Blogger is a free site for blogging. It is incorporated with Google, so if the user has a Google account, he automatically  has a Blogger account. This site (as well as any simple blogging site) can be used for students to publish their writing and receive a world-wide audience. Additionally, students can keep a reflection journal of their own progress, feelings, and questions regarding their learning. Finally, instructors can use blogs to communicate important information to their students as well as share their voice in an easily-accessed, asynchronous means.

This interactive website is a great classroom tool for authentic, age appropriate readings. It is set up like an average news website, which offers students information on a broad range of topics. In addition, there is a teaching corner that offers free resources and topics for debate!

Create a free account on this French language website so you have access to all the great videos, articles and "dossiers".  For example, there's a one minute animated video that explains why we have the 1 hour time change this weekend.  Great for high school level French students.

A nice site for both students and teachers of French, German, Spanish and Welsh.  Click on Resources at the top of page to access language content.  Be sure to then click on the links on the left for individual language content.  Videos seem to be promising - especially for French. 

Today's Front Pages is a dynamic feature of the Newseum website, providing pdf versions and links to prominent newspapers around the US and around the world. To access today's news in another country and in another language, view the collection via the "Map"view which allows you to choose the region of the world you want to explore. As an activity for world language students, have them research a current event that appears on the front pages of several international papers, in English and in the target language. Use this activity to not only learn about current news and culture, but to explore how a singular event is reported differently by different newspapers.

Create online WebQuests which can be accessed from computers or smart phones, iphones, etc. Free Web 2.0 tool  which you can share with other educators or keep private. Easy way to incorporate technology in the world language classroom.

An interesting article from the Language Educator magazine from Oct 2012. Talks about how to use 90% or more of the target language in the classroom.

This audio dictionary (French) gives students immediate access to pronunciation of over 2,500 words.

This tool allows you to build in questions and comments into a reading that the students can access outside of the classroom. The students can communicate within the readings to respond to questions to help check understanding and comprehension of assignments.

This sound like an interesting tool. Do you know if this works only with readings that are provided through this site or can teachers also integrate articles, or textbook excerpts?

This tool allows you to create an online portfolio that your students can take pictures of their work and add it to their portfolio, which you can access for free online.

Sabine, With regards to cost, it is free. I am unsure about how much storage that they give you to use on the site. That was something that was not talked about at the conference where I discovered the tool.

This is a nice website. When you click on "language" in the top left corner, one can access other languages. The phrases section is something that can be incorporated into many proficiency levels.
