Queens sees huge surge in demand for emergency meals and food - 1 views

I'm learning more about food security in queens right now, and in particular what i'm wondering about is why are people hungry all of the sudden. I was researching this question online, and this new posts caught my attention because, why is only Queens having this food problems and why does the title have the borough queens and not any other borough. "The report found that 340,000 households across the city are now considered "food insecure" - meaning that these families are unsure when or how they will get their next meal - with 53,285 in the Bronx. " The quote i chose here is basically saying that food is really scarce and people don't know when is the next time they will be able to eat. Several people in the Bronx have to worry about this for sure because there are so many of them in this condition. I think this is a true statement because, several people are having such a low amount of food and they don't know when they gonna have their next meal.I think that why their are so many emergency security food and meals are being passed out all around the boroughs in NYC.

Al Jazeera English - Focus - Fighting for Africa's food security - 0 views

I'm learning more about Africa's food security right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is: Why isn't the younger generation helping the older generation? I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because, all the changes that they are talking about is going to affect them in the long run and if they don't something about it now then it would be harder to fix later. The title of the news article is Fighting For Africa's Food Security. Something that i saw in the summary was that they are trying to fix the problem with Africa and they are trying to make a better way to get the young generation involved since they are not involved at all. "Political instability, global poverty and health, the financial crisis, religious conflicts and climate change are all issues that affect us and require long-term solutions to address substantially." I think this is a strog description because, if peoplee don't worry the sudden changes now how are they going to fix them later. I think that fixing the problem now will be more easier because later if you try to fix it some obstacles might be in the way.

Is Chocolate Addictive? - 0 views

I'm learning more about chocolate right now, and in particular what i'm wondering about Is chocolate addictive? I researched this question online , and this blog post caught my attention because, the title was named cool cooking and i thought that it might be interesting. "I have NOT found raw organic chocolate to be addictive. Although I have found raw organic chocolate when made with sugar to turn on symptoms of addiction. I found some raw organic chocolate candy made with high quality cane sugar. I kept eating more and more of this candy without ever feeling satisfied." The quote i choose here i basically saying that she didn't think that raw organic chocolate without sugar was addictive but the one with sugar she did think was addictive. Every time she ate this type of chocolate she has never finished it without being satisfied. I think this is interesting because, usually things with sugar are addictive but when you are eating it you don't really realize it. It makes me wonder why people love things that have sugar inside of it so much. I think that most people are addictive to candy especially chocolate because, it has lots of sugar and they have a variety of it.Many people enjoy this especially if you have a sweet tooth.

Would you change your diet for good sex? - Kare about Health - 0 views

I'm learning more about chocolate right now, and in particular what i was wondering about is chocolate a sexual food. I was reasearching online and this news article caught my attention because, it is basically saying that chocolate is a sexual food. The title of this article is Would you change your diet for good sex? "We hopefully all know this story: Chocolate (cocao) contains the compound methylxanthine which triggers the release of dopamine in our blood which can leave you woozy with pleasure! Also, a study of 163 women in The Journal of Sexual Medicine found that those who consumed at least one cube of chocolate daily reported significantly greater desire and better overall sexual function than the individuals who abstained. The reasoning: high-flavonoid chocolate consumption has been linked to improved circulation. Bring it on!" The quote here is basically saying that chocolate is a sexually food. There was a study shown that proves it. Women who eat chocolate daily have better pleasure and desire while they are having sex. I think this is interesting because, i heard this on television and i wondered if this was actually true. I wonder what other foods make you have more pleasure when having sex. I think that chocolate is tasty and this might be the reason why mostly women eating i or eat it so often.

Nursing ethics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  • The nature of nursing means that nursing ethics tends to examine the ethics of caring rather than 'curing' by exploring the relationship between the nurse and the person in care.
    • Rachel EWSIS

What this is saying is becoming a nurse instead of curing for the person you have to care for them.
  • The focus of nursing ethics is on developing a caring relationship
    • Rachel EWSIS

This is important because, if the nurses don't care then in my opinon i don't think that they will pick this career choice. Also if you don't have a caring relationship then, the patients won't really open up to their nurses.
  • This is where information about the person is only shared with others after permission of the person, unless it is felt that the information must be shared to comply with a higher duty such as preserving life. [5].
    • Rachel EWSIS

I think that this is interesting because, i wonder if nurses do talk about the patients business. If i were a nurses patients i wouldn't want them telling my business unless it was necessary.

  • Nursing ethics shares many principles with medical ethics, such as beneficence, non-maleficence and respect for autonomy
    • Rachel EWSIS

I wonder why some nurses sret up a list of laws for themselves? Aren't they given a set of rules or laws already?!
  • This is considered by its advocates to focus more on relationships than principles and therefore to reflect the caring relationship in nursing more accurately than other ethical views.
    • Rachel EWSIS

I think caring about the relationships more than the principles is good because, the principles don't get you to a point where you could bound with the person and in my opinion i think that being a nurse you connect with the person on a professsional and emotional level.
  • People are then enabled to make decisions about their own treatment.
    • Rachel EWSIS

I think that it's important for people to make their own decisions wether or not they want the treatment because, what if their family doesn't have enough mom to pay for it or they on't have insurance. Usually depending upon the situation like lets say if it's really bad then the person won't take the treatment if they are close to dying.
  • There is a balance between people having the information required to make an autonomous decision and, on the other hand, not being unnecessarily distressed by the truth.
    • Rachel EWSIS

I wonder why sometimes people aren't able to handle tghe trhuth when they hear bad news about their health?!
  • This is because nursing theory seeks a collaborative relationship with the person in care.

Disgraced pediatrician loses licence for 7 years - 0 views

  •
I'm learning more about things that occur in the medical field right now, and in particular what i'm wondering about is this news paper article.I was researching the question online, and this news item caught my attention because this old man has been a pedittrican for many years and he sexually assualted and drugged all his patients. I think that he is stupid for doing this. It is not worth waiting all your time in medical scholl and in college to throw your career down the drain. "A disgraced pediatrician found gulty of sexually assaulting his patients has had his medical licence suspended for a period of seven years." The quote i chose here is basically saying that a medical doctor was found gulity of sexually assualting his patients for seven years and he had his liscene taken away for 7 years. I think this is wrong because, it makes me wonder the type of things that other people do when they are in the medical field.I think that some people take advantage of their careers and they think that they won't get caught.

What i noticed about Searching For Main Street Flushing Pimps http://www.mappingmainstreet.org/#route=8818_6367_1&city=8818&image=6365&nav=pathview was that this pimp that they are talking about was noticed by every the clothes. He was noticed because of that he was wearing. The colors of his clothing were really bright and he always matched from head to toe. Ummm... what stands out to me in this podcast was the way the interview people and they described the pimp. When the podcaster said" Where is this pimp now?" I was thinking yeaa... where is he i haven't seen him a long time and i wonder why he hasn't been on main street. I think this is interesting because, i thought i was the only one that notice that the main street pimp was gone. I use to him all the time when i would walk on main street to get to the place i needed to go at that time. Another part that I strongly agree with is "What made the pimp walk Main Street everyday?". This stood out to me because, i mean after you see something but so many times you get tired of it. I wonder if he ever got tired of seeing the stores and maybe even the same people everyday. I do strongly agree with you when you say" The main street pimp was cool." One reason why i say this is because, he was always wore bright colors no matter what season it was. I give him props because, most dudes don't have the guts to wear these bright colors several people. Thanks for the podcast and i look forward to hearing more about the main street pimp so keep me informed. I would like to hear your thought
