The Negative Impact of Employee Poor Personal Financial Behaviors on Employers Author: E. Thomas Garman, Irene E. Leech and John E. Grable This article demonstrates that there are substantial costs to employers caused by the stresses associated with poor personal financial behaviors of employees. Approximately 15% of workers in the United States are currently experiencing stress from poor financial behaviors to the extent that it negatively impacts their productivity. The proportion of workers experiencing financial problems that negatively impact productivity for a single employer could range as high as 40 to 50% depending upon certain factors. The costs of reduced employee productivity because of poor personal financial behaviors are substantial. The full extent of the costs to employers is unknown. We have dealt with 9 Buzzard in the past 5 years and all of them have had fractures and internal injuries which had caused them to need putting to sleep. We have even transported them to other rescue centre elsewhere in the country for specialist veterinary advice and support, but they have all had to be put to sleep. New Regional Worklessness Fund for LAA and MAA Areas 13/11/2009 A new funding opportunity will shortly be launched by the SW RIEP Local Economy Programme. A combination of funding from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and SW RIEP will be used to assist local authorities and their partners as they work to alleviate worklessness and deliver their worklessness related LAA and MAA targets. The funding will be used in two ways: * each LAA or MAA area will be invited to submit a proposal to draw down funding to support projects addressing the causes and effects of worklessness in their area * Regional Worklessness Network will be established to supplement the individual project proposals from local authorities
