It also gave some good insight on what parents could do to make their child feel less confused about the divorce. How This Influenced My Thinking: I learned about statistics of how likely children are to behave in negative ways after divorce and also gave me good advice on how to help your child cope. Credibility of Source: Lesley is a psychologist and has a Ph.D and all of her information seemed to be very accurate.

How This Influenced My Thinking: Opened my eyes up to the many challenges present in this type of situation - when a couple is not happy together nor getting along but still need to work really hard to keep a good enough relationship to support their children. It describes the needs and expectations needed for healthy coping through divorce. Children need reassurance, stability, patience, and love even more during a divorce. Keeping these important staples intact will help the child deal with divorce. It discusses how kids are going to express their feelings and red flags for more serious problems developing due to divorce. How This Influenced My Thinking: I have always thought that no matter what the parents do the children involved in divorces will feel the repercussions and that there is nothing that parents can do to fix it. This false belief that I have had is untrue-many children that are provided stable,secure, and loving homes after divorce learn to cope and turn out to be just fine. But it is all dependent on the parents methods of making the divorce less traumatic for the child. Credibility of Source: Its credible- the authors are doctors.

The article gives detailed tips in how to help your children cope with a divorce. How This Influenced My Thinking:This helped me understand why it is need to focus on the children during a divorce proceeding and how divorce can effect a child. Credibility of Source: very reliable source the authors have M.A's and Ph.D's.

It discusses the physical and primary sexual changes, emotional changes, and gives time frames for these changes. how this influenced my thinking:This influenced my thinking because I had forgotten that men go through spermarche which is similar to a woman's menarche, so men and woman both go through these sexual changes at about age 13 credibility of source:This source was credible, it was from a mental health website

It discusses emotional changes as well as sexual changes. How this influenced my thinking: It makes me look back and think about the changes that I went through. Credibility of Source: It seems credible it is a medical website and it was updated.

Title: Piagets stages of development Author: Roy Benaroch Date Published: 1012 Why relevant and summary: This artice reviews all four stages of piagets theory and elaborates on each one. it gives exampels of each stage and also the ages each stage happend Influenced my thinking: this gave me a better understanding of how children think at each particular agge of their development Credibility of Source: This page is written and reviewed by an MD and it also contains references for where the informayion is coming from. it all relates to out textbook as well.

How This Influenced My Thinking: It gave me more knowledge on how it is kids feel. This is beneficial to me because I want to work with children. Credibility of Source: Seems credible. This article also provides definitions and examples for key terms like inferential reasoning, concrete operational stage, pendulum task. How This Influenced My Thinking: I was able to gasp the concept for pendulum task better than from reading the textbook. Credibility of Source: not sure how credible but found on simply psychology.

Blume Date Published: 2007 Why Relevant and Summary: This when into great depth about middle childhood friendship and then even went on to talk about popularity at the same age level. How This Influenced My Thinking: It made me realize popularity is actually a huge thing with fourth graders Credibility of Source: No way to tell but it seems like a very credible source!

It helps to focus on what can really affect the child when religion is involved in a family life. How this influenced my thinking: It just helps me to look at what I can help my children with when they reach that age and may be faced with these issues as well. Credibility of Source: I've used this site many times for references and it seems to be credible.

How This Influenced My Thinking: It gave me a better understanding of the motivators behind value and decision formation; relative to my own formation of values and my own making of decisions. Identity can come from what your community requires of you, or something else. How this influenced my thinking: this reinforced my ideas on emerging adulthood being a stage of unsure identity for some if not most. Credibility: American Psychological Association

Title: The signs of a heart attack in women over 50 date: 01/05/2010 author: Sherril Steel-Carlin Why relevant and summary: This was a short article articulating what women over 50 should know to prevent a heart attack or get help as soon as they feel the first signs. In the recent disease heart attack are the number one killer of women and most of them can be prevented if we recognize the early symptoms. how has this influenced my thinking: Even though I am not quite that old, I do have an aging mother and mother in law, this is something that they need to be aware and my husband and I as well. Credibility: the article is published in a health and wellness online magazine, and even though the author is not a doctor, I am pretty sure she got her information for credible sources.
