    Shock!  Glyphosphate is a xenoestrogen and promoted growth of breast cancer cells via estrogen receptors. This is only the abstract, but the glyphosate was found to "alter" the ERalpha and ERbeta expression.  These effects were found at low levels existing in the environment.

    The process of androgen deprivation therapy needs to be re-evaluated.  Why?  First, the CVD side effects associated with the androgen depletion.  Second, the depletion of 3 beta androstanediol that has been shown to bind to ER beta and inhibit growth.  As in this study that finds that ER beta activity slows prostate cancer through destabilizing of HIF-1 alpha and by inhibiting VEGF.

    This study points out, that it is not the androgens, but the high aromatase activity and resultant Estradiol production that promotes prostate disease.  Take this together with high ER alpha dominance and one has a recipe for disease.

    Study finds link between cholesterol metabolite and breast cancer.  The interesting point of this article is not that statins need to be given to all women to prevent breast cancer, which of course is what many will take.  But, that the cholesterol metabolite, 27-hydroxycholesterol showed ER agonist activity.  This would have to be ER-alpha agonist activity though the authors did not clarify.  The 27-hydroxymetabolite is created from CYP27A1.

    ER-beta is commonly expressed versus ER-alpha in bladder cancer.  There was a positive correlation between ER-beta expression and invasion and grade of cancer.  This study also found that blockade of the ER resulted in a decrease in growth.
