Title: Puberty Author: No Author Date Published: Last updated October 13, 2010 Why Relevant and Summary: This article is published on .gov website and provides, in depth information about the changes that specifically happen to girls. It talks about, changes in body shape, breasts, body hair and changes going on in the mind. It talks about menarche, getting enough sleep, sexuality, dealing with dating etc. Most importantly, the website talks about protecting yourself, if your sexually active and how important it is to seek medical care such as seeing a gynocologist. How This Influenced My Thinking: I think it is great that this information is presented appropriately for young girls to utilize and educate themselves on what is going on within their bodies as well as reassuring them that this is all normal and happens to all of us. I'm glad that this information is readily available to girls that perhaps do not have relationships with their parents to discuss these topics. Credibility of Source: Yes, this website is managed by : The Office of Woman's Health, Office of Assistant Secretary for Health and the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Title: 40 Things You Can Do to Raise a Moral Child Date: 2012 Author: Ethical Society Mid Rivers Summary and why important: This list many different areas where parents can promote moral decision making in their child. While it's not so much an article, it does list wonderful tips and advice. How it has change my thinking: While it didn't necessary "change" my thinking, as a parent I found everything on this site to be helpful and positive. Credibility: This was a post from the Moral Society. I don't know who the author was specifically all of the information was logical.

Title:Parenting Styles and Its Correlates Author: Nancy Darling, PhD, MS Date Published: March 1999 Why Relevant and Summary: This article gives you and understanding and a clear picture of the different parenting styles. As well, the different parenting styles can predict the behavior of the child and even the potential parenting skills. How This Influenced My Thinking: This article furthered my understanding of the four different types of parenting styles and how the different styles can effect the outcome of the child's behavior. Credibility of Source: Very credible, author has a PhD and MS. Also the author cites credible sources.

How this influenced my thinking: I have found some good resources and easy tips on how to help children manage weight. Credibility: very credible government website with citation of resources.

Very useful information, background and other wise. How This Influenced My Thinking: Didn't, but it was very interesting to read some of the background information . Credibility of Source: Credible, based on common sense as well as references from history.

Author: Keith Olbermann Date Published: November 10, 2008 Why Relevent and Summary: When talking about gay marriage, I think this speech sums up my views on the pro side and my confusion with those opposed. This is a must read!! How This Influenced Me: I felt like someone was in my head when I first heard Keith Olbermann deliver this "Special Comment". He so eloquently spoke directly from my heart. Credibility: Opinion piece from a News Anchor, doesn't need to be credible.

Title: Formal Operational Stage of Cognitive Development Author: Kendra Cherry Date Published: N.D. Why Relevant and Summary: Explains Piaget's last stage of cognitive development, the formal operation stage. Identifies this stage's importance in thought and perception and it's lasting affects on our cognitive abilities. How This Influenced My Thinking: Allowed for me to compare my cognitive growth and development to Piaget's levels/stages of cognitive development. Credibility of Source: About.com- pretty credible.

Title: Cognitive Functioning in Early Adulthood Author: Bold, M Date published: 1999 Why relevant and summary: There is not alot about Perry's theory on this website but it gives a nice brief description of different theories, including Perry's. How it changed my thinking: Was interesting seeing them all outlined like that. Credibility of source: seems credible.

Title : Girls are more intelligent than boys, but men are more intelligent than women. Author : Satoshi Kanazawa Date : 10/03/2010 Why Relevant and Summary: It's relevant because in my paper, I discuss the debate of age difference in relationships. This article provides support in the maturation of girls and boys and why some people prefer the age difference and why some people may not. How This Influenced My Thinking It helps my thinking to understand where my husband and I are at in our marriage to where we were when we dated in high school. I was more mature than he was, but now he has matured and to be more intelligent than I am but we are equally mature enough. We are also 3 days apart in age.

It was a sweet resource to be able to use for my paper and was very relevant to it. How This Influenced My Thinking: The reason for why it should be done never even crossed my mind! Title: Catholic Marriage Preparations Author: NA Date Published: NA Why Relevant and Summary: This website is very helpful if one is planning to get married in the Catholic Church. Although it's only an outline of the marriage preparation classes, it definitely helps to give the key points of what is needed before getting married such as sacraments and also includes how Religion plays an important role within the marriage. How this influenced my Thinking: This website made me realize what a marriage consist of. For many people like me one usually thinks that married life is the best time of one's life and there is no problems that come with it, but reality is that a lot of work has to be put towards the marriage from both parts in order to have a successful marriage. This article definitely made it clear that a marriage has a lot of components. Credibility: Seems credible since it's from a parish website

Especially in this global market where we trade with partners from all over the world, having an understanding of their culture and background better prepares us to make sound decisions. For those who study abroad gives them a great advantage to thrive and not feel outcasted and socially neglected. How this has influenced my thinking: I was not aware that CI was being studied and promoted and I think it is a great idea for our children to develop. Credibility: This article was published on The Huffington Post which is a pretty reliable online newspaper.

It talks about the basic respect that partners need to show each other. It says that a happy marriage means respecting your spouse. It also discusses healthy ways to resolve conflicts step by step with a spouse. How This Influenced My Thinking: This article made a great point - that true compatibility doesn't exist, so shrug off the little stuff. It says that irreconcilable differences are normal and we shouldn't try to resolve or unresolve but rather come to terms with them and except the differences between you and your partner. I often feel that if you are unhappy because of disagreements that will never be resolved -then you should leave. But the point that we should just except these disagreements and cherish the stronger aspects of a relationship has changed my thinking on this.
