An online marketplace for teachers to buy and sell classroom resources. I have found many free and low cost worksheets, visuals and even lesson plans online. Resources include worksheets for pitch, rhythm, composers, specific songs, like the Star Spangled Banner and so much more. A valuable resource for a teacher who does not want to "recreate the wheel" OR who is creative and likes to "recreate the wheel" and earn a little cash doing it!

Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), is a great resource for lesson plans, bulletin boards, and so much more! While most resources are free, some you do have to pay for.

This would be a great source for teachers who need the documentation for certain topics. This website provides every grade level, along with every subject being provided. There are lots of information on this source for free, and there are also many sources that are not free. But it depends on what you want or need. The purpose of this sources is to give teachers a wide range of things, that they may need in their classrooms.

Collection of 428 folk songs organized by categories (origin, subject, grade level, melodic, elements, sequence of concepts, etc.) The songs follow Kodály Method sequence of introducing music concepts/elements. Excellent resource for elementary teacher.

This is the entire American Folk Song collection. This excellent resource can be used by educators to print out folk songs to use to teach their students specific music skills such as singing, audiating, pitch, and rhythm. The website even gives activity ideas to use for each specific song.

This website provides free lesson plans and ideas for various grade levels and subject areas. There are filters that can be set to search for specific lesson plans within a certain subject and grade level. The website provides various lesson plans for grade levels PreK through 12th.

This site advocates for music edcuation. It provides information through blogs, articles, and research. The topics of discussion include arts as a core subject, formal teacher evaluation procedure for arts classes, engaging students in music classes, and the importance of providing an arts education to every student. A nice aspect of this site is that it provides information not only in the form of text, but also graphs and charts. This makes the information presented easy to comprehend for a larger audience. Teachers can use the informaion from these research studies and blogs to ensure that their music program is genuinely helping all of the students and to educate themselves on the importance of music education/its place in todays changing views on the arts as a core subject.

PBS also has a teacher page, beside the public page. Here you can get very specific down to the grade in the subject area that can be chosen. Here I chose the arts. There are videos from music to theatre.

This website provides band directors with a variety of practical resources. Many topics are covered including fingering charts, recruiting, annotated music lists, music history, links to music organizations, and much more.

This site features band, choir, orchestra, classroom, music, etc..  Is link provides countless information that is particular to that subject.  This site will be very helpful this school year.  I will also share it with my colleagues to make their lives a little easier as well.

HotChalk Lesson Plans offer a multitude of online resources in regards to lesson plans. The plans can be modified to fit a specific grade level and it shows what other subject area the lesson plan overlaps with. The lesson plans list materials needed to complete the activity and provides related lesson plans at the bottom of the page. Teachers can also share their own lesson plans on the page. There is also a tab for news and tips that teachers can look at to aid in different types of learning.

This website provides a multitude of tools for music teachers, among other subjects. The website contains lesson plans and teaching strategies for grades K-12. There are lessons on world music, on instruments (such as building instruments), as well as the history of musical genres. The free version is limited, but the premium version is fairly inexpensive.

Resource for UF Masters of Music Education. This site is helpful in planning lessons for application of new ideas. I love that it has something to offer every teacher from grades K-12.

I use this website sometimes to help out with some of my lesson plans if I'm in need of worksheets to help back up the topic that is chosen for that particular week. This is good for any teacher because it provides a variety of different worksheets for many topics.

TED talks is such a great resource for a variety of ways. You can find streams of different talks relating to specific subjects. You search what you are interested in will get several search results. This can be used for personal professional development or to show in the classroom.

This website has a great collection of activities that involve music as well as other subjects.

This page is a good beginners who need a crash course in Music History or for those  who need a quick brushing up on a subject before an exam.

Great website that describes apps for different educational subjects. Additionally, the website has links for how to use apps for teaching. The website is easily maneuverable and is organized by genre and each app lists the cost, description as well as the iOS platform. Excellent website for educators learning about using iOS in their classrooms. 

The Cool Cat Teacher Blog is written maintained by educator, Vicki Davis. Her mission is to keep teachers inspired and motivated. This is not specifically a music education resource, but the information contained on the blog can be helpful for teachers of any subject area. I am specifically interested in the aspect of Social Media and the Classroom.

This is absolutely ridiculous. If your instrument has elephant ivory, even the tiniest bit, and it was made after the 1976 agreement regarding import of elephant ivory, it is considered contraband - and the government can take it from you - when you travel. The silliest part is that many people are misinformed about the use of ivory in musical instruments. Piano keys - "those ivories" - those are made from seal ivory, not elephant ivory. I wonder how much ivory used in other instruments is elephant ivory.

Thanks for sharing this! I have to figure out how to travel to Bolivia in a couple weeks with my baroque bow, which has an ivory frog.

SMART Exchange is a website that allows users to create a free account. After creating a free account, users may upload and share any presentation that the user has made. Also, a great resource to search for presentations that have been made. You can search by subject area, grade, or any topic that you wish to search.

Teachnology offers music educators a vast assortment of planning tools for all subject areas, including music education. Plans are broken down by age levels to make planning easier. These plans could easily be taken and tweaked for any music classroom, more than likely leading to the creation of original ideas by educators.

My research focuses on the use of music for self-regulative purposes in adolescents to achieve higher learning outcomes. This archive provides useful information on this subject pertaining to child development, learning, and health. 

This is the website for the Instrumentalist Magazine where you can read the articles online if you are a subscriber.  Links to other magazines and summer music camps are also provided.

This is a website of user submitted articles on a variety of subjects regarding instrumental music instruction. This includes ensemble rehearsals, individual and group lessons, classroom management and many more. There are subscription options available as well as directories and indexes for further research.

This website helps to assist teachers in finding example lesson plans for their subject matter.  The site also allows students to search and find a teacher for their instrument.  I would benefit from the lesson plans feature particularly for music theory.
