Embassy Havana Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program. Eligibility is limited to those who qualify to receive U.S. grants, and have the ability to develop and implement their proposed programs in Cuba.

Eligible topics for projects are broadly defined to include democracy and human rights, security and foreign policy issues, economic and civic development, and support for regional stability in Southeastern Europe. Typically grant awards range from $3,000 to $5,000, though some exceptional projects are funded up to $10,000, and supplement other funding. The deadline for submitting proposals is August 1, 2017. New grantees will be given priority over previous grantees. Funding for NGO grants is decided through a competitive application process, and each proposal is reviewed by an internal embassy committee. Eligibility for this NOFO is limited to: Slovenian not-for-profits/NGOs/social enterprises, Slovenian educational and research institutions and public entities.

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA) is pleased to invite eligible organizations to submit grant applications for humanitarian demining in Colombia during fiscal year 2017. Specific goals, objectives, and technical requirements for application packages are detailed below. The Robert and Elizabeth Dole Archive and Special Collections is currently accepting applications for a $2500 Archival Fellowship, in conjunction with the closing year of University of Kansas' World War I Commemoration.  The Archival Fellow will work with Dole Archives staff to evaluate relevant archival holdings and develop a topic guide and online teaching module based on Senator Bob Dole's career advocacy on behalf of Armenia.  The final product will be used as an introduction to this topic for K-12, university, and general public audiences.

The purpose of this Activity is to move Central American countries towards a technically and financially sustainable strategy, to contain the HIV epidemic and fulfill the 90's goals. Through this program, the Embassy seeks to celebrate and strengthen the cultural connection between india and the United States through the medium of jazz music. The recipient should be an ensemble and include at least one American musician, with an emphasis on American jazz music that includes traditional jazz music that pays tribute to its African-American roots.

Funding Opportunity Announcement DE-FOA-0001616 The Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), on behalf of the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE), is seeking applications under this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), herein referred to as Announcement, to conduct research, development and demonstrations (RD&D). This RD&D, in the areas of low cost sensors and improved modeling using sensor data input, will lead to enhanced observability and controllability of power systems to support increased hosting capacity for distributed energy resources (DERs), including energy storage. Capturing the benefits commonly attributed to DERs and/or microgrids, as well as establishing new value propositions that could be enabled by these RD&D efforts is the focus of this FOA. New value propositions could include, but are not limited to, mitigating ancillary resource requirements and meeting the growing demand for reliable and resilient grid operations against outages under all-hazards conditions.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), announces that it will award one cooperative agreement for the creation of a national one-stop source or hub for refugee technical assistance (TA), under the Refugee Technical Assistance Program. This national hub will provide coordinated, innovative TA and training to ORR-funded state refugee programs and ORR-funded refugee service providers, filling gaps where no other such TA exists. The TA provider is expected to foster and engage with a network of subject matter experts in the field, through consultancy or sub-contractual relationships. The overall goal is to equip ORR-funded state refugee programs and ORR-funded refugee service providers with the specialized TA, resources and training needed to appropriately address barriers that refugees may encounter while trying to access community-based services, education, employment, and specialized care. The TA provider will respond to refugees' unique challenges and needs, and leverage the strengths, talents and capabilities of refugees and their resettlement communities through a strengths-based approach to TA. The TA provider is also intended to help ORR-funded refugee service providers measure the effectiveness of their programs and services, and develop communication strategies that reflect the impact of the refugee program. The TA provider will conduct regular needs assessments of the field to determine the areas of TA focus, which may include refugee self-sufficiency through employment, trauma-informed refugee health, refugee child and family wellbeing, and program evaluation.
