This publication is a write up for a project done of tools for digital humanities and their importance. Since this discipline heavily relies on technology, newer and more efficient tools are always being invented. An example includes identification tools that help analyze word choice and use.

This website, arts-humanities.net, aims to support and advance the use and understanding of digital tools and methods for research and teaching in the arts and humanities by providing: information on projects creating and using digital content, tools and methods to answer research questions, information on tools and methods for creating and using digital resources, a listing of expert centers and individual researchers, a library documenting lessons learned through case studies, briefing papers, and a bibliography. The website encourages people to become members and to contribute.

The two annoted biblographies present in this publication document sparks future discussions toward the activity of modeling the social edition. THis annotated biblography first explores reading devices, tools and social media issues and second, social networking tools for professional readers in the Humanities.

This short article focuses on how visualizing data can be advantageous for the public and what kind of softwares can be used to create such projects. For instance, software "Tabeleau Public" is a desktop application that can post graphs, maps, and table sinto the web. "Flare" is a software relying on Flash and can create interactive data shared with other users. This article basically reveals the many ways to visualize data other than through the use of Microsoft Excel.

This program is designed to fund the implementation of innovative digital-humanities projects that have successfully completed a start-up phase and demonstrated their value to the field. These projects help us better understand the central problems in the humanities, and they also raise new questions in the humanities which help develop new digital applications and approaches for the use in the humanities. The digital humanities Implementation Grants programs seeks to identify projects that have successfully completed their startup phase and are well positioned to have a major impact. These grants involve, Implementation of computationally bases methods or techniques for humanities research; implantation of new digital tools for use in humanities research; implementation of new digital tools for use in humanities research, public programming, or educational settings; efforts to ensure the completion and long-term sustainability of existing digital resources; studies that examine the philosophical or practical implications of the use of emerging technologies in specific fields or disciplines of the humanties, or in interdisciplinary collaborations involving several fields or disciplines; or implementation of new digital modes of scholarly communication that facilitate peer review, collaboration, or the dissemination of humanities scholarship for various audiences.

This is an online site for the Center for Digital Research in Humanties at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The main goals of this center is to provide tools for research in the field (reference sources), compose creative digital content, and pushing the use of international standards. The center enjoys working with Digital Humanist to ease their projects by providing a venue for discussing, information, and tools. A lists of activities on the site include scanning, round tables, software, and assistance.

Audrey Altman is set to give a presentation at the University of Iowa entitled, "Attck of the Digital Map! The Wonderful Monsters We Create When Humanities and Technology Collide." In her upcoming presentation Audrey will discuss both historical analysis and digital mapping and the requirements that both bring to the table individually in any given project. Both are individually composed of different aspects and Audrey will try to discuss the pros and cons of both tools when used together simultaneously for one project. Altman will also highlight on the project that she and her undergraduate students have embarked upon this semester that attempts to utilize the two aspects into one project. She will attepmt to delve into the findings, triumphs, ailures, and education gained by she and her students throughout the whole experience.

This short blog post announces and advertises Audrey Altman's upcoming talk about digital mapping. This talk is designed to discuss how historical analysis of maps and digital mapping require different sets of skills and methodologies. She is speaking from the context of a project she is heading which is which is involving undergraduate students in to creation of map-based documents for an archive on Iowa Latino/a history. Her talk is going to talk about both problems and surprises involved with the project and digital mapping.

metaLAB is a research and teaching unit at Harvard University dedicated to exploring and expanding the frontiers of networked culture in the arts and humanities. They're part of the Graduate School of Design and work in Cambridge. It is defined as "a community of scholars, artists, designers, journalists, technologists, architects, and students engaged in team-based experiments that merge research, teaching, publication, social action, and the use and development of digital tools."

This future course at a University wants to show how the human and the new machine are used for research and teaching. Their online learning method is used to incorporate different learning styles that are used in research with computational tools and networks that are connected throughout the world. This class is designed to prepare students in the humanities and social sciences that use new ways of thinking, teaching and learning. Their hoping with showing how online learning better educates students that it transforms higher education making it more meaningful to the present and future. After students have finished this course they will leave with many e-portfolio projects, public online writing, multimedia and collaborative productions.

This guide is for teachers who face the challenge of teaching digitally in K-12 and how it can be used in a creative and collaborative way. Collaboration comes from the students and other teachers and needs to be incorporated into digital teaching so that they can learn from each other. Administrators need to be fully knowledgable about new technology so they can show the teachers who then show the students. They also want to create more study groups with digital tools for the students to collaborate more with each other.

Ostracology is a Tumblr for the course "Fragments of a Material History of Literature," taught by professor Jeffrey Schnapp and Matthew Battles of metaLAB at Harvard. It illustrates a way in which educators can utilize digital tools to better engage and challenge students. The instructors post lessons in blog-form for students to read, leave comments, and discuss. Also included are random class-related musings, invitations to events, and neat online finds.

To prepare for a digital discussion Sean Morris gathered information containing education technology that shows new ways to communicate and new organizational tools. In the beginning of his teaching career him and a coworker created a paperless class that forced students to turn in assignments online; eventually turning it into a fully online course. Educational technology classrooms are created worldwide to use new modern ways to teach. Through online learning, students can use smaller parts to create a bigger picture which are then small parts for the collaboration of all the students work that is brought together. He leaves the readers with many questions about how to make the information accessible and accurate across the internet.

A professor came and spoke to students and faculty about how students in higher education can integrate mapping tools into the classroom. They use these projects as organizational templates, spatial analysis, metaphors, graphs, and charts. She posts questions that should be asked before choosing the mapping approach for their projects.

The NEH's Office of Digital Humanities announces 5 institutes that will receive government grants to further their research. Included are the University of Texas at Austin's HiPSTAS, the University of Maryland, College Park's Digital Humanities Data Curation, George Mason University's Another Week | Another Tool - A Digital Humanities Barnraising, Folger Shakespeare Library's Folger Shakespeare Library Summer Institute for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities: "Early Modern Digital Agendas," and Arkansas State University's Humanities Heritage 3D Visualization: Theory and Practice.

This is an government website detailing resources and practices that fall into digital preservation. Digital preservation is a growing area with the advancement of technology. The website features sections that include partners, collections, tools showcase, multimedia & publications, meeting & events, and education & training.

This is another blog in the Dan Cohen series. In this one in particular, Cohen opens calling digital journalism and digital humanities "kindred spirits". He believes that these two areas of concentration would greatly benefit from working together. The areas in which would be the most profitable from partnership are listed and discussed. A few include use of common tools, platforms and infrastructures, and the idea that developers and technologists should be partners.

Blogger whose identity I could only trace to as John has written into this Digital Humanities website. He shares with us an announcement that Google has now opened their text mining project that allows for better searching using frequency of words and phrases. This tool is compared to a game using a Star Trek example.
