Percussive Arts Society provides countless files, resources and recordings for your aspiring percussionists as well as percussion classes to provide quality instruction. The Percussive Arts Society is also a membership and subscription service as well as providing a annual conference across the country. 

The Percussive Arts Society is the largest organization for percussionists and drummers from all over the world. Becoming a member grants access to an extensive archive of videos, publications, and articles related to percussion pedagogy, performance, etc. PASIC, the international convention hosted by PAS, is a multi-day event featuring percussionists and lecturers as well as networking opportunities.

The Percussive Arts Society website provides several resources for music educators. There are magazine subscriptions available as well. This site can help not only percussionists, but non-percussionist educator who are looking to find help in teaching percussion.

Vic Firth's education resources include videos on all things percussion related.  There are video and audio clips regarding beginning snare drum/mallets, drum set, rudiments, concert percussion, and marching/world percussion.  This is a great resource for teachers and students.

Purpose of this resource: This website contains many educational videos, articles, and resources for educators and students about percussion playing technique and history. Musical Content: The Vic Firth Educator page contains fundamental playing technique for snare drum, keyboard percussion and drum set as well as demonstration videos, articles, and sequential playing exercises. There are also videos about instrument set up and maintenance. Other information: The resources on this page are geared toward both educator and student. Many of the music reading articles and exercises are also applicable to non-percussionists and can be readily adapted for classroom use.

Aside from quality percussion equipment, Vic Firth provides a wealth of information on percussion education. The site includes videos, articles, and pdf's of exercises as well if needed.  

The Innovative Percussion, Inc. website identifies stick and mallet purchase options for middle and high school band directors. The website additionally includes several websites on various percussion related topics, such as "Reading on Keyboard Percussion," "Brazilian Percussion," "Developing Your Technical Skills," and others.

This is an itunes preview of Vic Firth Marching Percussion Video Podcasts. Each of these videos are free to view in itunes and many are from drum corps and other percussion professionals. These videos have interviews, lessons and performances. This is a great resource for percussion students for inspiration as well as showing them about DCI. 

Steve Weiss is my go-to when buying percussion equipment. This page in particular is a guide to help music directors purchase high-quality percussion instruments if you don't know much or anything about percussion. The list also is split between elementary, middle school, and high school to ensure that you get appropriate instruments for the playing level and budget.

The Percussive Arts Society Resource Library is a site full of educational content from posters, to media, to essential listening lists.

Percussive Arts Society (PAS) is a great source for all things percussion. While some items (articles, videos) at the website require PAS membership, there are several items that are available to all. Some useful items for everyone include the rudiments, "The PAS Educators' Companion," and "Essential Listening for Drum Set."

Everything a beginning marching percussion needs to know - from technique, to sheet music, to practice mp3s, this site contains it all. The website also links to all current Vic Firth endorsed drum corps and indoor percussion ensemble.

Steve Weiss Music is a very good retail percussion website.  Educators can find their percussion needs here quickly and also receive them very quickly.  This company is great to consider for ordering repertoire, sticks and mallets, or large instruments.  Check them out!

This site has a lot of great material for brass and percussion. I have used them in the past for a few items (range builders, breathing exercises, drum heads). Affordable items and a very good resource for music teachers.

Xtreme Brass and Percussion is a online retailer focusing on brass and percussion instruments. They sell a wide variety of goods including instruments and instrument accessories, sheet music, marching band music, and playing technique books and much more.

The Vic Firth website is an essential resource for any percussionist or music educator. The site includes a wealth of educational videos, games, and play along tracks that are beneficial to development of percussionists and music educators.

Fantastic videos to share with your students to teach them the 40 rudiments. Students can play along with audio files in addition to the short video clips tailored to the young drummer. Posters and charts of the rudiments also available here.

This is a website featuring fantastic percussionists in videos, audio, and articles focused on percussion education in various genres: concert percussion, marching, and drum set. This also includes foundation session to learn tambourine, crash cymbals, rudiments, and so much more.

This document provides relevant information for the proper setup of a percussion section. The Percussive Arts Society offers simple suggestions for any band director who may not be a percussionist. The content provided in this document will be most relevant to ensemble directors who work with percussionists. 

The GF Percussion website is a good website for percussion technique exercises. Some include Stick Control (an essential book for percussionists) and other pad and drum set exercises.

The Grid Book is an American series of education books geared towards modern marching battery percussion, as well as front ensemble. The site offers videos, sheet music and 1 on 1 lessons with the site owners, who are 2 of the most in-demand marching percussion gurus in the country.

This is a great resource for making sure that you have assigned all of your percussion parts out to the percussionist. Plus, you can have the chart attached to the back wall of the band room and they will never have any excuse to not know what they are playing!

This is a great website for randomly assigning drum parts to a concert band or symphonic orchestra. It will determine parts, generate lists of what each student needs, and keep percussion sections organized.

Todd Meehan is a Associate Professor at Baylor University. His blog includes his many percussion video blogs (vlogs). Many of these are humorous videos for percussionists.

These bands include the active bands, Army Reserve Bands, National Guard bands, and the U.S. Army School of Music Band. Each band will also have smaller ensembles such as jazz bands and rock bands. The site also has recordings of the Army band performing some traditional ceremonial songs including marches, fanfares, and even bugle calls that are found on the music tab. This is very beneficial if you are are trying to perform a patriotic show or performing for the school's JROTC programs. There are pages for the National Anthem and The Army Song that provides the history of the songs as well as the lyrics and recordings. You can click on the songs titles to download mp3 files. The education tab is great because it has a list of U.S. Army Music Master Classes for every instrument and covers a wide range of topics. From basics and fundamentals to practicing to percussion. Master classes are added periodically. When you click on the title of the master class, a PDF will download. You can also request for a clinicians, clinic teams, master classes, or guest conductors to come out to your school. The only expense you might have to pay is for travel expenses if they are not in the area.

An amazing site for all instrumentalists that includes audio/video demonstrations of most woodwind, brass, string, percussion, and keyboard instruments. Examples of articulation, timbre in different registers, mutes, vibrato, special effects, and more are provided.

A great interactive way for students to learn the instruments of the orchestra, as well as fretted strings, without sitting through a lecture. What fun this would be as a scavenger hunt for the students with QR codes.

Percussive Arts Society provides many resources for educators with an inexpensive yearly fee. There is a magazine subscription that provides articles from professional percussionists and educators, as well as several videos and resources on the website.

This is a great resource for any percussionist looking to improve or refine their rudiments. Vic Firth has put together a website that includes demonstration videos, play-along tracks at different tempi, and lessons for each rudiment. As a non-percussionist, this website helps my percussionists with rudiments more than I can.

This link is the Vic Firth page over the 40 Essential Rudiments for snare drum. Vic Firth is a fantastic resource for anything percussion, but their rudiment page is my favorite because it breaks down each rudiment for the students and they demonstrate each rudiment open-closed-open. This is a great resource to to send with students so they are sure to practice rudiments correctly on their own.

On the Vic Firth website for percussion, there are many educational resources. This area focuses on hybrid rudiments. Hybrid rudiments are combinations of basic rudiments to create new ones. One example is putting a flam and a drag together to create a flam drag. Since new combinations are constantly made, there are always new possibilities being created. This is a loose list of current hybrid rudiments. They are shown through video examples.
