bookmarks open in tabs - 54 views

firefox tabs

    Hi buckoa51!

    Yes, there is.
Click on any link by the right mouse button and you may see Open in New tab option.
Momentarily, i don't know whether that is an built-in feature of Firefox ( i suppose you use Firefox because of the 'tab') or...
If you can't see this option you must download one or two or Firefox extension(s)
    - tab_history-1.0.4-fx.xpi
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=tab+history&status=4
    - tab_mix_plus-0.3.5.2-fx.xpi
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=tab+mix&status=4
    and more on ...tabs

    Hi buckoa51!

Could you find useful my tips for installing tab Add-ons for Firefox?
They are all installed under my Firefox and really improve its work.
The most recently downloaded one by me
Multiple Tab Handler which you can reach at my given 3. link.
It can arrange the tabs by mouse which feature not maintained in the Tab-Mix-plus although the latter knows very much!!!
They work generally for every task browsed with Firefox not only for Diigo!
    I like them!

editing highlighted text - 50 views

edit highlight

    Hi!

I agree, about there would be some improvement in Diigo similarly as made in Google Notebook=GNB. For example a draggable arranging of the highlights + making them collapsible and expandable and even the bookmarked pages order too. I put some topics of suggestion also regarding to it.

But, consider a difference of the funcionality of highlighting in GNB and Diigo.
Although, you are in right that the edit highlight feature is big in GNB, but i feel it functions as a contracted highlight and sticky two-in one.
As you can make it similarly with a + manipulation in DIIGO! Highlight any text in DIIGO copy that to the clipboard invoke a sticky, paste the higlighted text into the sticky and do any modification on the text with the rich text editing feature of the sticky.

suggestion: it would be at best improving to allow a + sticky action or putting a plus command to the floating right menu of diigo or diigo menu in the context menu when higlighting which picks up the higlighted text immediately to the sticky in one-step without + user action to copy&paste ( as it would be preferenced for example in the Adobe commenting system)

'highlight & sticky pick up the text'

    Hi Maggie!

You pointed out in above 2. there is a Copy command on the Diigo right menu.
Tthis had escaped from my detection until, owing to i was not curious about the editing highliight, much rather the dragging & collapse/expand feature which is really cool in GNB. And it would be really considered in the MyBookmarks Expanded view in Diigo.
In case of you had read my post #2 if the Copy command are allowed why not the Paste also would be? Although, it is also just an + opreration as a CTRL-V (Paste). It would be replaced by a more complex command copy+paste the highlighted text intu the sticky immediately under the right Diigo menu "Highlight & Sticky & Picp up the text" as I considered.

    Thanks,

For example, when a marketing person doing research, the ability to save and share this type of media becomes useful. Another example, I sometimes see some funny clips that I'd like to save and share with others :-) I'm the one that nags our team to get this feature implemented, haha!
    >
    > Now we make that into an optional On / Off feature , it should not be disturb users' normal browsing activities. A new toolbar will soon be released that will allow you to tag your video clipping as well. Our goal is to make Diigo a very versatile platform / service that can be easily customizable to suit your needs.

Sizeable Sticky pop-up & misleading of sticky or comment - 35 views

bug comment feature sticky note
  • iplnts

    1. A group member or an invited friend can add 'a comment' to an existing sticky in Browser View of an annotated page when he clicks on a link in the Group Bookmark or get an invitation. Both the Comment and the Sticky would be Rich Text edited which is a very excellent mode following the reviews.

Suggestion: It would be nice if the sticky pop-up in Browser View would be sizeable by mouse (+ scrolling deafult feature). Or at least in case of only scrolling ability the sticky pop-up would be larger fitting for the actual window position.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    2. When a bookmarks' owner oversees the bookmarked pages in MyBookmarks Expanded view he can glance over every notes and he can initiate an 'Add Sticky'

    observation:
There is an inconsistency here!!! Owing to the sticky posted by the owner from here is not a new sticky in fact. It will be displayed both in this view and also in Browser View as 'a comment'.

    suggestion:
Independently whether it is designed for functioning either a sticky or comment, it would be nice to improve both the sticky or the comment allowing the rich text editing similarly as it is in Browser View

    additional suggestions:
+ Due to the clear-cutting would be here in MyBookmarks Expanded view making the sequentally listed highlights to be collapsible/expandable ( as also it is in the GoogleNotebook) perhaps draggable to change the order arbitrarly. (if it is resoluble)
+ The shadow color of highlights boxes would be consistent with the general highlighting colors ( yellowish which has no sticky, bluish has sticky...)

    Thanks, for your consideration

    HI!

I havent got yet any reaction to this post.
The 1. first point is not so important, but the 2. is really confusing. See again below again ...

improve the Diigo Group Forum with a ranking system - 63 views

discussion feature forum vote suggestion
  • iplnts

    Hi!

suggestion: The ranking sytem would be allowed both for the user and censured over by the owner setting the priority order based on using a little examine pop-up window hovering the mouse over a topic's head which can bring forth the content of the topic without opening that. Both the ranking sytem and the pop-up would be useful overviewing of listed topics both for the owner and the group members before reacting.

Sorting/ filtering the forum by author and/or author's last post - 52 views

feature filter forum sort suggestion
  • iplnts

    Hi!

Altough the group bookmarks may be filtered by the author, the forum post order can only be filtered by tags or category. In the forum view one can't see for example the joined user only the tags, also in the group bookmarks view one can't see the tags.

    suggestion:
+ Could it be both the group bookmarks and forum posts filtered by both tags or category and user/author, too? Putting both the tagcloud and userscloud displayed.
+ Or at least in the forum view the forum topics could it be sorted somehow by user/author?
+ Somehow the Last Posts also filtered or sorted by a choosen author name?

This latter one would be quite impoving to ease following one's review his/her posted new or/and related topics.
For example i'm mainting now to follow my running new and related topics at Diigo in a local text file which is a little miserable to copy and paste topics headers & links....:(

    Thanks, for considering
