    Zunal web quest maker allows teachers to create web quests to present content to students. The web quest can serve as a guide while students explore content on their own. This allows them to delve more deeply into topics of interest. Each web quest has welcome, introduction, task, process, evaluation, and conclusion pages. Membership also allows teachers to search all web quests created on Zunal to use them in their classroom. With a Professional membership, users can copy and edit other user's web quests to personalize them for use in their classroom. Professional membership also allows access to other features, like the ability to embed additional pages, pre-test and post-test, rubric, quiz, map, and games. Using a web quest created by Zunal can help learners manage the information being presented. The evaluation page can be used to promote generative processing. This site is better than other similar sites because of all of the features available, including the ability to edit web quests made by other users and all of the pages that can be added into the web quest, like maps and games.

    The three web sites that I selected that include multimedia artifacts for active learning: 1) http://www.learner.org/ The learner.org website is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on using multimedia technology as an aid to human cognition (Mayer, p. 13 2009). It uses film clips to demonstrate the practical applications of various mathematical concepts to real life situations. It builds a connection of what the students are studying to a concrete example (visual) to create a clearer mental picture form prior knowledge to new knowledge that is being discovered. 2) http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ The My Lab web site is a behavioral activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on rewarding students for the correct responses (excellent) or punished for the incorrect ones (try again). The underlying metaphor is that of drill-and-practice system, so multimedia is a vehicle for rewarding correct responses and punishing incorrect ones (Mayer, p.15, 2009). A student receives immediate feedback positive or negative and strengthens a response system to proceed or provide reinforcement of the content. 3) http://webgraphing.com/ The web graphing web site is a cognitive activity. The most notable function is the collaboration function that allows the sharing or co-creating of a mindmap. This organizer can be completed by the audience member pertaining to the presentation material in a manner that makes sense to them. Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found (e.g., more effective, creates better products, easier to use, and so on): I have used this with my students and received positive feedback. I have even used it for some Walden assignments and feel it is user friendly and designed to promote collaboration.

This site promotes generative learning because it helps participants organize ideas for future learning. I selected this site because it makes it easy for you to quickly start planning and sorting out their ideas through the use of linked text bubbles.

It is very simple to use and I have used it with my gifted second graders before and they picked up on it quickly. Although it is online, you can export your graphic, print it directly from the application, or save it for future use. As a Flash-based application, Bubbl.us is not necessarily the perfect solution for all computer users, especially Apple users. However, the application overall is quite strong and useful, either as a trainer resource for organizing content, or as a participant resource, used as a means for them to take notes or organize the information they are presented.

I have used this site for all of my concept maps at Walden. It is easy to create and export as a jpg to be uploaded onto a web page, blog or wiki.     Bubbl.us is a site that allows users to create webs, or mind maps. A hierarchy is created by color-coding the bubbles on each level. The site allows collaboration, as well. Sheets can be shared with other people, who then have the ability to either view or edit the mind map, depending on the permission granted by the creator. Once completed, the mind map can be printed or exported as an image or an outline. This site can help encourage generative learning by providing a medium for learners to visualize connections between key terms and concepts. It is more user friendly that other similar sites. The ease of color coding and outline creation make it better than other sites, as well.

This site is better than Inspiration because it allows for the online component the user can share the graphic organizer with others and allow them the ability to manipulate or change the organizer or just view depending on the needs of the user.

It's ability to insert hyperlinks to the bubbles in the organizers encouraged me to use it in the pre-training module of my workshop. In the general case, it can be used in all the modules.     On this site, users are able to create customizable mind maps. Multiple formats are available to save the product. Additionally, other users are able to modify the created the mind map. I chose this site because of the control the user has with the product and the collaboration possibilities.

    Bubbl.us is a graphic organizer builder that I use not only for Walden activities but also in my own classroom. Bubbl.us is effective because it is a quick way to create a graphic organizer for any topic. Also, it can be used to create a mind map for students to demonstrate their understanding of a topic.

    Bubble.us is the best web brainstorming application. It is somewhat limited in that it can not do a lot of different types of graphic organizers but it is absolutely free, and easily sharable to others. The menu button allows the information to be exported as an image, html, or xml that can be shared on a blog or printed. Many other brainstorming applications do not allow for exporting into different formats.

    This website provides a way to create creative graphic organizers to make connections with prior and new learning. Students are then able to "see" connections with the color coding of information. The organizer can be completed prior to the lesson and broken down into pieces and archived into the slides using Interwrite. Bubbl.us is technology centered because content is entered into the text boxed. Then the students print out their mind map. The mind map helps students to choose what is important to remember because of the limited capacity of working memory. (Mayer, 2008)

    Bubbl.us is a free web application that allows users to create an interactive web based graphic organizer. As with other graphic organizers, Bubbl.us will aid the generative process and allow users to organize and categorize what is being learned at a given time.
