  •
""Toolbelt Theory" is based around the idea that as humans we are tool users, and that we choose tools most effectively when that choice begins with the Task at hand, and then considers theEnvironment in which that task must be performed, the Skill set of the individual (the tool chooser), and the Tools which are available (Thus the acronyn TEST)  --Ira Socol "

This collection of visual supports and other resources provides examples of various strategies that can be used to support students on the autism spectrum, as well as others with and without disabilities. Some of these visuals have also been used as part of a school's Response to Intervention (RTI) or as part of School-wide Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS). Many of the visuals can also be used with families to assist their son/daughter at home. Others may benefit adults on the spectrum, as well.

The session will include a discussion of technical and environmental considerations, account creation, avatar generation and customization, games selection, online collaboration and communication (using Avatar Kinect), and case studies describing specific IEP goal progressions and comparisons. Let's play!

Apology statement for today's slide - Google Drive - 1 views

  •
Our apologies. There is inaccurate information on this page of the Calendar. The statement "School employees can have the monthly fee (approximately $30) taken directly from your paycheck" is inaccurate. It should read "County employees can have the monthly fee (approximately $30) taken directly from his or her paycheck." The version on http://lcps.org/at has been altered to remove the wording altogether. Our apologies for the misinformation, Loudoun County Public Schools Assistive Technology Team
