By making your canvas public it can be used as an exit ticket or for class discussions. Students can use their computers, IPads or Smart phones. Great collaboration tool which students can use both in and outside the classroom

I like this tool, I have seen teachers in my school use a program similar to this one, but for some reason I can't remember the program. These can be fun for the students to use because it is something different than the normal PowerPoint that they complete for assignments.

This tool allows you to create an online portfolio that your students can take pictures of their work and add it to their portfolio, which you can access for free online.

Sabine, With regards to cost, it is free. I am unsure about how much storage that they give you to use on the site. That was something that was not talked about at the conference where I discovered the tool.

This is a great way to organize all of your resources online. It looks very interesting and you can get good resources from the featured binders that are on the site.

I love live binders. I created one for each of the classes I teach. It is easy to add information, the class notes and handouts, links for extra practice, etc. Students can easily get to it from anywhere.

Lingro is an online dictionary tool that allows users to link any URL address or uploaded document and have all words be linked to the available dictionaries in 11 languages. Once the URL address or document is linked to the Lingro dictionaries every word becomes "clickable" and linked to the program's dictionary to view either a definition in English or a translation in the other languages. This site can be used by World Language teachers and students in a variety of ways to encourage reading comprehension in L2. For teachers use, Lingro can be used for created guided practice activities with L2 readings, such as in an online newspaper or uploaded document. The teacher guides students through the target vocabulary to be learned and promote the discussion of its context use and correct translation. For student use, vocabulary lists can be created with the click of a button which can later be reviewed as flashcards or word lists with examples of use in contextual sentences. This tool aids learners with a quick reference for the meaning of words without having to interrupt a lesson or reading exercise for lengthy amounts of time.

This particular portion of the site affirms how storytelling using online tools for slideshows supports common core.  There are other areas of the site that are very useful as well. 

Teacher and author Larry Ferlazzo shares some great resources for creating visuals to accompany short texts.  This could be used by both teachers and students at all levels of instruction to address differentiated learning and to offer students options for demonstrating their learning.

Barbara - Thanks for sharing this blog article and the teaching tip. What a great idea for differentiation and integration of digital literacy. This provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their digital literacy skills with respect to appropriate use of images, citation, etc.

What I like about it is the instant progress report! I use the gradebook of BlackBoard and I don't think that they have this feature.

ThingLink is a web tool that allows groups to comment on with text, audio, video, and to share and/or embed them. This resource has multiple applications in the FL classroom, including visual literacy, information literacy, enhancing communication and collaborative skills. One example activity: upload a map and have students describe various locations on map orally, in video, or text, and then have them comment on/expand upon each others' posts.

This has a lot of awesome tools like glogster and wordle. Some I already use and some will be awesome to look at.
