Identifying ways to help teachers think about assessment holistically rather than as a summative piece and create a plan to assess learning through an entire unit. Good quick read.

I think this is a great idea. I have students highlight two to three details from the site they bookmark, and summarize the quote in their own words as a comment as part of their reading. At the end they have all of their comments in one place and it provides them insights into putting the work into their own words and helps with plagiarism. I can then have them look at each others bookmarks/comments and make connections.

After doing this kind of research they have a jump on the actual writing of the report or presentation, and the writing doesn't seem as daunting. Good luck.

Coincidentally, I wondered in 1996 why we were investing so heavenly in ensuring that we create a generation of fifth graders with terrific secretarial skills?

Interesting approach to timelines in history. Not a fan of the interface, but very interesting approach to include Google searches as part of the information. Why try to write it all when it's available at your fingertips. This might be an interesting new resource for teachers/students.

y StoryMaker lets you control characters and objects - and creates sentences for you! Once you are done with your story, you can print it out. You cannot go back and edit a story once you have ended it but, if you click "yes" when asked to share it with others, you can print it out again by entering the magic number it gives you in the box on the right. Since lack of space forces us to delete story files older than 1 month, please save the .pdf file that prints to your own computer.
