This is a blog written by John Funk who "has worked in the early childhood field since 1979. He has taught preschool, first and second grades, and he spent the largest part of his teaching career in kindergarten. Mr. Funk was named "Utah Teacher of the Year" in 1996. He has worked as an early childhood specialist for a large school district and has managed early childhood services for Salt Lake CAP Head Start. He is past president of the Utah AEYC. As an early childhood, reading, and literacy consultant for the last decade, he has written on early childhood subjects and products for McGraw Hill and Leap Frog. He served on the editorial panel for Young Children magazine published by NAEYC. Currently, Mr. Funk is the Manager of Educational Programs for Excelligence Learning Corporation, and he teaches courses in children's literature and early reading at the University of Utah."

This blog is written by an early childhood teacher out of Australia. He uses it to share his experiences in his own classroom and offer ideas to other teachers or early childhood specialists from a Montessori perspective.

This is an example of a WordPress Blog written by a teacher from Austrailia who uses this to share his experiences in his early childhood classroom. This is a great resource for anyone working in a classroom because he offers great recipes to use in activity plans and shares his ideas on how an early childhood classroom should be run form a Montessori perspective.

The Early Childhood blog is concerned with policy issues and practices relevant to the field of early childhood studies. It is hoped that it will be of interest to students, researchers, and practitioners. Blogs include Ending a child poverty in a changing economy, Majority of chilldren living in poverty have at least one parent in work, Why is the dawn-to-dusk extended schools scheme failing the very families it is meant to help? These blogs are posted by different individuals, foundations and others who are interested in the field of early childhood education.

Blog on early education policy by the New America Foundation. According to their website, Early Education Watch "provides analysis, reporting, and commentary on early education, with a focus on policies that affect children's access to high-quality, aligned educational programs from ages 3 through 8. I haven't explored the blog well enough yet to see whether it contains information about technology and young children, but it's a good example of using technology to connect early childhood educators with public policy.

The Early Childhood Technology Collaborative (ECTC). ECTC is a group of three early childhood technologists with lots of questions: Lilla Dale McManis, Ph.D. from Hatch Early Learning, Karen Nemeth, Ed.M. from Language Castle, and Fran Simon, M.Ed. from Engagement Strategies.

Until now, there have only been a few broad-brush reports that lump 'technology' into single or narrow categories that don't provide the specifics needed to inform early education directors' decision-making. Some existing studies about young children and technology are focused on technology or television use at home. Other surveys focused on educational technology in K-12 classrooms. This study isolates classroom use of interactive technology tools.

This site contains a lot of information that would be useful for early childhood educators. The blog highlights current issues with education of young children throughout the country. The different entries can be sorted by topic or by state. All of the entries provide the link to the actual publication. Also if an entry is opinionated, it is sometimes labeled that way.

Early Education and Technology for Children (EETC) is an annual conference that brings researchers, policy makers, administrators, and educators together to present and discuss research and applications in the areas of preschool through elementary education.
