What Happens When You Verify Your Cash App? - Quora - 0 views

  •
There are a few things you need in order to get a verified CashApp account. First, you'll need to provide your full name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. You'll also need to link your CashApp account to a bank account or debit card. Once you have all of this information entered into the system, you'll be able to request verification. You may be asked to verify your identity by providing a photo ID. Once you've been verified, a green check mark will appear next to your name on the CashApp home screen. This means that all future payments sent or received by this account will be automatically deposited into or withdrawn from your linked bank account.

If you're looking to buy a verified Cash App account, there are a few things you need to know. First, Cash App accounts can only be verified by the person who created them. So, if you're looking to buy a verified account from someone else, they'll need to provide you with their login information. Second, when you create a Cash App account, you'll need to provide your full name, date of birth, and Social Security number. Once your account is created, you'll be able to add a bank account or debit card and start using the app.

Google Reveals 'The Physical Web,' A Project To Make Internet Of Things Interaction App... - 1 views

  •
Google has revealed a project underway at the called The Physical Web to provide "interaction on demand" so that people can walk up and use any smart devices without the need for intervening mobile apps. This would make it possible for users to simply walk up to a bus stop and receive the time until the next arriving bus, without any additional software needed. An accepted open standard is probably some years away, but the promise of an Internet of Things that doesn't require a centralised software hub is appealing, since it democratises control over the system.

BBC News - Instagram for doctors to be launched in Europe - 0 views

  •
A photo-sharing app enabling healthcare professionals to view patients' photos is to be launched across western Europe.
  •
Even though this app is surrounded by controversy I see it as the natural next step in healthcare. There is no reason why doctors should not be able to freely exchange information as long as the identity of the patients remains unknown.

The combination of the Vernier Video Physics and the Vernier Graphical Analysis apps works well to digitize and analyze simple video x,y coordinate data on the iPad. However, it is sometimes desirable to digitize more complex data (e.g., changes in the area of an object over time), and other apps work better in this regard.

You Don't Need a Ph.D. to Contribute to Scientific Research - 7 views

  •
"Thanks to the proliferation of mobile apps and advances in online crowdsourcing platforms, non-professionals are helping researchers identify new species, track comets, name proteins, project climate patterns and much more. Science-minded individuals have myriad opportunities to get their hands dirty and partner with professional scientists, conducting ground-breaking research together."

Do you know any citizen science project dedicated to investigate rare diseases?

It's great to see that people can contribute to scientific exploration in so many ways! It's a good way to learn basic scientific skills and develop critical thinking.

The World Bank's open data: 7 apps to explore - 3 views

Open data at work! Sanjay Pradhan was thrilled when, at age six, a cart full of sweets was wheeled to his family's doorstep in Bihar, India. The gift, however, was intended as a bribe for his father, who was responsible for building roads in India's poorest state.

Recap of 2014 Open Knowledge Festival | Opensource.com - 1 views

  •
I was lucky to be in Berlin with some colleagues earlier this month for the 2014 Open Knowledge Festival and associated fringe events. There's really too much to distill into a short post-from Neelie Kroes, the European Commissioner for Digital Agenda, making the case for " Embracing the open opportunity," to Patrick Alley's breathtaking accounts of how Global Witness uses information, to expose crime and corruption in countries around the world.
  •
A useful summary of some of the key take-aways from the 2014 Open Knowledge Festival, courtesy of Tariq Khokhar From the article: 1. There are some great open data initiatives around the world and two common themes are the need for a strong community of technologically literate data re-users, and the sustained effort needed within governments to change how they create, manage and publish data in the long term. 2. Spreadsheets are code and we can adopt some software engineering practices to make much better use of them. There are a number of powerful tools and approaches to data handing being pioneered by the scientific community and those working in other fields can adopt and emulate many of them. 3. Open data fundamentally needs open source software. App reuse often doesn't happen because contexts are too different. Reusable software components can reduce the development overhead for creating locally customized civic software applications and a pool of high quality civic software components is a valuable public good worth contributing to. Reading time: 15mins
  •
I see that Google are the sponsors of the 2014 Open Knowledge Festival but despite having little knowledge about Google's role and interest in the Open Knowledge , I also feel they are the culprit when it comes to data manipulative for their own profit motives.

A list of citizen science projects, apps & tools - 8 views

I have gathered a large list of on-going citizen science projects and related tools which, I am sure, will benefit everybody interested in getting involved with hands-on science. Some of the projects in my list were mentioned in Clarkes' video lecture - I realize that some people were looking for references to those.

Hello! You have done a great job, very impressive. A couple of weeks ago I suggested and made a google spreadsheet in which everyone that wants to participate can add useful links to open knowledge resources. Would you like to drive this project with me? I would first ask you to add your links to the list and then we could look at tools in which we can make this interactive list look better, be more interactive and really make an onlile resource library. Please let me know what you think. What I do counts towards the final assesment and track, if we collaborate it could count for yours too, so you can benefit as well. I just feel like we could do more if we join forces. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lJ4GQpgdsFuELxmxb50WypzDq8-BLaAKL9OdKx8wBII/edit

    Buen aporte. ----- Good contribution.
  •
Gracias por tu contribución. I liked it so much because of "Marine LitterWatch" because it is a really big problem in Mexico, it can be applied by government to clean the populated beaches, el Cañón del Sumidero or Sumidero Canyon, and to sensibilize people. Additional to that, the app can be used in big cities to decide where to colocate new tanks of rubbish.
