This is Google's free experimental sequencer, created in 2018. There is very little verbal information - it is intuitive, simple and easy, and could be used with very young students. It also could be used by someone who doesn't read English.

This is another great, simple, web-based music sequencer that can be used to allow students to experiment with composition without needing to know anything about reading music or writing music notation. There is a large amount of sounds available and the sounds are of high quality. It is very simple to use and students can start composing right away using this site.

Audacity is an audio editing tool used to alter recordings and export them into various formats. Used as an educational tool students are able to record, edit, and add digital effects to recordings to remix or compose creative musical products. Music educators may also find it valuable for editing recordings of performances or demonstrating the properties of sound. Classic Cat is a website that hosts over 6,000 classical recordings. The user is able to look up songs by composer, title and genre. It also houses a link to "Young Composers". Each recording is a full recording. This is perfect supplement to any Music Appreciation lesson plan while studying the Classical Era.

This is a discussion by New York Times columnist, David Brooks, and Kathy Fletcher, and the director of Turnaround Arts Initiative about the important work that Turnaround Arts does through the strategic use of the arts. The discussion talks about how music facilitates brain development, why certain things in music leave people fascinated, and what magic music brings to emotion. The discussion also unfolds how the arts, and music education in particular opens the student's mind to memorisation. David Brooks says "Students understand better when topics are introduced through music". I agree with that because most students become more alert when a topic is introduced through song and it fosters the interest of students. Therefore we need arts to succeed in education. A lot of artists came from struggling backgrounds so when they talk to children that would like to succeed in the music world but are frightened that they'll never make it, they tell them "I know what you are going through but you can make it". This encourages those children to push on and excel in the arts. Kathy Fletcher says music boosts critical thinking and confidence which is ideal for students and they end up excelling in all other fields. The arts connect us all through music in a way that music created is shared all around the world. Partnerships are created to perform music and people come together to listen to music. This makes us one.

This is the professional organization that represents and advocates for the use of Kodaly concepts in music classrooms. Typically General Music and choir but may include instrumental pedagogy.

This website is a must use for any general music or choral teacher. It contains information regarding conferences and certification courses, as well as resources. Kodaly is a wonderful method with an emphasis on singing, music literacy, and folk songs. In the Kodaly method, teachers learn to prepare, present and practice concepts with students. Teachers also discover the importance of developing their own musicianship

This website provides a wealth of information and resources for the elementary music teacher. These resources include: games, stories, songs (lyrics and chords provided), games to be played in music class, etc.

This site includes scale sheets, rhythm charts and bowing examples for orchestra students and teachers.  I have used this site with my school students and private students.

This string specific website has lots of great resources for working on different skill-sets. I particularly like this for the finger pattern exercises and rhythmic reading tunes. This helps to work on rhythm, intonation, sight-reading, and scale work.

This website is a comprehensive resource for string teachers which includes etudes, scale sheets, bowing resources, and more. Many resources are available for printing and sharing directly with students.

An online marketplace for teachers to buy and sell classroom resources. I have found many free and low cost worksheets, visuals and even lesson plans online. Resources include worksheets for pitch, rhythm, composers, specific songs, like the Star Spangled Banner and so much more. A valuable resource for a teacher who does not want to "recreate the wheel" OR who is creative and likes to "recreate the wheel" and earn a little cash doing it!

Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), is a great resource for lesson plans, bulletin boards, and so much more! While most resources are free, some you do have to pay for.

This would be a great source for teachers who need the documentation for certain topics. This website provides every grade level, along with every subject being provided. There are lots of information on this source for free, and there are also many sources that are not free. But it depends on what you want or need. The purpose of this sources is to give teachers a wide range of things, that they may need in their classrooms.

Class recorder method by Texas music educator, Jo Lynn Cookus. The method is based on common American folk songs that are commonly taught in elementary settings, and therefore integrates well with common curricular models including Kodaly and Orff. It is a lesser-known alternative to common recorder methods including Recorder Express, Recorder Karate, etc. The author is a seasoned music educator with 30+ years of music education experience teaching elementary education, choir, and band.

This is a great website to use for free printable piano, vocal, guitar, fiddle and violin music.  There are varied levels for the piano music, which also has a wide range of repertoire.  Each song for piano also comes in different versions, either right hand only, chords added with the right hand, fingerings written in or the entire song.  

This website has a large database of public domain sheet music that is on a beginner student level. This website is a great resource for pulling repertoire for beginner students.

This YouTube channel has many song tutorials for the ukulele. I often use this as a resource when my students have their own ukulele and want to learn on their own time. This resource is great for elementary all the up to adult ukulele learners!

This website is a spin off of a Podcast from Mrs. Miracle. MusiQuest is an application designed to utilize technology to make music education accessible, creative and fun, and in keeping with digital advancement. Different music genres, personalize learning, cross curricular studies, song writing and sketching, melody, and, literacy and drama are a few of the attractions fo this website.

CadenzaStringsNC is a YouTube channel created by Kevin Yen, Violinist and Violist. He has recorded and created playlists of many books and repertoire lists, including several volumes of the Suzuki Violin and Viola series. Some of his videos are also with the accompaniment for the songs or have practice tracks recorded at a slower tempo. This is a helpful resource for anyone preparing this literature for solo and ensemble performances as students can have an accurate example of the music to listen to at home and follow along with the correct bowings.

Sometimes students have trouble with understanding what to listen for while singing or don't pay attention to anything other than their own individual part of the ensemble. This blog describes creative a ways to enhance how students listen within the choral ensemble.

This website offers many applications to help teach virtually anyone to play piano. These apps use the latest gaming software to help make learning the piano fun.

JoyTunes makes absolutely phenomenal piano learning apps, especially PianoMaestro, which I use with my second graders. They download the app on their iPads, and it guides them through the basics of piano playing, all the way through playing simple songs and melodies. It's definitely worth checking out!

This is a great Prezi I happened to find as I was looking for resources to teach "Sansa Kroma" to my third graders. If you use that song in your setting, it's worth checking out!

This website offers an abundance of music you can order for your performing groups, soloists, mixed ensembles, etc. There a variety of way to search for specific types of music such as "Holiday", "Classical", "Sacred", etc. J.W. Pepper has a wide collection from well known publishers. This is my go to choice for when it comes to ordering music for my program. You also have the ability to narrow your search down by grade level which makes it very easy when planning your program.

J. W. Pepper is an excellent website/resource for sheet music, accompaniment tracks, and much more. Their customer service is excellent. Many of the songs have a play feature so you can listen easily. You can search by genre, voicing, holiday, and pretty much any other category to find exactly the right song for your students.

J.W. Pepper is an online retailer for sheet music. They sell all kinds of music, from solo parts to full band parts. Most of the music they sell also has a demo track so the music can heard before a purchase is made.

Musication is a YouTube channel that offers boomwhacker, body percussion and handbell play-longs for students. The site is intended for elementary music, but can be used with any age. There is a wide variety of songs on the site and he has a facebook page as well. The site is based out of the Netherlands
