Museum und Archiv als Bildungsorte Museen und Archive sind das Gedächtnis unerer Gesellschaft. Sie sind wichtiger Objekt- und Informationsspeicher und legen Zeugnisse unserer Vergangenheit ab. In ihnen werden Informationen und Wissen aufbewahrt und generiert, die für Bildung und Erziehung herangezogen und für die Gesellschaft nutzbar gemacht werden. [Vgl. Gruber 2009, S. 72] Gruber, M. R. Tagung in Kooperation mit der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Medienwissenschaft, Fachgebiet Medienwissenschaft  Im Rahmen einer internationalen Tagung wenden wir uns den netzbedingten Veränderungen musealer Speicher und archivischer Dispositive zu. Sich zunehmend ins Digitale verlagernde Kulturtechniken bedingen Veränderungen der institutionellen Archiv-Verständnisse und damit des Aufbaus und der Nutzung analoger wie digitaler Sammlungsrepräsentationen. Wir fragen, welche Rückwirkungen dieser Wandel auf museale und kulturwissenschaftliche Objektbegriffe (auch technischer Medien) sowie auf künftige kuratorische und wissenschaftliche Tätigkeitsfelder erwarten lässt. Werden die Begriffe Original und Museum mit dem Einzug digitaler Archive und netzbasierter Speicher möglicherweise neu zu definieren sein? Und: Welche Probleme der Re-Präsentation bleiben gegenüber traditionellen Formen der Speicherung und Ordnung bestehen und welche kommen künftig hinzu?

Time travel through Bristol on the iPhone: The Time Traveller's Guide to Bristol project will launch a website later this week and an iPhone app at on July 28, allowing users to browse archive material and upload their own images of contemporary Bristol. It features 100 years of film and photography focused on six areas of Bristol, and invites users to superimpose archive material on a 3D model of contemporary shots - some of which were badly damaged during WW2, like Castle Park.

19th Century Poor Law Union and Workhouse Records: You can search and download documents from a number of Poor Law Unions across England and Wales, from series reference MH 12. We are fortunate to be able to provide free access to the records because this is a project by The National Archives with the aid of, and in partnership with, volunteers in several parts of the country.

Das Staatsarchiv ist bestrebt, einen ausgewählten Teil seines reichen Bildschatzes der Öffentlichkeit online zur Verfügung zu stellen. Dies geschieht über den Archiv-Katalog. Er enthält zur Zeit ca. 33'350 Bilder und Fotos aus unserer Bildersammlung. Das Angebot wird laufend ausgebaut.

Die digitale 3D-Rekonstruktion von Kulturdenkmälern ist eine längerfristige Projektinitiative der FHNW zum Aufbau eines interaktiven, digitalen 3D-Archivs von kulturhistorisch wertvollen Bauten und Objekten. Bei der Erstellung dieser virtuellen 3D-Modelle werden moderne geodätische Mess- und Auswerteverfahren eingesetzt und laufend weiter entwickelt. 3D Cultural Heritage erlaubt den Einbezug von Studierenden und ermöglicht diesen die intensive Auseinandersetzung mit kulturhistorisch wertvollen Objekten. Ausgehend von der Nordwestschweiz soll der regionale Schwerpunkt zukünftig auf die ganze Schweiz und das grenznahe Ausland ausgedehnt werden. Mit der Weiterentwicklung web-basierter 3D-Geoinformationstechnologien sollen die virtuellen Objekte aus dem Projekt schon bald der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden.
