    Zunal web quest maker allows teachers to create web quests to present content to students. The web quest can serve as a guide while students explore content on their own. This allows them to delve more deeply into topics of interest. Each web quest has welcome, introduction, task, process, evaluation, and conclusion pages. Membership also allows teachers to search all web quests created on Zunal to use them in their classroom. With a Professional membership, users can copy and edit other user's web quests to personalize them for use in their classroom. Professional membership also allows access to other features, like the ability to embed additional pages, pre-test and post-test, rubric, quiz, map, and games. Using a web quest created by Zunal can help learners manage the information being presented. The evaluation page can be used to promote generative processing. This site is better than other similar sites because of all of the features available, including the ability to edit web quests made by other users and all of the pages that can be added into the web quest, like maps and games.

The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus in the video is on the meaning of the presented material and interprets it in light of prior knowledge, YouTube-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hlgGpVpgWo YouTube provides a video presentation on a "SMART Board Interactive White Board Accessibilities." This video presentation provides teachers with information on how to make the SMART Board accessible to all students.     The three web sites that I selected that include multimedia artifacts for active learning: 1) http://www.learner.org/ The learner.org website is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on using multimedia technology as an aid to human cognition (Mayer, p. 13 2009). It uses film clips to demonstrate the practical applications of various mathematical concepts to real life situations. It builds a connection of what the students are studying to a concrete example (visual) to create a clearer mental picture form prior knowledge to new knowledge that is being discovered. 2) http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ The My Lab web site is a behavioral activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on rewarding students for the correct responses (excellent) or punished for the incorrect ones (try again). The underlying metaphor is that of drill-and-practice system, so multimedia is a vehicle for rewarding correct responses and punishing incorrect ones (Mayer, p.15, 2009). A student receives immediate feedback positive or negative and strengthens a response system to proceed or provide reinforcement of the content. 3) http://webgraphing.com/ The web graphing web site is a cognitive activity.     Brief description of what it allows you to do and how it can be used for essential or generative learning: This site is awesome for creating mindmaps using a software that runs on multiple platforms and is adjustable when viewed. The most notable function is the collaboration function that allows the sharing or co-creating of a mindmap. This organizer can be completed by the audience member pertaining to the presentation material in a manner that makes sense to them. Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found (e.g., more effective, creates better products, easier to use, and so on): I have used this with my students and received positive feedback. I have even used it for some Walden assignments and feel it is user friendly and designed to promote collaboration.

This site promotes generative learning because it helps participants organize ideas for future learning. I selected this site because it makes it easy for you to quickly start planning and sorting out their ideas through the use of linked text bubbles.

This will be a good for the generative learning becasue the participants would be actively involved in the process. I like this site becasue the mind maps are very easy to create and they are simple in design. Simplicity for the primary teachers is always a plus, because they like to use the infomation with their students as well.

The site is at the generative level, providing little in the way of instructional information and focusing on the application. The site is very intuitive to use, although not feature-rich. It does allow for sharing and collaboration with other users.

    Bubbl.us - This website allows the user to create graphic organizers that can be saved on the site. The user can have up to three different GOs at t time for free. It is very simple to use and I have used it with my gifted second graders before and they picked up on it quickly. It has the option to change to colors of the "bubbles"and change the font of the text. The completed mind map can be printed or exported to another site to share with others.

    Bubbl.us allows users to create mind maps that can then be shared in documents or on the Web. It can be used before a workshop to create a blank or partially filled in graphic organizer for participants to fill in as the workshop progresses, which would help them to pay attention to the content being presented. Personally, I have found this tool easy and fun to use. In fact, I used it to create the graphic organizer for the workshop I am creating.

This site allows users to collaborate with one another on the mind map or graphic organizer. It is fully customizable and very simple to use. The site offers a quick tutorial for users looking for guidance before they get started, but it is so easy to use that many users would not need to use the tutorial before getting started.

    Bubbl.us is an online graphic organizer that allows one to arrange bubbles in a manner that illustrates relationships. Although it is online, you can export your graphic, print it directly from the application, or save it for future use. As a Flash-based application, Bubbl.us is not necessarily the perfect solution for all computer users, especially Apple users. However, the application overall is quite strong and useful, either as a trainer resource for organizing content, or as a participant resource, used as a means for them to take notes or organize the information they are presented.

    This site allows you to create up to 3 pages for free of mind maps. The easy to use set-up uses icons to demonstrate its repetitive yet graphic portrayal of content. I have used this site for all of my concept maps at Walden. It is easy to create and export as a jpg to be uploaded onto a web page, blog or wiki. It stores the working model on the site until it is deleted by the user.

    Bubbl.us is a site that allows users to create webs, or mind maps. A hierarchy is created by color-coding the bubbles on each level. The site allows collaboration, as well. Sheets can be shared with other people, who then have the ability to either view or edit the mind map, depending on the permission granted by the creator. Once completed, the mind map can be printed or exported as an image or an outline. This site can help encourage generative learning by providing a medium for learners to visualize connections between key terms and concepts. It is more user friendly that other similar sites. The ease of color coding and outline creation make it better than other sites, as well.

    This website allows for the creation of mind maps with added features to create, delete, and change the color, text size, format, and location of 'bubbles'. Hyperlinks can also be added to bubbles to link to outside information. These features will be helpful to provide important information outside of the basic connections shown through the graphic organizer. It is easy to use, edit, and share for mind mapping and sharing gained knowledge throughout the workshop.

    Bubble.us (https://bubbl.us/) is a great site to build graphic organizers in. The site allows the user to download, print, save and share them online with others. The site is easy to use and navigate which means that the user can be creating dynamic graphic organizers in little time. The site is free but does all for upgrades which allow the user more customization options. This site is better than Inspiration because it allows for the online component the user can share the graphic organizer with others and allow them the ability to manipulate or change the organizer or just view depending on the needs of the user.

    Bubble.us is an online mind map that allows users to collaborate on brainstorming. Users can share their mindmap with others and provide access to read or edit. As content is added the mindmap takes on a new shape and cells can be color coded. Another feature of bubbl.us is for users to import work that has been saved on their computer or embed their mindmap. Bubbl.us can be used for pre-training which supports essential learning. I found this site to be more useful for collaborativebrainstorming .

It is user friendly, and is better than many programs because it allows you to share your work via links, or invite members to edit your work.

    The more I use this website, the more I am impressed with what I can do. It's ability to insert hyperlinks to the bubbles in the organizers encouraged me to use it in the pre-training module of my workshop. In the general case, it can be used in all the modules. The ability to script an outline and have the software generate the organizer is convenient and time-saving.

With the mind map, students create a quick view chart or graph which, along with a transcript which will place the information in a outline for ease of studying. The lesson plan will help the student use content information to extract specific concepts to create a snapshot of how information is connected to a specific idea. This activity can be done independently and shared with classmates for input. In addition, the students will rely on their cognitive ability to develop the mind map.

    Webspiration http://www.myWebspiration.com/ This site allows users to create a mind map using various different fonts and templates. Webspiration allows for generative learning becasue the participants would be actively involved with the creation. I like this site becasue it is free. The Webs can be embedded into blogs and the Webs can be worked on collaboratively in a group. I plan to use some collaborative grouping during my presentation. Participants can also view the visual in an outline form for easier construction of the Web.

It is easy to use and allows teachers to hyperlink out to other sites to help students understand concepts better.     Assignment, Module 3 - Mywebspiration.com is a free, web-based visual thinking tool that allows users to creatively organize and map mental connections.  One advantage of this site is it converts your mind map bubbles into an outline (and vice versa) format to assist in the writing process.  Users can add color, rapid fire links, and graphics to their work.  Also, the site provide easy-to-use templates to aid in formatting styles.  Collaboration has been made easy as it automatically saves and stores the product online.  It is a wonderful brainstorming tool.

    Webspiration is an online version of the software Inspiration. It is very simple to use to create your own graphic organizers. If could be used to create custom graphic organizers for your presentation and easily shared with the participants through Google Docs or a simple .jpg. Webspiration allows for the create to generate their own customized graphic organizer, many of the other graphic organizer Websites do not allow you to customize them. This is an example of essential learning since the learner organizes their new learning in a way that is best for them, thus moving the learning into the working memory.

    Webspiration is an easy to use concept mapping resource which allows users to design and manage their own learning Webs. Compared to other similar programs, this site is very similar to Inspiration, and Kidspiration, used frequently in elementary schools. Final products can be easily shared, saved and downloaded into other media such as Word documents, Google Docs, and also can be used for collaboration. Various designs allow learners to individualize their maps according to their needs.

    In my workshop, the participants will use this site to create a graphic organizer to help them organize their notes as they navigate the workshop. The mywebspiration site is strong on active processing (Mayer, 2009) as the user must take in the material and actively process it in order to produce the synthesis of the information in the form of a mindmap.

Poll Everywhere is an audience response system using standard web technology. It works through text, web, or Twitter, its simplicity and flexibility are earning rave reviews. I love it because responses show up immediately on the screen, allowing the instructor to create a chart, or just show responses. This is a free web-based program for up to 30 responders.

    Bubble.us is the best web brainstorming application. It is somewhat limited in that it can not do a lot of different types of graphic organizers but it is absolutely free, and easily sharable to others. The menu button allows the information to be exported as an image, html, or xml that can be shared on a blog or printed. Many other brainstorming applications do not allow for exporting into different formats.

    This website provides a way to create creative graphic organizers to make connections with prior and new learning. Students are then able to "see" connections with the color coding of information. The organizer can be completed prior to the lesson and broken down into pieces and archived into the slides using Interwrite. Bubbl.us is technology centered because content is entered into the text boxed. Then the students print out their mind map. The mind map helps students to choose what is important to remember because of the limited capacity of working memory. (Mayer, 2008)

    Although Prezi is advertised as a presentation device, it works really well to graphically present information, so I prefer it as a graphic organizer. Prezi provides a medium to allow words to flow, enabling the user to zoom in to information "hidden" as a subcategory within the main points. This is a very exciting new program, which I have gladly paid a subscription for! There remain some gltiches in publishing, such as to wordpress, or from the desktop application.

However, the presentation style of the elements follows more of a mind map design rather than a linear slideshow. The presentation tool is housed online, can be access for free, and makes it easy to integrate various forms of multimedia. The tools available at Prezi are advantageous for developing stylish online presentations and for facilitating continued review of materials, non-linear formats for reasoning, and building connections among concepts. Prezi's can be downloaded or saved on in the users account until the presentation. The user can also allow others to view their presentation or keep them private. Prezi is a free site in which interactive presentations are made possible. Prezi is much more dynamic than a PowerPoint presentation and as long as you have internet access you do not have to worry about the computer you are using having the same version of PowerPoint.

    Unlike most presentation software, Prezi does a good job of organizing and sharing ideas, while drawing a clear connection between content. When explaining production elements it helps to be able to see the whole picture from script to distribution. Prezi offers the ability to focus on each part and zoom out to view the full picture.

    This site allows the user to create a slide show presetnation from anywhere without having to use PowerPoint. The only thing needed is a web browser and this is compatible with IE 7, Firfox and Camino. What I liked best about this site is its ease of use and that all members can work on the same presentation at the same time. Also, there is no limit to the number or length of the presentation. You even have 250MB to store photos.

    What it does: It is a simplified version of Power Point allowing a user to create slides. Why this one: It is free and easy to use. It is also web-based so that teachers do not need to copy it into folders, files, or CDs. The recurring theme that I have tried to maintain is the need for simplicity and efficient use of time. Creating multimedia presentations are but a small fraction of the enormous number of jobs a teacher must complete. This application, while more limited than Power Point, does allow teachers to complete a project in less time. Learning benefits: Teachers can quickly create a number of messages for essential learning using this package. As well, they can incorporate mind maps, graphic organizers, or other tools to expand the learning process into generative thinking.

The site offers very little in terms of how-to information, and it is primarily at the generative level of cognitive processing, focusing on creating and applying the tool. However, it is a very simple interface, much like PowerPoint stripped down to the basics. Its advantages are ease-of-use, share-ability, privacy options, and the ability to download presentations.
