Sally Chambers, a librarian, put together this powerpoint presentation to talk about digital humanities and research infrastructure in the context of libraries. She begins by defining humanities, digital humanities, infrastructure, and research infrastructure. Along the way, she presents several useful and informational websites for those interested in learning more about the digital humanities. She also specifically talks about DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities) and its establishment as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium. As the presentation goes on, she shares its role with libraries as well as academics.

The topic of Digital Humanities is discussed as a new teaching a research method. Since it is has been newly founded many people find it difficult to use and leave it to scholars and researchers to do most of the work. There are six factors that go into researching humanities that have been found also in researching sciences: publication practices, data, research methods, collaboration, incentives, and learning. One challenge is that how is it decided what information is being included in the archive and how accurate is it. Not all digital archives have equal access; this gives a disadvantage for people's research because they do not have access to all the information they need. She answers how to make digital humanities more accurate and how it can be used in a classroom through many different professors prospectives.

These researchers blogs are motivated by the possibility to share knowledge, aid creativity and provide a feeling of being connected in their research. Ultimately the analysis brings out the blog's combination of function and possibility it offers to each multiple audience.

This article contains three main reasons why Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) should have Digital Humanities Projects. The three main reasons listed in this article are that Universities without Digital Humanity Centers (or cultures) can share resources, some of the research is bound to be cool, and humanities research builds connections. Each assertion is backed up with some research from Digital Humanities projects and is a very persuasive argument for the digital humanities programs and research.

Like the archive websites that we viewed in class, this website is designed to archive material from the Renaissance. There are course related material, such as blogs and lesson plans, there are databases with texts and images from this early time period, and there is a "studio" designed to help writers in their research. There are also external links for any other sites that are wished to view. An archive website is useful for research and Stanford University designed this one for research purposes and informational value.

This article introduces the DIGHUMLAB in Denmark. This laboratory is a collaboration between for major Danish universities and will make it much easier for researchers and students to search for and analyze material across research fields, national boundaries, and media. It will increase international collaboration of Danish scholars with the rest of the world for the sake of the humanities. The grant-funded project will help raise public awareness and interest in humanities research.

This blog post created in anticipation of a panel on undergraduate work and research in the digital humanities creates many questions and ideas for discussion at the panel. The author invites others to share input in hopes of turning it into a discussion to bring forward to the panel at the 2013 Digital Humanities conference. A professor at Georgetown University is collaborating with students to further develop the Wikipedia Arabic program that has very few data covering materials in this language. Students will work with people who speak Arabic, mostly those that live in Egypt, to create and translate Arabic articles. This professor plans to show others her students research so that they can influence other scholars research and further develop research in translating media information around the world.

Jouranlist Steve Kolowich reveals how digital humanities can help education, especially through undergraduate work. He explains that most undergraduate students are unaware of how to use digital tools in their research and the best way to confront this issue is to teach them to work with metadata and design databases. Teaching digital humanities is a fundamental shift as well, because grading items such as crowdsourcing projects is quite different to grading a multiple question exam. Like many other professors in the digital humanities field, Professor Laura McGrane believes if the job is done right, students will be able to conquer research in a more knowledgeable way.

The website encourages people to become members and to contribute.

This short article is about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's initiative for digital humanities supported by the Center for Digital Research of the Humanities. This new push for digital humanities has opened many new positions for scholarly pursuit and research at the school, which helps to open jobs and boost the economy.

This news article highlights the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington's new initiative for facilitating research and education in the digital humanities. The initiative revolves around The Catapult Center, directed by William R. Newman, Distinguished Professor and Ruth N. Halls Professor in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science. This center, according to the article, "will bring together a network of scholars from IU and the outside world in the rapidly expanding fields of digital editing, computational analysis of texts and material analysis of textual collections."

This webliography's purpose is to give a brief overview of the history, methods, and uses of Digital Humanities for those newly entering or interested in the field. Gary Price posted the link to infodocket for digital humanities researchers to be able to use to find more resources for themselves to use in their research.

This is a page of information on Claire Warwick, who is a professor of digital humanities and head of the department of information studies at University College London. Warwick's main research interests are the uses of digital resources in humanities and cultural heritage, reading in physical and digital environments, and the use of social networking in research. Warwick opened the event Annual Research Programme, an event free and open to the public.

This program is designed to fund the implementation of innovative digital-humanities projects that have successfully completed a start-up phase and demonstrated their value to the field. These projects help us better understand the central problems in the humanities, and they also raise new questions in the humanities which help develop new digital applications and approaches for the use in the humanities. The digital humanities Implementation Grants programs seeks to identify projects that have successfully completed their startup phase and are well positioned to have a major impact. These grants involve, Implementation of computationally bases methods or techniques for humanities research; implantation of new digital tools for use in humanities research; implementation of new digital tools for use in humanities research, public programming, or educational settings; efforts to ensure the completion and long-term sustainability of existing digital resources; studies that examine the philosophical or practical implications of the use of emerging technologies in specific fields or disciplines of the humanties, or in interdisciplinary collaborations involving several fields or disciplines; or implementation of new digital modes of scholarly communication that facilitate peer review, collaboration, or the dissemination of humanities scholarship for various audiences.

The article explains the potential application of the SMI RED-m, an eye tracking device, in digital classrooms by explaining its use by the Humanities Lab of Lund University in Sweden. According to the article Lund University, in cooperation with other international researchers, installed 25 SMI RED-m devices to build a prototype digital classroom. By utilizing this eye tracking software, researcher sin the visual perception lab hope to analyze how children learn things in a classroom situation, particularly with regards to introducing new technology to the class room. The intent of the researchers is to use data collected from the project to better tailor educational materials to the abilities and interests of children.
