  • Mars - Life on Mars has been long speculated. Liquid water is widely thought to have existed on Mars in the past, and there may still be liquid water beneath the surface. Many theories attepmt to take a view on the issue but they are too ofeten criticized with things that are still unexplainable.

      The fact that brain activity comes before mental activity is a very interesting evidence that our rationale is the effect of nerves and cells and thus provide an insight to the physical quality of conciousness rather than just assuming that consciousness is separate from our physical body as if the body were to be possesed by a conscious soul.

      Here is the argument for creationism, a way to push the question to a supreme being as the only explanation of something we are ignorant of. I do not mean to say that it is wrong; in fact it "might" be true, but this answer is as good as a simple "I don't know." There was a lecture on psychology I saw and it says that the idea of creationism is just "unsatisfying and unhelpful" which means a lot when we're trying to find a solution that can really help us understand the workings of our mind.

Now, when you think of glass, you might think of colorful Chihuly designs or maybe Italian vases, but kids challenge glass artists to go beyond that into the realm of broken-hearted snakes and bacon boys, who you can see has meat vision.       I second this quote because I think it's simply true. A child's imagination has no boundried. Unlike an adult, all they know is how to act "childish" and I think it's a great source if you use it.

    the part that stood out for me the most is when she said "children are better than adults, because children just imagine all they want, while adults put limitations on the real world." In my point of view, this is just plain bull crap. True, older people put limitation on what they think, but that's because they know better. We all know that mass-producing transformer is nothing but a child's creative imagination, and does it make children better than adults by thinking that? I don't think so.

    Kids do need to be heard more by adults. Some times children have better ideas and solutions then some adults. When kids go to there parents to help them with there math homework. Most of the time they don't understand and have to pay for a tooter. If this is the case dose this mean children are able to comprehend situations better than adults. By being able to salve and understand problems faster and easier.

    Well we listened to Adora Svitak who says adults should learn from kids as much as kids learn from adults. I have to say that's very true. My experience with adults is that they always say that they are right, always doing stuff for our own good...I don't think that's really true. My parents always say what I'm allowed to or not to do. It's not like in ever irrational event happens, I want to do. No, that's really not it. I obviously have weighted the consequences and chose not to do something or to do something. This classroom for an example is definitely of the lack of trust and that adults should listen to kids once in a while. A lot of us in this tell our teacher that we think whats up have no real.....effect on our education. It's not like we're lazy (sometimes we are, but not this), but we just don't get the purpose of it. I think that this is a great clip for adults to watch. I do wonder though, how many of the adults there actually took that session to heart. I wonder how many of them turned and just commented that was adorable or something? I get that sometimes when I tried to make a valid point...

    The universe is full of power, earth is a tiny piece of the whole universe. Human already knew how to use the nature power and that power makes our life much better. If we can use universe power, our life must be cooler. The earth is rotating the sun and the sun is rotating too. If we use the power of rotating, we can save a lot of energy. And if we understand of the universe, we can stop a lot of farm to happen. The space has huge power and the power is harmful, a single planet can be destroyed by the power. If we can use the power and know things earlier, then there will be less problems, and human life will be longer. People are trying to use solar energy now, where sun lights create power and it's a good way to save energy. "There has been a dramatic decrease in cost and prices over the past 12 months, which puts utilities in a strong position to bargain," says Chris O'Brien, head of market development for Oerlikon Solar. The Swiss company launched its solar group in 2007, offering end to end manufacturing lines for thin film PV. O'Brien says first-generation thin film customers in Europe have a manufacturing cost of approximately $1.50/W for a thin film PV module. His company's goal is to drive costs to around $0.70/W by the end of next year. With the current cost structure, including federal incentives, a 10 MW PV plant in California can have a delivered cost of electricity of around $0.15/kW. O'Brien says he expects that to fall below $0.10/kW by 2012. I really like this quote, because it told us how much money that the solar energy is saving for us. And it also told us, if we use the nature power, we can do a lot to keep our earth healthier.

    I'm learning more about extraterrestrial life right now, and in particular I'm wondering about is: Is there life on Mars, or in space at all? I was researching this question online and this news item caught my attention because It discusses the Vatican's approach on researching Extraterrestrial life. The Vatican is a major congregation of the Catholic church in Rome. ''Both science and religion posit life as a special outcome of a vast and mostly inhospitable universe,'' he told a news conference Tuesday. ''There is a rich middle ground for dialogue between the practitioners of astrobiology and those who seek to understand the meaning of our existence in a biological universe.'' The quote I chose here is basically saying that a common stance is met between scientists that want to research Extraterrestrial-ism and rather more religious people that want to research it. I think this is shocking because... It makes me wonder why would the Vatican of all things want to seek information about Alien Life. I would assume that the Vatican, would oppose any beliefs that life exists outside of earth. The article also mentions that it was appropriate that the Vatican would host such a meeting, this honestly makes me a little paranoid.

    I'm learning more about Metallica's murder case right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is what Metallica's feelings about this is. I was researching the status of this online, and this article caught my attention because it was the first link on Google News. The caption mentioned band member Kirk Hammett's opinion on the matter, so I clicked on it since I was curious to his particular thoughts, knowing Kirk Hammett to be a more softer soul in the heavy metal band. "Last week, Metallica's Kirk Hammett spoke about Harrington's case. "We are staying positive that she will be found soon," he said. "We are all hoping for the best and praying for her and her family. We all have children and as parents ourselves, it's our worst nightmare for a child to go out and not come back home. We empathize with that greatly, so we are doing what we can to help find her. We are staying positive." The quote I chose here is basically saying that Kirk Hammett fully understands the sadness that comes with a missing child, and that it's something everyone fears. However, Metallica is staying positive and optimistic that something positive will turn up.

    "Can the alllure of gameplay be a force that draws people together?" Mcgonigal talks about massively multiplay gaming. She believes that instead of building games that are very different from the reality, she wants to build reality within the games.She starts off by telling the history of game and the father of games, herotitus. She saids that the core focus in game play is to engage yourself within the system. She also states that she believes that people play games because when they're playing a game, they're not suffering. I think this is true because people feel happy when they play a game that they like. Whenever I'm bored and unhappy, I go to my computer and start playing one of my favorite games. I really like the examples that she gives. One of the examples is world of warcraft. Tons of people play this game and wish that it were to become true because people online are so much more cooperative than people in reality. Before watching this video, I never thought about this kind of stuff before. I've always wondered what kinds of new games they would create since games are starting to become boring. I think that there should be more reality games instead of make believes so that we can learn from those games to live a better life. We can treat those games as personal trainers. I think that it would benefit many people because because there is a high percentage attraction towards games.

    Well right know, we are learning about gaming. I never really thought about the new technology that's going to be produce for gaming since I always really just thought about the games. I do wonder though what kind of technology would be produced. I hope it's pretty cool though like one of those future movies excluding the part where it takes over humans....I rather not be running around with little robots chasing me. Yeah, that really doesn't sound to appealing "This is ancient dice from the kingdom Lydia where Turkey is today. They used knuckle bones like from sheep to make dice." I find the dice very interesting. I really can't imagine the dice being formed from knuckle bones. I wonder how they do it. I'm going to guess that they used fire and pressure to form it? Not really sure, it's probably going to be similar to that I guess. "A future forecast: 2013. We increasingly live our real lives inside of massively multiplayer games." I find that pretty interesting for the fact of its 2010 and it kind of like that now. I mean people are playing massively multiplayer games even today. Mostly online. I think by 2013 something of what she's talking about will appear. It'll probably from Asia and it can be like that future movie where people live in a 3D world. They're like hooked onto machines and stuff. That would be interesting. Maybe dangerous.

    I'm learning more about Global Warming right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is will we have to live underwater in the future? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because many things are changing around the world. Disasters like hurricanes grow stronger and other things like drought become longer and deadlier. Few challenges facing America-and the world-are more urgent than combating climate change. The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear. Sea levels are rising. Coastlines are shrinking. We've seen record drought, spreading famine, and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season. The quote here is basically saying that our continents are sinking into the sea or is getting swallowed by the sea. Things like hurricanes grow stronger from this and other disasters also grow deadlier. I think this is scary because one year your house might be right next to the coast line and the next year, right when you step out of your backyard, your stepping on ocean water. This makes me think will we have to live underwater in the future and adopt to underwater conditions.

    I just finish listening to this podcast from NPR and it was interesting. It was basically saying that sometimes people can dream about work. They can dream about their life at work. Martin said "Which is usually what I think when I wake from my dreams. If we're going be spending half of our day of work and two-thirds of the remaining day asleep, it would be nice to think dreaming about work would actually do us some good." I guess people do dream about life at work because people usually spend most of their day at work. I consider my work as a student. Its not really work because I dont get paid for what I do at school but I consider it a job for me because I do a lot of classwork, homework, projects and many more. What Im trying to say is that people dream about what happen recently to them. And for me, what happens recently at my day is school. I do remember dreaming many times about school. I dream about the test im going to have the next day, I dream about the homework I just did and if i did a good job on it. I also dream about my friends and teachers at my school. I like this NPR I just listened to.

    I'm learning more about zodiac signs right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How much of your personality is defined through your zodiac sign? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because of it's title.     I find zodiac signs interesting too. im a taurus and i feel that taurus & Aries are one of the best signs in the zodiac. Those two signs put together are pretty much unstopable if they get together even if they say that they dont go together

    I been researching on why certain people can't dream. As I was looking for answers, I came upon this website. It caught my attention because of its title.The title and my question is both the same. What that website said is "Sometimes where we are at in our internal processing is so deep that there are no recognizable symbols to be given to the dreamer by the deeper level of consciousness. Think of it as a meal not fully cooked - therefore not ready to be served. Trust the process. Relax in the reassurance that your dreams will resume." Its basically saying that we are not deeply asleep yet therefore no dreams are coming to us. The peson related it to a not fully cooked meal. When the meal is not cooked fully, its not ready to be eaten. Same goes with if you are not deeply asleep, there will be no dreams. So, just relax, be patient, and try to sleep well. Close your eyes and wait. Everyone has to dream.

    I'm learning more about chocolate right now, and in particular what i was wondering about is chocolate a sexual food. I was reasearching online and this news article caught my attention because, it is basically saying that chocolate is a sexual food. The title of this article is Would you change your diet for good sex? "We hopefully all know this story: Chocolate (cocao) contains the compound methylxanthine which triggers the release of dopamine in our blood which can leave you woozy with pleasure! Also, a study of 163 women in The Journal of Sexual Medicine found that those who consumed at least one cube of chocolate daily reported significantly greater desire and better overall sexual function than the individuals who abstained. The reasoning: high-flavonoid chocolate consumption has been linked to improved circulation. Bring it on!" The quote here is basically saying that chocolate is a sexually food. There was a study shown that proves it. Women who eat chocolate daily have better pleasure and desire while they are having sex. I think this is interesting because, i heard this on television and i wondered if this was actually true. I wonder what other foods make you have more pleasure when having sex. I think that chocolate is tasty and this might be the reason why mostly women eating i or eat it so often.

According to survey conducted by Quinnipiac University, 63 percent favor a playoff system while getting rid of the current system. Only 26 percent favor on keeping the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) system. Even the President of our nation, Barack Obama favors a playoff system in college football. This issue was even involved in the U.S. Congress. The House was planning on passing a legislation to remove the current BCS system and implement a playoffs to decide a National Champion. However, 48 percent of the fans do not think it's a good idea for Congress to get involved with this, while 45 percent do. The Congress hasn't done anything yet. I personally believe that the Congress should stay out of this and worry about much more important government issues

It is a selection process that creates five bowl games that matches up the top 10 ranked teams in the nation. The Number 1 and 2 ranked teams in the nation are matched up for the BSC National Championship game. The other teams are subjected to other BCS bowl games which are, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona and the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Florida. From the season when the BCS was created, the National Championship game rotated among the 4 bowls. But starting from 2007, the BCS made the Championship Game as a separate match up from the other 4 bowls. How are teams selected to a bowl game?
