Minnesota a health haven for seniors, reports says; Mississippi not so much | McClatchy - 0 views

  •
Fascinating ranking of states health of senior citizens.  Though I don't agree with all their inclusion criteria, this follows the obesity data from the CDC.  What is very interesting is that the most restrictive/obstructionist state medical boards exist in the states with the highest obesity rates and poorest health of its senior citizens exists.  Coincidence??

Recent publication slams varicella vaccine as not cost effective, poorly effective in the prevention of chicken pox, based on flawed assumptions, CDC promoted 2 poorly designed studies, actually increased the incidence of shingles, and is less effective than natural immunity.  So, what is the reason to get the chicken pox vaccine again???

All people in study shown to have elevated BPA.  The statement "human health effects from BPA at low environmental exposures are unknown" is ridiculous.  Recent 2011 study from NIH showed how the pharmacokinectics of BPA in women is very similar to that of monkeys and mice.

Delayed-Onset Hemolytic Anemia in Patients with Travel-Associated Severe Malaria Treate... - 0 views

  • delayed hemolytic events occur in ≈20% of patients with severe imported malaria, and 60% of these patients require blood transfusion
  • Delayed-onset anemia (herein referred to as postartesunate delayed-onset hemolysis [PADH] pattern of anemia) has been observed to occur 2–3 weeks after initiation of IV artesunate
  • The mechanism of this anemia is hemolytic, as demonstrated by high serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and low plasma haptoglobin levels
  • ...5 more annotations...
  • this side effect is associated with artesunate
  • PADH occurred in 27% of patients in this study, but it was rarely associated with severe anemia and was never fatal
  • median delayed drop in hemoglobin levels was 1.3 g/dL
  • This transfusion rate (<5%) is markedly lower than that previously reported for patients with severe imported malaria and delayed-onset anemia (≈60%)
  • Side effects of artesunate frequently include gastrointestinal disturbances, neutropenia (1.3%), reticulocytopenia (0.6%), and elevated liver enzymes (1.1%)

First, wearing masks is absolutely USELESS according to the science, now social distancing is useless. The scientists of the NIH, CDC are either terrible scientists or they have lied to us.
