Mrs. Miracle's Music Room has a wealth of information. Besides the usual blog with free lesson plans and a link to her www.teacherspayteachers.com store, she also has a link to her podcast and facebook group. She includes easy to use labels to sort the blogs as well as a link to highlight her classroom design and organization. Her blogs range in topics from specific lesson plans to teacher self-care and learning styles in the music classroom. She is a Kodaly trained teacher and her blog is geared towards K-6 general music.

The blog has a myriad of resources for the elementary music classroom. I have followed this blog for years and have pulled resources and ideas from it quite often. Examples of resources I have used recently are music centers and music technology/iPad apps.

Mrs. Miracle's blog incorporates a ton of resources for the elementary school teacher. She posts podcasts, lesson plans, and different activities that she does in her classroom. There is also the option to download freebies or purchase activities from her store (similar to Teachers Pay Teachers).The blog also discusses learning styles and best practices that Aileen incorporates in her daily teaching.

Classics For Kids is a great website with fun activities and music resources for use in the classroom. Each month, they feature a different composer and provide activities, handouts, and listening maps that help students learn about various topics in classical music history. There are also online games for kids and lesson plans for teachers.

This website works as a database for many famous composers. Students can use this website to complete music history projects as well as composer projects. Composers are organized by country or by period.

This website would be a useful resource for history facts about composers form multiple musical periods. The website also offers information about prominent and lesser known composers from several countries. YouTube inks are often provided for a listening example of each composer's work.

Choralnet.org is a site specifically geared towards chorus directors and teachers of vocal music. The site contains blogposts, open discussion forums and links to various online resources such as teaching materials and concert repertoire. The purpose of the site is to serve as a platform for chorus directors to share ideas with one another or use it to seek advice or help from other experienced educators.

League of American Orchestras is a site for educators, professional musicians and students can explore. Teachers can look at advocacy and the government to find out what is happening in legislation. There is a career center for teachers and professional musicians who are looking to perform. Everyone can learn about Learning and Leadership development of students and teachers. The Knowledge, Research and Innovation tab is great as it is the latest research happening. You can also find conferences, meetings, journals, conducting, composing and performing tab.

This site is a great resource for orchestra teachers. The purpose of this resource is to provide information about the current state of music programs and opportunities for orchestral students. The content of this site is mainly articles and registration links for different conferences. There are also links to webinars, fellowships, etc. as well as current issues revolving around orchestral music/education. Some sources particularly helpful for teachers are a link with interesting facts about orchestra and articles about how to reach out to bigger audiences. It offers a subscription for "Symphony" Magazine and provdes information about composing, conducting, and performing, all major elements or any music education program.

This website has resources for orchestra students. Students can find practice and performance tips, learn about local and famous orchestras and musicians, and find resources for their specific instruments.

After using this website for a graduate level course in American Vernacular Music History, I was really impressed with it's use for educators. Organize music history in a timeline view to allow students to click and learn more on their own.

Most of, if not all of the information is compiled to benefit students either directly or indirectly in their classrooms.

This page provides links to the All Star Orchestra education pages on Kahn Academy. Topics include masterworks, theory, instruments, and even conducting. This is a great resource to be used in the classroom.

The purpose of this website is to provide a list of free jazz sheet music in the keys of Bb, Eb, and bass clef from the "Real Book". The content lists songs from A to Z which provide an audio recording link for each without any ads. Students can use this site to play along with the sheet music and accompaniment provided. It would make a great practice tool in addition to method book material for students of all ages. The author of the site also promotes a "my music apps" page for beginner and experienced musicians.

Doug Butchy complies a collection of music education related online resources distributed daily. He draws from blogs, Twitter and other social media sites to collect this information. His collection of links is a great starting point for daily reading.

Pinterest is a social media site where many different users share different ideas on all different topics. There are many great music education resources found here. Links to blogs, podcasts, and wikis are very helpful.

Attentive readers, particularly students or music instructors, realize how an erroneous pedagogical approach may lead the way to Focal Dystonia and its frustrating consequences.
