Storyboard That is a robust web tool that allows students to create and edit Storyboards. This site is simple to use and allows users to drag and drop stick figures and screen elements, as well as add their own content, to the storyboard time line. Enough tools and features to be really useful and not too many to confuse young users, this is a nice way for students to create storyboards for class projects, videos, or anything else you can think of including comic strips. There is a nice educator portal which has some lesson plans and example student work. Not free, but free trial and reasonably priced for teachers

The site, which is also available as an app for iPhone and iPad, features user-created lessons that bring together Web pages, videos, Google Books e-books and other items on a specific topic. At the moment, only a relatively small group of people approved by the site - including some teachers - can create these "learnings," but anyone can check them out. This resource is hands-on, constructivist, engaging, and relevant to students ages 13 and up. There are a variety of activities, including one especially for classes that read Elie Wiesel's book Night, videos that address ethical editing, a built-in online video editor, and more.

A new Web 2.0 service facilitates compilation of "learning playlists" containing links to articles and videos that educators can make available to their students and others. MentorMob, from a company by the same name, is a free Web site that provides a repository for aggregating and organizing online educational resources. Once material is added, the viewer, such as a student, can work through the playlist in "steps."

Set of video tutorials explaining some off beat tricks with Word that give value added features to viewing the document on a PC. Pop Up Boxes, embedding video inside the Word document (plays in the page), etc.

This site is amazing! You have to try it because I can't explain it well enough to do it justice. Super cool! A great resource for history/social studies classes or English Language Arts/Reading classes to put a book time period into perspective for students. Select a year and view videos from that year. You can select sports, video games, commercials, current events, television, movies, and music from that specific year. 

How to tap into Creative COmmons resources

If your students are using images, video, or music in the final products that they are producing for your class, then it is INCREDIBLY important that you introduce them to the Creative Commons -- an organization that is helping to redefine copyright laws.

Use existing content or create your own including uploading videos, recording screencasts, and embedding objects for your flipped class lessons.
