Is a website which allows you to create a internet scavenger hunt with the advantage of being about to guide the students from website to website. The teacher can annotade each website and students. A great tool especially for younger students. It is free to use. A tutorial is available

I just checked it out and see that it can be a great tool. I really like that you can annotate and direct students' attention on each step of the "web jog". I could see gathering specific sites for students to explore and then have them create something new (Glog, Voicethread, Powtoon) with what they learned. Thanks for the find!

This interactive website is a great classroom tool for authentic, age appropriate readings. It is set up like an average news website, which offers students information on a broad range of topics. In addition, there is a teaching corner that offers free resources and topics for debate!

Create a free account on this French language website so you have access to all the great videos, articles and "dossiers".  For example, there's a one minute animated video that explains why we have the 1 hour time change this weekend.  Great for high school level French students.

Goethe Institute website with music and other helps

A free tool that lets you embed an audio message into your website - an appropriate tool for the 610 course!  You can record a message by phone or mic, use the text-to-speech feature, or upload your own mp3 audio files.   You can even choose from 25 languages and 100+ voices.  Very cool indeed. 

This project is listed on the ePals website and is my choice for the Global Networks activity. The languages listed in the project description are French and English, however, I think this kind of project could work in just about any language setting.

This is a good website for educators as it includes links to articles, videos, and websites related to copyright and fair use policies.

The Free Music Archive offers free downloads under Creative Commons and other licenses.   Can be used in your class, on class websites, or student projects.

This site is an excellent resource for lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, class activities for communication in the target language. Teachers share several artifacts which can be used in the classroom to enhance student engagement both inside and outside the classroom. There is also a Forum where world language teachers blog about useful tips and issues in the world language classroom. Lots of current topics discussed such as using technology in the classroom.

Today's Front Pages is a dynamic feature of the Newseum website, providing pdf versions and links to prominent newspapers around the US and around the world. To access today's news in another country and in another language, view the collection via the "Map"view which allows you to choose the region of the world you want to explore. As an activity for world language students, have them research a current event that appears on the front pages of several international papers, in English and in the target language. Use this activity to not only learn about current news and culture, but to explore how a singular event is reported differently by different newspapers.
