I am from the magnificent yellow river across the blue sea
From peaceful town of beef noodle and tasty beer
I am from the villa in the summit of the hill, grandly, lovely and splendidly
It has dulcet weather around the peak of the mountain

    I'm from the lush port
That smells like fish and sea

I am from the YangZi River under the Three Gorges dam.
From delicious Hot-dry noodles and lovely Doupi.
I am from the enduring first YangZi bridge,
    a magnificent, lithe bridge.

    I am from another world
A lonely childhood, nothing but toys
    And busy parents, always working
  • Ryan Moran

I am from hockey sticks piled in the garage like a stack of firewood
From where Squamscott beverages are made and where Sig Sauer firearms are manufactured
I am from the tree infused woodlands the majestic scenery fills the land
It sounded windy as the trees swayed back and fourth

I am a tiny star that you can't see

I am from the oldest city in China
The history is like a long river ends

Million people's lives set it up
  • Yi Lin

I am from the sound of trumpets in my grandfather's war stories Every night I go to bed, all the pieces of it dancing around my head
I am from my grandmother's jaggy sweater and splotchy apron
covered by the unsettling smell of fish

I am from the world's urban playground,
From bleacher creatures and curtain calls
And kick-boxers influencing the night life.

I am from the city that never sleeps,
From the tubulent rush for everything,
as Lady Liberty composedly shepherds the fun.

    It smells like fresh sewage
with the cloud of fried food, cigarettes and reefer.
  • Dow Drukker

I am from the great white mountains and the forever flowing crystal rivers
where once a great god looked over us like a father looks over his children

and the freshly picked herbs hanging from the fiery hearth

I am from the metropolis floating above the water.
Night is always day while the city lights are nighttime sun.
Where iron pythons run like rockets darting to your destination.
Where concrete is our earth and steel hits our sky.
  • zach harrison

I am from the Borough of promise, a city of fresh concrete and dreams
from the borough where a street sing is a persons state of being
I am from the underground highway of dreams
a place where a person can go from projects to penthouse and only end up across the street.
