As a high school teacher this site can help find music schools for students about to graduate.

This is an important perspective as parents begin to worry about their adolescent's academic courses (for good reason), but many are still trying to find ways to keep their kids engaged in music.

This is the Nazareth College Department of Music homepage. From here, one can access all of the undergraduate and graduate degree program offerings, see the schedule of concert and events for performing ensembles and the various community events and partnerships in the Rochester area.

This site contains an audio example along with a viewable example of the lead sheet (in most cases). This is a fantastic resource for jazz students.

The purpose of this website is to provide a list of free jazz sheet music in the keys of Bb, Eb, and bass clef from the "Real Book". The content lists songs from A to Z which provide an audio recording link for each without any ads. Students can use this site to play along with the sheet music and accompaniment provided. It would make a great practice tool in addition to method book material for students of all ages. The author of the site also promotes a "my music apps" page for beginner and experienced musicians.

The Jazz Education Network is a resource site for jazz educators and students. It contains advocation materials, conference schedules, and resources for music educators. 

This website provides an extensive collection of folk music from Britain, Ireland, and America. It provides free MIDIs of folk songs, lyrics, and information about each piece. This site is great for students to explore folk music.

This website provided by the International Trumpet Guild has free resources for both trumpet teachers and trumpet students. The site includes reviews on solos, information on upcoming events such as masterclasses, summer camps, competitions, and also provides a link to "ask the teacher."

This blog features thoughts and links provided by music psychologist Dr. Victoria Williamson. All her posts have to do with developments or interesting facts pertaining to music psychology.

This podcast site is for educators to discover new ideas in music education and technology while listening to the voices of Joseph Pisano and Darren Morton talk about those ideas. This site is meant to give quality opinions on the latest trends in education. PodOmatic includes podcast on certain music education and technology topics, videos of marching bands performing, and the ability to create your own podcast dealing with music issues. There are websites included that direct one other podcasts from followers of the website and educators.

This website is run by a personal friend of mine, Jennifer Fink. The website includes free teacher resources that are available to print and play with students. I especially like the Crazy Keys game to help students with notes on the piano.

Music Matters is a blog that allows users/readers to utilize websites, information, and activities for students in music. There are sources for educators that include training, games, and blogs that help students grow as musicians and music learners. This website includes information for Music History, Music Theory, pedagogy for instruments, music organizations, and music education conferences. Each source includes guides, activities, and blogs for the reader to navigate to a certain website or community, and reflect on what has been read or what is happening in the world of music.

This website has the purpose of gaining knowledge on saxophone musicians, and ways to practice, listen, and fine tune the sound one makes. It has articles and techniques that are meant to give saxophonists needed guidance on history, ways to improve performance, and how to perform with different styles. This site includes different genres or saxophone performance, such as classical, jazz, be bop, rock and blues, and regae. There are other links for purchasing music, mouthpieces, saxophones, and practice books.

This website provides a free 58-page music book for beginning instrumentalists. The website also provides backing tracks for songs from the tutor book. However, some of the information in the books may need to be tweaked. For example, quarter notes are referred to as the British "crotchets" here.
