Katie, this is an awesome list of resources! I think so often that teachers neglect ELL learners, especially if they aren't ELL teachers. I was just talking with one of my TESOL friends this last weekend and we both agreed that classroom teachers need to be more accommodating to their ELL students.

YAY TESOL. I love seeing other teachers post about TESOL because every teacher is going to encounter ELL students in their teaching career. This is a great list of resources! I have used many of them and know that having them all in one place is extremely helpful. Since this is my future, I would definitely use this website to keep track of resources. It is for teacher use. Most ELL students would have difficulties navigating through these resources and understanding why they would be useful until a teacher helped them understand why. There are many lists on the internet for ESL help, but most have a lot of dead links. From what I looked at, this list looked very helpful!

This article describes the teacher's role for effective planning of differentiated instruction. I hope that I can use the three points in this article (differentiating content, process, and product) in order to create the best learning experiences for my students.

I agree that I could efficiently use this resource in my future classroom to an extent. Because the article only outlines reasons why social media should be used in a classroom, there are no specific ways mentioned on how to integrate social media... there are only a list of benefits to using it. I believe this article could be intended for teacher or student use because it allows both teachers and students to understand the benefits and purposes of using social media in the classroom. One similar resource that could also be considered is "How to use Social Media as a Learning Tool": http://www.edudemic.com/how-to-use-social-media-as-a-learning-tool-in-the-classroom/. This site seems more beneficial to me because it specifically offers ways for teachers to implement social media in the classroom (rather than just stating advantages), such as a class Facebook group, Twitter feed, blog post, YouTube videos, and Instagram. Are you aware of any similar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources?

You also have to keep in mind the overall purpose of social media being in the classroom.

Case study concerning the gamification of a science class

This is a great learning website that is completely free. They have various educational topics for all different age groups.

I also just recently started using Khan academy with my students. Even though we follow a constructivist approach to teaching math, this resource has been helpful for my kids who need procedural examples. Plus sometimes it is more engaging to listen to someone else teach it!

I do like the free aspect of Khan Academy - due in part to funding by The Gates Foundation. I love the variety of topics available, and the ability to engage in "hip pocket learning" whenever I wish. Honestly, I am sad that Bank of America has become a sponsor of Khan Academy, however. It seems like they would have less of an interest in learning for learning's sake.

Are they any specific websites you have looked at or used from this page? There looks to be a lot of neat ones. I saw Storyboard That was on here. I have used that with my students to create a children's story. I am eager to check out some of the others sites and to learn how I can incorporate them into my classroom.

Moocs are great for learning about different topics within online learning environments.

This article talks about the concept of "hyperdocs" which puts everything a student needs for a unit or a learning cycle into one document to streamline the process and make learning more efficient for students.

This was a very interesting article for me because I am not knowledgable of hyperdocs. As I am reading, I am realizing that it is similar to WebQuests. I love the flexibility, the fewer lectures, and privacy of students taking ownership of their own learning. This definitely fits with Voice&Choice! Since I am less knowledgable on this topic, I love how it gave models. You can tell it was made by teachers! This article really lays it out for the reader!

Great resource for teachers to get them started with using hyperdocs. This will be very useful to help me with using hyperdocs in my classroom. I have heard of hyperdocs before and came across the Hyperdoc Handbook before on Amazon. I did not know all the details of what they entailed and this article did a great job of providing a clear explanation, examples, templates, and the benefits of using them. I loved creating webquests for my students years ago, and after reading this article I understand that hyperdocs takes webquests to the next level. I am going to share this article with my colleagues because this would be a great way for us to differentiate and provide choice to students.

Teachers can use this sight to find popular web tools to use in the classroom. It is also helpful for learning about 21st Century skills and examples of them.

There are a lot of resources here for all classrooms, teachers, and students. It is divided up into 14 different categories and everything that I've looked at is free to your classroom. I've been searching for a few resources, such as a good audio-to-speech converter and some better graphics organizer sites. I typically have students create a end of the semester portfolio that documents all of their learning and their final products in various categories and I can see how sites like Cacoo, Organizely, and Popplet could really help me out.

Schoology is a relatively new free learning management system for educators. Similar in nature to Edmodo, it currently allows the educator a few more abilities, resources, and customization that isn't offered in Edmodo.

o Do agree or disagree that the resource can be used efficiently in your own future classroom? Explain why or why not. Yes, this feature CAN and HAS been used in my classroom to much success. Students really seem to prefer it over other LMS websites like Edmodo or Moodle because of the ease of use, different resources, mobile app, and the App Store. I use it for distributing and collecting assignments, taking polls and surveys, and for taking assessments such as quizzes and tests. o Do you believe the resource is mostly for teacher use, student use, or both? Explain your perceptions constructively. This resource is used by both the teacher and the students in order to be effective. The teacher is the one who sets up the page, creates the assignments, links, quizzes, polls, etc and the students use the site to effectively manage their learning process. It has really helped to take away the complaints and excuses that I typically get from students not knowing what they are supposed to do and where everything is located. I think one of the major advantages to Schoology is the ease of being able to find Files/Links and Assignments. o Are you aware of any similar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources. This task is similar to our threaded discussions. You want your comments to be constructive. Repeat this step for the remaining three bookmarks you are required to comment on. Other possible LMS websites that I have used are: Moodle, Edmodo, and Blackboard. There are many, many others as this is a highly innovative arena right now and out of all of them, Schoology seems to really impress most educators who have tried using it.

I really like the looks of schoolology, Jeremy! I can see how this would be very useful in a junior high or high school classroom. Especially in a school that has gone 1:1! If fifth grade students had their own computers, I would definitely use this as a classroom management tool! I think this is a great way for educators, students, and parents to all be on the same page regarding assignments and class expectations. I really like the Text/SMS feature! As you had stated in your description. This is very similar to Edmodo, which I'm familiar with. Thank you for sharing!
