And even better it's available as a free download. You can't beat that for a bargain. The FabLearn Fellows initiative brings together experienced educators from all over the world to create an open-source library of curriculum and contribute to research about the "makers" culture and digital fabrication in education."

Gazette » Changing Society: Why Teachers Need to Embrace Technology - 5 views

  • Most teachers still embrace a textbook based style of learning within the classroom. The student is forced to retain, recite, and regurgitate knowledge taught by the lecturer. In my humblest opinion, students are controlled to be mindless robots while the teacher becomes the controller of the hoard. There is no engagement of critical thinking or higher learning. The students are not required to think for themselves. Many teachers of this old school of thought are suppressing the promotion of learning and creativity. Students need active engagement. Technology links students to an exciting, innovative educational experience.

A Principal's Reflections: A Science Resource for Principals - 0 views

  •
"I am extremely excited that my second book is now available through Solution Tree entitled What Principals Need to Know About Teaching and Learning Science. It was a great deal of fun co-authoring this book with Keith Devereaux, one of my Science teachers at New Milford High School. It is our hope that this book becomes the go to resource for principals looking to establish and maintain effective science programs that focus on doing science as opposed to just knowing. Principals will not only find the latest research on effective science instruction, but also tips for integrating technology, purchasing materials, assessment, and establishing safe lab environments."
