Google Sites to create their e-portfolios.  The portfolios are created and used throughout the program. During the practicum, when students become teachers by teaching in one of our graduate classes, they also refine and polish their portfolios. Ultimately the online portfolio becomes a job search tool that helps our graduates show a potential employer what they know.

It a great idea , today I was attending a high school implimenting location based learning project. I actualy came to the same conclusion. forml knowledge would have better been aquired through reading and recorded information while the class would have been better used for "workshop" activity in which students would have created location based learning objects
