How this influenced my thinking: This information strengthened my awareness about how important it is for  a caregiver to take care of themselves. Credibility of source: this information supported previous information and sources I was already familiar with.

How this influenced my thinking: I have found some good resources and easy tips on how to help children manage weight. Credibility: very credible government website with citation of resources.

Title: Peer Relations in Middle Childhood Author: By L.B. Blume|M.J. Zembar Date Published: 2007 Why relevant and summary: great information on research and finding of socialization patterns- shows a strong correlation between playground play and future choices in adult relationships. The habit forming patters of socialization developed at an early age impact how we relate to people as we become older. How this influenced my thinking: I was not aware how big of an impact peer relations/friendships in middle childhood had on adults. Credibility of source: seems very credible. Author: TVO Parents Date Published: October 8 2009 Why relevant and summary: Great information about ADHD and interviews of people with ADHD How this influenced my thinking: I have never been "officially" diagnosed with ADHD but I have always struggled with attention, organization and time management. This resource gave me some great information on finding other resources available. Credibility of source: Very credible resource. Cites other sources and experts who contributed to the show.

How this influenced my thinking: I am very interested in brain development and learning. I am excited about researching learning and brain development in the womb. Credibility of source: very credible news station and research is cited.

Title: about _ temperament Author: seaner4949 Date Published: February 15 2009 Why Relevant and Summary: Great video where Alexander Thomas and Stella Chess discuss temperament qualities in children. They also go into explaining the nine temperament traits and give examples of each. How This Influenced My Thinking: I never really thought much about how important temperament was in children as well as goodness-of-fit when it came to the child's biology and their environment. Credibility of Source: very credible video featuring Thomas and Chess discussing temperament and their proposed concept of goodness-of-fit.

This article presents relevant information for our human development class as well as resources for further research. How This Influenced My Thinking:  Brain development greatly influences me and I am always looking for information that I can put into practice. I have experience in working with youth who have faced maltreatment at an early age and I can see the lasting effects it has had on them. Title: Natural Childbirth & Waterbirth Facts, Benefits for Mom & Baby Author: Marie Black- Holistic Life Coach Date Published: Uploaded August 4th 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: Insightful information about benefits and concerns of the waterbirth method of childbirth. How This Influenced My Thinking: Good points on benefits of waterbirth, she was able to give me more information on my concerns as well as suggestions for research. Credibility of Source: very credible information and citing of sources.

Title: Annie Murphy Paul: What we learn before we're born Author: Annie Murphy Paul. Date Published: Nov. 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: As a science reporter and mother Paul combined her experience as a pregnant woman with her love of research to write about what a fetus is learning in the womb and what a mother teaches through their shared experience. How This Influenced My Thinking: there was a lot of interesting and pertinent information shared within this video. The shared experiences of a mother are vast. A fetus learns from a mother's voice, food preferences, language and culture to environmental events such as famine, war, fear and stress.

Title: 'Identical Strangers' Explore Nature vs. Nurture Author: JOE RICHMAN OF RADIO DIARIES Date Published: October 25, 200712:50 PM Why Relevant and Summary: Great interview and information of adopted twins in a natural experiment. How This Influenced My Thinking: Listening to real people tell their story on being twins and a part of a study of how nature vs. nurture has impacted them individually has contributed greatly to my understanding.

Title: Psychology Assignment on Bronfenbrenner for LIT Author: 1976fifi Date Published: 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: Engaging and a bit funny. This is a thorough video that demonstrates and explains Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory while demonstrating plenty of examples. How This Influenced My Thinking: This video presented a bit more information and examples which helped me understand the theory as well as Bronfenbrenner's strong interests in social environment and cultural impact. Credibility of Source: This video seems very credible with a lot of the information aligning with the information we read and was given to us in class.

Title: Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development Author: Devan Udall Date Published: June 25, 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: The information provided in this video is a clear, factual presentation of Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development. In chapter eight of our Human Development textbook we will be discussing adolescence and will go over theories surrounding morality, Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development is one of them. This video gives a brief introduction to Kohlberg's research and professional career. It presents The Stages of Moral Development as well as recorded interviews illustrating the Heinz Dilemma experiment. How This Influenced My Thinking: I found this reference video supporting some of my theories surrounding moral development. However, as I was doing more research I realized how many variables were not being considered in Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development. As I challenged Kohlberg's theory on its broader application I thought about what research methods could be used to provide supportive evidence. Credibility of Source: I have found additional reference material that supports the information provided in this video.
