Subscribers to the Sight Reading Factory will never again run out of sight reading material to practice. Every time the user clicks 'Generate Sight Reading', a brand new piece of music is composed. This allows the user to generate virtually infinite amounts of unique sight reading exercises for piano, guitar, voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.

My school district was actually recognized as one of the districts to receive "Best Community for Music Education" by NAMM. Not only is this site useful for music educators, but it also has articles about the role of community members and administrators in advocating for music education.

NAMM (National Association for Music Merchants) is a leader in music education. Their trade show every year draws the most important music companies from around the world. NAMM helps music education by providing a place for music educators to learn about the innovations and products available to them. Their website offers grant opportunities for teachers, and information for parents.

Mrs. Miracle's Music Room has a wealth of information. Besides the usual blog with free lesson plans and a link to her www.teacherspayteachers.com store, she also has a link to her podcast and facebook group. She includes easy to use labels to sort the blogs as well as a link to highlight her classroom design and organization. Her blogs range in topics from specific lesson plans to teacher self-care and learning styles in the music classroom. She is a Kodaly trained teacher and her blog is geared towards K-6 general music.

The blog has a myriad of resources for the elementary music classroom. I have followed this blog for years and have pulled resources and ideas from it quite often. Examples of resources I have used recently are music centers and music technology/iPad apps.

This site is a fun way to get students to start listening for specific intervals! It is loaded with different song examples for each interval. This can help students develop their ear training skills.

Interval Song Chart Generator is a listing of intervals and includes various songs which represent the interval. Simply select a song for each descending and ascending interval. Videos accompany the example, however, you can easily make it into an aural example. Once you select your song choices, then you can generate your own list and print it out. Each song includes a PDF of lyrics, melody, game/dance directions, song analysis, rhythms, and original source (some also include recordings). The website also includes basic information about the Kodaly approach.

The Kodaly Center website is a valuable resource for all music teachers and especially those teaching elementary general music. The website contains videos about the history and philosophy of Kodaly, as well as recent news and upcoming events being held at the center. The most impressive feature of this site is the pubic domain library of songs and the precise ways they are categorized. Songs can be searched and categorized by: Origin, region, state, subject, song type, grade level, tonal center, scale, tone set, melodic range, melodic element, melodic motive, rhythmic element, meter, form, formal analysis and game type. Once you find a song you can see all of this detailed information as well as (in most cases) listen to the song, often sung by a child or group of children.

This website and app has definitely made me a stronger musician through my undergraduate years. The purpose of this website is to provide practice of musical content, to help strength the mindset in many areas.

This area of the Midwest Clinic website features the clinics and accompanying handouts (if available) that were presented at every Midwest Clinic dating back to 2000. The purpose of this section of the website is to share the sessions and their materials for teachers to access. This is a great resource for teachers to experience the sessions, especially if they were unable to attend. The sessions cover concepts from all areas of music education focused on both band and orchestra. There are many unique concepts and approaches to teaching music available on this website.
