Hi Harvey,
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am a middle school language arts teacher and I was able to find the SMART exchange page from you posting. I am pioneering with a SMART board on wheels in my classroom with minimal support so this is great.
Calling all Administrators with teachers that use SMARTBoards! This is a resource that your teachers will love. The book shows how to use teaching templates made in Notebook (SMARTBoard) software. The book explains how to access the free templates from www.teachingwithsmartboard.com
More Smartboard resources from Teacher Online Training. Some nice easy to understand videos, easy navigation, and great exemplar files. I still need to do some exploring of the files, but liked the two I looked at today.
Download a free gallery collection file for your SMARTBoard. There are pre-made graphs that you can slide into any lesson with ease. Graphs include standard rectangle graphs, polar graphs, trig graphs, number lines, and special colored graphs.
I'm not sure of the cost but this could be another alternative to smartboards. The document camera would be REALLY beneficial and save in cost because teachers will not have to keep photocopying transparencies.
I use a Mimio pad: it is awesome.
I observed a demonstration at NSTA conference of document camera and I think it also includes a microscope attachment. The whole system seems phenomenal.
It's a great system, and it's cheaper than a SMARTboard. I had one at my previous workplace. If I recall correctly, you can even use SMARTexchange activities with the mimio.
2nd Edition of free school year wall calendar (pdf/smartboard friendly version as well) that provides suggested conflict resolution related activities in the top half of the page, important dates in the bottom. 5-copy school-packs can be sent to schools at no cost while supplies last. Great stuff.
Fantastic set of computer-based language resources...the word magnets tool alone is worth the 30-seconds it takes to download and install! Spice up your SMARTBoard interactions as well.
There are several websites that have French Notebook files or websites that work great on the SMARTBoard. Here is the list that I have collected. If anyone has more to add, please add them so everyone can benefit.
