Even if you do not use the book with which this is associated, there is some great information available that can improve your student's playing. Everything from the very beginning steps of holding the sticks, through bounce strokes, and into rolls is covered.

World music resources including forums, FAQ's resources, new customs. It is set up for any teacher. It specifically says the teacher does not have to read music. The best thing about it is the forum. A teacher can learn from the forum buy reading other's ideas. The worst thing about this is they are trying to sell their books. However, they do have other resources linked to their website.

A program that is built from the teacher's perspective, Music Prodigy provides students with an area to practice, using a built-in metronome.  Assessment is also available in this program.  As its name implies, you will build musical prodigies.

This allows the user to generate virtually infinite amounts of unique sight reading exercises for piano, guitar, voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.

On this site, students can gain further understanding in a variety of musical topics, some that they may be learning in school. Most of the activities are game-oriented, so this is a fun outlet for kids to explore outside of the music classroom. Students can learn about the instruments of the orchestra, famous musicians and soloists, and popular composers. One thing to note is that the descriptions are rather text-heavy. Therefore, this site would be appropriate for an older elementary student or middle schooler as far as reading readiness is concerned.

This website has fun games to use to enhance music learning. I would use it for complementary only.

This website is a very interactive source for children designed by the New York Philharmonic to educate them and pique their interests about classical music. Features include games, facts about composers/instruments, tests/quizzes, etc. Children visiting this website are also able to watch archived concert performances.

This includes concert band, marching band, travel and festival tips, articles and videos, and the website has a discussion board for band directors to ask questions. This is a great resource for all band directors to improve their ability as a music educator.

BandDirector.com is an exhaustive site of information for band directors. The site includes information on concert, marching, and jazz bands, along with individual band instruments. The site also features videos and a webcast.

This website includes an incredible amount of information for music educators. There are interviews with top educators and conductors, live concert webcasts, and many videos and articles about the various instruments.

This is a website that we use at my school. We have sent the videos to all of the fifth grade teachers to allow their students to watch before we come and visit them at their school. We also post these videos on our band website for extra viewing. This is a great recruiting tool for middle school directors.
