LanguageGuide.org is an online language learning resource available in numerous languages ranging from English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, to Korean. This illustrated vocabulary guide contains sound-integrated exercises at three levels -- beginner, intermediate, and advanced, and allows for independent practice at the learner's own pace. These practice exercises are appropriate for elementary and middle school students and this resource would be well suited on a teacher webpage. Thematic topics vary by language but generally include numbers, parts of the body, clothing, food, animals, weather, home, and school. There is an option menu on each screen for listening, speaking, and reading practice, as well as a quiz for students to check their comprehension. Some languages also feature a Grammar and Readings section for more advanced learners.

Cute and creative voice recording program available on iTunes or online. Allows you to edit the sound of a 30 second voice recording by raising pitch of the voice, lowering it, changing accents, etc. Embeddable in your website, creates a URL and can be emailed to teachers, tweet, and more. Fun! Could be used for any voice recording needs, oral assessments, etc. Any age group, any lesson topic.

The 2nd annual "Taste of France" in NYC just occurred at the end of September. It sounds like a fantastic "Communities" connection to keep on the radar for those people in the NYC area for next year.

This tool allows you to build in questions and comments into a reading that the students can access outside of the classroom. The students can communicate within the readings to respond to questions to help check understanding and comprehension of assignments.

This sound like an interesting tool. Do you know if this works only with readings that are provided through this site or can teachers also integrate articles, or textbook excerpts?
