Edmodo non è EdMondo. Si tratta di una piattaforma digitale per gruppi di educatori e di studenti. Purtroppo non esiste una versione in italiano, ma è popolarissima negli Stati Uniti e nei paesi di lingua spagnola. Disponibile anche in francese e tedesco.  Consiglio di iscriversi come "teacher" ma prima di tutto di esplorare qualche tutorial in YouTube.

@ Angela: credo che tu stia parlando di EdMondo, con la N. Che è un'altra cosa. @ Luisella: sì, sul cloud, da dove resta accessibile a tutti e ovunque, e da dove è improbabile che venga cancellato. Il server locale è più vulnerabile agli incidenti, secondo me. I servizi online invece possono "imballarsi" a causa del sovraffollamento, come abbiamo tutti sperimentato con i siti ministeriali, o con il sito dell'AIE, nel periodo delle adozioni dei testi scolastici.

@Lucia: Nel mio commento parlo di tutte e due . Confermo il tuo giudizio positivo sulla piattaforma Edmodo, ma aggiungo di star sperimentando anche EdMondo, per ribadire due nuove tecniche di insegnamento molto apprezzate delle nuove generazioni che meritano di essere sperimentate per capire come utilizzarle affiancandole alla didattica tradizionale.

As educators debate what the classes mean for the future of traditional universities, one thing is clear - they provide a vast laboratory to study learning, using a trail of electronic data to examine what resources or study habits best help students, whether they take courses online or in traditional classrooms.

Whether you're new to technology, just getting started with a social network, or looking for some useful tips then these courses are for you. They're part of a new idea that I've been working on with a few friends. We're calling it Modern Lessons and it's essentially a 'Khan Academy for real-world skills' where a small handful of people build free online courses designed to help you learn some important things.

Il progetto Virtual Science nasce dalla voglia di condividere con altri docenti e con il mondo della formazione la mia esperienza nell'ambito delle scienze ed in particolare dell'applicazione delle nuove tecnologie nell'insegnamento, nella "didattica virtuale" e nell' e-learning in genere. Da sempre appassionata di informatica sono approdata da qualche anno nei mondi virtuali ed in particolare Opensim. Molte scuole e Università stanno da tempo cogliendo questa grande opportunità.  Nel campo della didattica ed in particolare nell'ambito scientifico-tecnologico è utile nella simulazione di fenomeni, nello studio della geometria dei solidi, nella ricostruzione di ambienti naturali. E' noto infatti come la modellizzazione dei fenomeni scientifici è un passo importante per la loro comprensione, senza contare come un ambiente "ludico" e motivante sia fondamentale per l'apprendimento.

"Posted by Dario Taraborelli on August 2, 2012 Improving the quality of articles has long been one of the primary aims of contributors to Wikipedia, and is one of the Wikimedia movement's 2010-15 strategic priorities, but measuring it objectively has remained a challenge. In 2005, Nature famously reported that Wikipedia articles on scientific topics contained just four errors per article on average, compared to three errors per article in the online edition of Encyclopaedia Britannica. Britannica objected to the report, but Nature stood by it, and the report remains widely cited today. Since that time, however, there have been relatively few independent analyses of Wikipedia article quality, despite the enormous growth of the project. Wikipedia today counts more than 23 million articles across languages (more than 4 million articles in the English Wikipedia alone) compared to 3.7 million total articles in 2005; today it ranks 6th by overall traffic according to Alexa, while it ranked 37th in 2005. The Wikimedia Foundation is announcing the release of a pilot study conducted by Epic, an e-learning consultancy, in partnership with Oxford University - "Assessing the Accuracy and Quality of Wikipedia Entries Compared to Popular Online Alternative Encyclopaedias: A Preliminary Comparative Study Across Disciplines in English, Spanish and Arabic." The study compared a sample of English Wikipedia articles to equivalent articles in Encyclopaedia Britannica, Spanish Wikipedia to Enciclonet, and Arabic Wikipedia to Mawsoah and Arab Encyclopaedia. 22 articles in the sample were blind-assessed by 2 to 3 native speaking academic experts each, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The small size of the sample does not allow us to generalize the results to Wikipedia as a whole. The "Teatro a Scuola" (Theater School) project, directed at 14-18 year-old, Real innovation lies in the involvement of students as writers, in a collaborative theatrical storytelling. During the theater workshop the teacher in charge of the project planned and implemented with the participants experimental activity that was inserted within the Italian program. Its purpose is to stimulate participants' creativity. It aims at to become an integral part of the activities foreseen by the school syllabus and to offer, next to the traditional learning method, a form of learning by doing. The project consists in three distinct, yet interdependent, moments: a first theoretical stage, which foresees a short series of lessons on the history of theater; a second stage dedicated to a theater workshop (elocution, lively reading, mime, song, dance etc.); and a final show, i.e. a genuine theatrical representation for the whole school and all citizens. Characteristics of innovation and experimentation of the project were that: students were not only actors but also authors and screenwriters; also, the project involved elders of the University of the Third Age (NGO)
