Early Education and Technology for Children (EETC) is an annual conference that brings researchers, policy makers, administrators, and educators together to present and discuss research and applications in the areas of preschool through elementary education.

I'll be presenting there along with Fran Simon and several others from this group!

I found the website that links you to other websites about using technology in the classroom and using technology when working with children with disabilities.

TotSpot integrates many aspects of technology together to create a Facebook-like network for parents and their child. The network is private and accessible to only account holders. Parents create an account then are able to add their children to the account on their own page. Pages can be shared through friend invite. The parents and children can upload pictures, videos, write journals, create developmental charts, and track milestones. Friends on the account can view items and make comments. With families living far apart and technology on the rise, families can keep track of their childrens' progress (even before birth!)

Blog on early education policy by the New America Foundation. According to their website, Early Education Watch "provides analysis, reporting, and commentary on early education, with a focus on policies that affect children's access to high-quality, aligned educational programs from ages 3 through 8. I haven't explored the blog well enough yet to see whether it contains information about technology and young children, but it's a good example of using technology to connect early childhood educators with public policy.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children Technology & Young Children Interest Forum has a website with information about their projects, and a link collection with information on "Tech with Children", "Tech Tools for Educators", "Tech at Home" and Research.

Very interesting website, with links to specific disabilities and how to incorporate assistive technology. There are some nice links for families, to understanding the law about assistive technology, transition, and how it applies to their child. What I particularly liked was that the information covers the lifespan.

Recipient of a PBS Innovative Educator Award and PBS Teacher's Choice Award, Brian Puerling helps early childhood educators explore the possibilities with technology by sharing ways to embrace new technology in the classroom, how to integrate and how the use of technology can enhance and augment practices that foster development.

The Early Childhood Technology Collaborative (ECTC). ECTC is a group of three early childhood technologists with lots of questions: Lilla Dale McManis, Ph.D. from Hatch Early Learning, Karen Nemeth, Ed.M. from Language Castle, and Fran Simon, M.Ed. from Engagement Strategies.

This is an easy-to-read, well laid out, developmentally appropriate list of what can be expected in students at different ages in regards to technology usage.
