MRC 2013: Papers - Use of Moodle at Cas - Student perspective - 0 views

  •
Paper presented at 2013 Moodle Research conference - part of final year undergraduate research at Cass. I think it's important to look at data directly from students. Can we make them real partners in the design and experience of courses?

Hello there, Thanks for sharing this Ivan - good one I hope I can effectively operationalize some ideas. Thanks Z
  •
Interesting! As are a number of the papers suggested afterwards which I will bookmark too! As an aside you may be interested in the paper Cass Business School students present to the Moodle Research Conference last year: http://research.moodle.net/mod/data/view.php?d=7&rid=124 One point of interest I'm keen to follow is the possible rise in more student-led studies (at City?) - in this case, both surveying students and by students. I'm also interested in how we could look more at involving learners in the design process.

Flexible Pedagogies: technology-enhanced learning - 2 views

This report has been developed as part of our research project Flexible Pedagogies: preparing for the future. Technology-enhanced learning is one of five main focus strands embedded within the theme of flexible learning. It offers a summary and analysis of the current state of play, as well as recommendations for developing robust and appropriate flexible pedagogies with a view to influencing policy, future thinking and change within the rapidly-shifting landscape of learning and teaching in HE.

Sandra, thank you for sharing this report. I hope to find some good insights for our "new" topic, final project and life in HE!

The Design Studio / e-learning models study JISC - 1 views

  •
This study produced a number of papers, of which the most widely referenced in Mayes and de Freitas' study of relevant theories, frameworks and models. This concluded that existing models can be broadly classified as associative, constructive, or situative; that underlying principles of learning remain much the same regardless of the technologies incorporated into the learning situation; but that cosideration of the technologies available for use is now an essential aspect of educational planning, and constructively aligning the learning situation with the desired outcomes.

A Wellcome Trove of Images - 2 views

  •
The highly regarded Wellcome Library in the United Kingdom has released a new web site with over 100,000 digital images for viewing, and in some cases, downloading. The images include "manuscripts, paintings, etchings, early photography and advertisements," as well as contemporary images. Available art images include etchings by Vincent Van Gogh and Francisco Goya. Eadweard Muybridge's studies of motion are there as well, as are photographs covering a wide array of topics. This new trove of online images is clearly a treasure.

Annual report on education technology developments

Neil, thank you for sharing this resource. I am sure that other participants will find it useful in their studies. For me and having in mind my background I can see movement to "Data-Driven Learning and Assessment" and "Learning Analytics" as something happening in Aviation Safety already. There the intention is to be as proactive and hopefully predictive as possible. How about here?
